2.Practice of proton and heavy ion radiotherapies for head and neck malignancies
Chinese Journal of Radiation Oncology 2016;25(5):427-431
Radiotherapy is an important therapeutic method in the management of head and neck cancer. However, since the head and neck region has many important functions of the human body, radiotherapy may cause serious sequelae.Proton and heavy ion radiotherapies have better radiophysical and biological properties compared with conventional proton beam and are beneficial to tumor control and protection of normal tissue. The advantages of proton and heavy ion radiotherapies have been demonstrated in soft tissue tumors (especially skull base chordoma and chondrosarcoma),malignant melanoma, and adenoid cystic carcinoma resistant to conventional protons in the head and neck region, and the safety of proton and heavy ion radiotherapies have been confirmed in reirradiation for recurrent tumors.
3.Non-surgical treatment of locoregionally advanced squamous cell carcinoma of the head and neck region
China Oncology 2013;(12):961-966
Deifnitive treatment for locoregionally advanced squamous cell carcinoma of the head and neck region (HNSCC) is challenging, and usually require multidisciplinary efforts involving surgery, radiotherapy, and chemotherapy. Although surgery followed by radiation or chemoradiation therapy remains the standard treatment for resectable disease, combined chemoradiation therapy provides an effective option with organ spearing potential. In addition, combined chemoradiation therapy is the only treatment option for non-metastatic advanced HNSCC. Recently published results from TAX323 and TAX324, two important randomized clinical trials on the efficacy of induction chemotherapy using docetaxel based regimen, showed that induction chemotherapy using TPF can signiifcantly improve patients’ survival as compared to the conventional PF regimen. However, whether TP or TPF induction chemotherapy should be combined with concurrent chemoradiation and considered as part of the standard treatment regimen remains controversial, and requires support from the results of well-designed randomized clinical trial.
4.The historical evolution of diagnosis and radiotherapy for nasopharyngeal carcinoma
China Oncology 2006;0(09):-
Radiation therapy is the mainstay treatment modality of nasopharyngeal carcinoma (NPC). The treatment outcome of NPC using external beam radiotherapy has been substantially improved over the past several decades. MRI has demonstrated remarkable advantage in detecting the extent of the primary tumor, and has replaced CT scan as the primary imaging modality for both diagnosis and staging for NPC. Functional imaging may further allow more precise staging of the disease and prediction of the treatment outcome. The introduction of Cobalt-60 has substantially improved the treatment outcome for NPC as compared to that in the era of Kilo-Voltage X-ray. And intensity-modulated radiation therapy (IMRT) not only improved the prognosis after treatment as compared to conventional radiotherapy, but also improved the quality of life. In addition, concurrent chemoradiation therapy has been extensively studied and become the standard treatment for locally and/or regionally advanced NPC. However, progress in radiation biology and its clinical application was not observed. This article presented a comprehensive review of the historical evolution of the diagnostic and therapeutic technologies and techniques for the management of NPC.
5.Determination of Ginsenoside Rg_1 in Aidi Injection by RP-HPLC
China Pharmacy 2007;0(27):-
OBJECTIVE:To establish the RP-HPLC method for determination of ginsenoside Rg1 in Aidi injection. METHODS:The determination was performed on Lichrospher C18(250 mm?4.6 mm,5 ?m) with column temperature kept at 35 ℃. The mobile phase consisted of water -acetonitrile (gradient elution) at a flow rate of 1.0 mL?min-1.The detection wavelength was set at 203 nm. RESULTS:The linear range of ginsenoside Rg1 was 5.0~250.0 ?g?mL-1(r=0.999 5),and the average recovery was 97.43%(RSD=1.81%,n=6). CONCLUSION:The method is simple, rapid and accurate, and it is suitable for the quality control of Aidi injection.

Objective To analyze the mentation of patients with stroke and the risk factors.MethodsThe mentation of 309 patients(178 male cases and 131 female cases) with stroke was evaluated with special scales.ResultsAmong the male cases, the incidence of anxiety was 30%;the incidence of depression was 37%.Among the female cases, the incidence of anxiety was 43%;the incidence of depression was 51%.The incidences of anxiety and depression of female were higher than that of male(P<0.05).ConclusionThe incidences of anxiety and depression in stroke patients are higher than common people. The degree of stroke, family relations, gender and age of the patients are the risk factors of anxiety and depression after stroke.
7.Characteristics of Sleep Disorders in Patients with Stroke
Chinese Journal of Rehabilitation Theory and Practice 2007;13(12):1161-1162
Objective To study the characteristics of sleep disorders in patients with stroke. Methods 350 patients with stroke were evaluated with Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index (PSQI) and Neurofunction Deficit Score (NDS).Results The familiar sleep disorders in stroke patients were difficulty to fall asleep, early to awake, hard to keep the sleep long, with inordinate sleep structure, excess sleep in daytime, paroxysmal nona. The incidence rate of sleep disorder in female cases was higher than that of the male cases ( P<0.05).Conclusion The incidence of dyssomnia in stroke patients is higher than that of common people. As a whole, the incidence of dyssomnia in female stroke patients is higher than male. The incidence of sleep disorders such as difficulty to fall asleep, early to awake, hard to keep the sleep long, with inordinate sleep structure in female stroke patients is higher than that of male patients. The incidence of sleep disorders such as excess sleep in daytime, paroxysmal nona in male stroke patients is higher than that of female patients.
8.Significance of Hidden Rheumatoid Factor IgM,Anti-Cyclic Citrullinated Peptide Antibodies,Antikeratin Antibodies,Combined Test in Diagnosis of Juvenile Idiopathic Arthritis
Journal of Applied Clinical Pediatrics 2004;0(09):-
Objective To explore the significance of hidden rheumatoid factor-IgM(HRF-IgM),anti-cyclic citullinated peptide antibodies(anti-CCP),antikeratin antibodies(AKA)combined test in the diagnosis of juvenile idiopathic arthritis(JIA).Methods The anti-CCP and rheumatoid factors(RF)were tested by enzyme linked immunosorbent assay(ELISA)in serum samples from 60 children with JIA,27 systemic lupus erythematosus(SLE),18 kawaski diseases and 50 healthy children who were enrolled to serve as normal controls.Indirect immumofluorescence method was used to test AKA.Using the QAE-Sephadex-A50 to separate RF then tested HRF-IgM by ELISA.Results Positive anti-CCP were found in sera of 13 patients with JIA(21.7%)and specificity 96.8%.RF were found lower test both with the JIA and other groups(?2=0.17 P=0.68).The results of AKA were similar to the anti-CCP,they were both lower sensitivity and higher specificity. There were 65% sensitivity and 85.3% specificity in the HRF-IgM,and great significant difference in positive rate in JIA and other group(?2=40.22 P=0.0001).Conclusions JIA children in the studied series has a higher detection rate and value of HRF-IgM as compared to the other control groups.HRF-IgM,anti-CCP,AKA combined test in JIA can prove to be a valuable reference index for diagnosing suspected JIA children.

Lin LAN ; Yin KONG ; Lingyi ZHANG
Journal of Clinical Hepatology 2015;31(4):510-513
Alanine aminotransferase (ALT)abnormality is an indicator of the degree of liver inflammation caused by immune activation in patients with chronic hepatitis B (CHB).However, approximately half of the CHB patients with normal or mildly elevated ALT levels have concealed significant changes in hepatic histology.CHB patients with normal or mildly elevated ALT levels may have significant histopatho-logical changes in hepatic tissues, and those changes vary between HBeAg(+)and HBeAg(-)CHB patients.Attention and investigation on the clinical management of CHB patients with normal or mildly elevated ALT levels may have great significance in grasping the right treat-ment opportunity and reducing the risk of liver cirrhosis.
