Objective To study the effect of IFN-αcombined with ATRA in liver cancer therapy in perioperative phase of inter-vention .Methods An animal model of liver cancer CBRH7919 was established by implanting 28 Wistar rats with tumor tissue .The hepatic artery was tied off in one month after formation of tumor .All the rats were randomly divided into the experimental group (14 cases) and the control group(14 cases) .The control group accepted peritoneal injection with normal saline while the experimen-tal group accepted IFN-αcombined with ATRA .10 days later ,all the rats were sacrificed .And the level of expression of VEGF ,bF-GF ,mirovessel density ,and apoptotic index of tumor cells were measured .Results Serum VEGF level ,MVD and apoptotic index of tumor cells of the experimental group were statistically lower than that of the control group [(91 .8 ± 12 .7) pg/mL ,(115 .7 ± 11 .8)/HP ,(12 .29 ± 4 .53)% vs .(67 .4 ± 18 .3)pg/mL ,(65 .3 ± 7 .2)/HP ,(3 .81 ± 1 .52)% ,t=4 .099、13 .642、6 .640 ,P<0 .05)] , results of RT-PCR and immunohistochemistry detection both showed that the levels of expression of VEGF and bFGF of the exper-imental group was lower than that of the control group .Conclusion IFN-αcombined with ATRA in liver cancer therapy in periop-erative phase of intervention could suppress the generation of neoplastic vascular and improve the effect of the intervention .So it is worth promoting .

Germination of the seeds of Bupleurum chinense and B. falcatum activated by exogenous hormones of dif ferent concentrations was studied. The hormones used were GA3, 6-BA and IAA. The optimum concentration of the 3 hormones that activated the seed germination of B. chinense was 50?g/ml,while that for B. falcatum was 200?g/ml, 100?g/ml and 25?g/ml respectively. Among the 3 hormones, 6-BA showed the greatest effect on the 2 species of Bupleurum L. 50?g/ml 6-BA raised the germination rate of the seeds of B. chinese from 57.5 % to 84. 5 % and 100?g/ml 6-BA raised the germination rate of the seeds of B.falcatum from 28. 5 % to 76.0%

Objective To investigate the characteristics of Wallerian degeneration (WD) of secondary pyramidal tract after supratentorial cerebrovascular diseases, and to study the relationship between secondary WD and clinical performance. Methods We retrospectively reviewed and investigated the results of brain CT films of 272 cases suffered from supratentorial cerebral vascular diseases during 2001 till 2004. The number of supratentorial disorders was counted respectively in WD group and non-WD group, the distribution feature of these disorders was analyzed, and the changes in the cerebral peduncles of the midbrain and Activities of Daily Living Scale (ADLs) were determined. The information obtained was analyzed statistically respectively. Results Seventy-four cases of secondary WD were found, the rate of WD outbreak was 27.2%. Objective To study the physiology of sleeping in a swine model with obstructive sleep apnea syndrome (OSAS) reproduced by high altitude and hypoxia. Methods Twelve male minipigs were randomly assigned to 2 groups, named A and B. The pigs of Group A were placed in Room 1, which was a double-room altitude chamber, and the pressure in it was adjusted to 53.9 kPa with an oxygen concentration of 10.0%~11.2%. The pigs of Group B were kept in Room 2 with altitude of sea level and oxygen concentration of 21%. All the animals were kept in their respective rooms for 6 hours per day and for 22 consecutive days. On the 23rd day sleeping was monitored, at the same time the movements of chest and abdomen, respiratory airflow, heart rate, and pulse oxygen saturation (SpO_2) were recorded. Apnea/Hypopnea Index (AHI), Hypopnea Index (HI), and average SpO_2 were derived from analysis of the data of sleeping monitoring. Pigs were sacrificed after the experiment, and pharyngeal tissue was harvested for pathological examination. Objective: To examine the effect of mouthwashing before dental procedure on environmental pollution of microorganism in dental clinic. Methods: Air samples in dental clinic after tooth preparation whether using mouthwashes or not pre operationally were collected and cultured with blood agar plates, the bacteria colonies formed on the plates in different groups were counted as the index for air contamination. Results: Environmental contamination from tooth preparation in dental clinic could be reduced significantly by using mouthwash pre operationally( P 0.05), but the size of the colonies formed on the plates in Kou Jie Su group was smaller than that in drinking water group. Conclusion: Environmental contamination from tooth preparation in dental clinic can be reduced by using mouthwash pre operationally. Combination of the pre operational mouthwashing with vacuum aspirator or ventilation installation may be a better way to control the possible cross infection in dental clinic.

Objective To compare the incidence of MACE and predictors in patients with unprotected left main coronary artery disease (ULMCAD) after percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI) or coronary artery bypass grafting (CABG). To establish a risk stratification to guide treatment and prognosis of patients with ULMCAD who underwent PCI. Methods The incidence of MACE in 201 patients with ULMCAD who underwent PCI or CABG was compared, retrospectively. The predictors of MACE of the two groups were obtained by logistic regression analyses. The predictors of MACE of the PCI group were assigned and stratified. The validity of the risk stratification on the prediction of MACE was verified in a new group of 126 patients with ULMCAD who underwent PCI. Results The incidence of MACE of PCI and CABG group was 16% and 11.9%, respectively. Logistic regression analyses showed that LVEF, diabetes mellitus and Syntax score were related to MACE in PCI group, while age, LVEF and renal function insufficiency were related to MACE in CABG group. The verification results showed a good predictive value of the risk stratification based on LVEF, diabetes mellitus and Syntax score on the incidence of MACE. Conclusions PCI treatment in patients with ULMCAD is feasible and has a good long-term outcome. The risk stratification in accordance with LVEF, diabetes mellitus and Syntax score has good predictive value on the incidence of MACE.

Objective To investigate the indications and mid-term outcomes of periacetabular osteotomy through ilioinguinal approach for developmental dysplasia of the hip (DDH) in middle-aged (40-50years old) adult patients.Methods Data of 10 adult patients who had undergone periacetabular osteotomies through ilioinguinal approach for DDH from August 2005 to February 2010 were retrospectively analyzed.There were 7 females and 3 males,aged from 40 to 47 years (average,42 years).Bilateral hips were involved in 3 patients,and unilateral hip was involved in 7 patients.Before this hospitalization,1 patient had received Chari osteotomy,and 1 had received hip-shelf procedure.According to the T(o)nnis classification,3 hips were classified as Grade 0,5 as Grade Ⅰ and 2 as Grade Ⅱ.The Shenton line was discontinuous in 6 hips.The average lateral center-edge angle was 3.50°±4.88°; the average anterior center-edge angle was 1.80°±5.07°; the average acetabular index angle was 18.20°±3.01°; the average femoral head extrusion index was 31.30％±4.37％; the average Harris hip score was 67.40±7.75.Changes of the indexes mentioned above were observed during the whole period of follow-up.Results All patients were followed up for 10 to 76 months (average,37 months).The T(o)nnis grade improved in 2 cases,from preoperative Grade Ⅰ and Grade Ⅱ to Grade 0 and Grade Ⅰ at final follow-up,respectively.At final follow-up,the Shenton line was discontinuous in 2 hips; the average lateral center-edge angle improved to 30.40°±3.31°,the average anterior center-edge angle improved to 29.50°±3.03°,the average acetabular index angle decreased to 4.50°±2.55°,the average femoral head extrusion index decreased to 9.90％±4.33％; the average Harris hip score increased to 84.10±4.07.The major complications included 3 cases of lateral femoral cutaneous nerve palsy which recovered in 4 to 6 months,and 1 case of iliac fossa hematoma which disappeared in 2 weeks.Conclusion With more strict surgery indication and more meticulous manipulation,periacetabular osteotomy through ilioinguinal approach can achieve satisfactory results in the treatment of DDH in middle-aged adults,which can increase hip joint congruence,relieve hip symptom and delay progression of osteoarthritis.

Objective　To observe about curative effect of MMF on type Ⅳ lupus nephritis and to review the literature about MMF used to treat LN.Method　Ten patients with type Ⅳ LN were treated with MMF 1～2 g/d plus prednisone at middle or little dose.Curative duration of these patients was between 6 and 12 months.After 3,6 and 12 months curative effect was observed.Results　After treatment proteinurie and systemic lupus activity measurement were decreased gradually.Before and after treatment ANA positive rates were 80% and 30%,anti dsDNA antibody positive rates were 50% and 10%,respectively,and low C3 and C4 was rectified.After treatment renal failure in 3 patients was recovered.During treatment major adverse reactions included gastrointestinal symptoms and herpes zoster.Conclusion　MMF has exacttly effect on type Ⅳ LN and low side effect.
