Increasing aged care requisite has become a serious challenge all over the world. Compared with developed countries, aged care in China still has some limitations, i.e., lack of qualified professionals, aged care system needs to be improved, and lack of aged long term care insurance. This article discussed these points and put forward the corresponding countermeasures.

The occupational hazards to nurses are important factors which may influence the physical and mental health of nurses, and further more influence the quality of care the nurses providing to patients. This article reviewed the occupational hazards to nurses and the related factors in organizational environments and nursing human resources, so as to provide references for further studies and evidence for taking measures to prevent occupational hazards to clinical nurses.

The important role of nursing work environment has received much attention in the management of nursing workforce and the quality of health care services. This paper analyzed current studies on nursing work environment, and suggested that the government and hospital administrators pay more attention to the development of nursing workforce, adequate clinical nurse staffing levels and promoting healthy work environment for nurses.

Objective To describe fatigue among children with acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL)receiving chemotherapy in hospital and explore its related factors.Methods A total of 100 hospitalized children with ALL receiving chemotherapy and their main caregivers were surveyed on demographic information,treatment data,Wong-Baker facial scale and the PedsQLTMMFS Multidimensional Fatigue Scale.Results The incidence of fatigue was 99％ (99/100).The total score of fatigue scale was (56.71±17.32) on average.Multiple linear regression modeling showed that the factors related with fatigue included the time of dexamethasone use,childen's sleep quality,hemoglobin content,pain score,the time for the present chemotherapy,age and main caregivers' self-rating health status (P＜ 0.05 or 0.01).Conclusions Fatigue is serious among children with ALL receiving chemotherapy and is related with demographic factors,diseases,treatment condition and health status of the caregivers.

Objective To explore the application of Chinese version of PedsQLTM Multidimensional Fatigue Scale(PedsQLTM MFS) in children with leukemia.Methods 141 children with leukemia and their main caretakers (one parent) were surveyed with the Chinese version of PedsQLTMMFS.Results The Cronbach α was 0.836-0.949 and 0.761-0.930 for parent-proxy scale and children's self-report scale respectively.The correlation coefficients between each item and its subscale were higher than those between each item and other subscales.The scores of parent-proxy scale and children's self-report scale were positively correlated with the correlation coefficient as 0.373-0.738,P＜0.01.Conclusions The Chinese version of PedsQLTMMFS has good reliability and validity.It is a reliable scale in measuring fatigue in children with leukemia.

Objective To investigate the possibility of the involvement of RhoA/mDia1 pathway to cause the expression of phosphorylate ezrin-radixin-moesin (p-ERM) in rat pulmonary micro-vascular endothelial cell (PMVEC) after the stimulation of lipopolysaccharide (LPS).Methods The specimens of lung tissue were taken from healthy male SPF grade SD rat with 100-120 g body weight which was purchased from the laboratory animal center of Anhui province.After culture,the PMVECs were randomly divided into dose-dependent groups (0,0.1,1,10 μg/mL LPS added in PMVECs and cultured for30 min,n =8 in each),time-dependent groups (10 μg/mL LPS added to PMVECs cultured for 0,15,30,60,120 min,n =8 in each) and intervention group (n =8).In the intervention group,PMVECs were cultured with 1 μg/mL C3 transferase in serum free media for 240 min,followed by treatment with 10 μg/mL LPS for 30 min.Meanwhile,two control groups in serum-free DMEM medium were made by adding 10.μg/mL LPS to PMVECs and 1 μg/mL C3 transferase to PMVECs respectively cultured for 30 min (n =8 in each).Western blot was used to detect the level of p-ERM,ERM and mDia1.Data were analyzed with SPSS 16.0 software,while one way analysis of variance (ANOVA) was used to compare multiple sets of variables,the intergroup comparisons were analyzed by the least-significant-difference (LSD) tests,with P ＜0.05 for the statistically significant difference.Results ERM,p-ERM and mDia1 were presented in rat PMVEC.Stimulation with LPS up-regulated p-ERM,mDia1 in a dose-dependent manner:LPS [0 μg/mL LPS group:(0.520±0.101),0.1 μg/mL LPS group:(0.657 ±0.092),1 μg/mL LPS group:(0.891 ±0.167),10 μg/mL LPS group:(1.227 ±0.106);0 μg/mL group vs.0.1 μg/mL group,P ＞0.05;the rest P ＜0.01];and mDia1 [0 μg/mL LPS group:(0.200 ±0.102),0.1 μg/mL LPS group:(0.430 ±0.121),1 μg/mL LPS group:(0.603 ±0.154),10 μg/mL LPS group:(0.887 ±0.204);0.1 μg/mL group vs.1 μg/mL group,P ＞ 0.05;the rest P ＜ 0.05].In time-dependent group,the level of p-ERM protein increased at 15 min (0.670 ±0.149),peaked at 30 min (1.175 ±0.103),then decreased,at 60 min (0.959 ±0.189),90 min (0.842 ±0.129),but kept at higher level at 120 min (0.767 ±0.097) than that in control group (0.471 ±0.157,15 min group vs.120 min group,60 min group vs.90 min group and 90 min group vs.120 min group,P ＞ 0.05;the rest P ＜ 0.05);and the level of mDia1 increased at 15 min (0.779 ±0.035),peaked at 30 min (0.889 ±0.036) then decreased at 60 min (0.648 ±0.019),90 min (0.582 ±0.068),but kept at higher level at 120 min (0.526 ±0.059) than that in control group (0.284±0.118,all P ＜ 0.01).C3 transferase caused a marked attenuation of LPS induced p-ERM expression [control group:(0.339 ± 0.069);C3 + LPS group:(0.438 ± 0.07);C3 control group:(0.352 ± 0.071);LPS control group:(0.634 ± 0.191),C3 + LPS group vs.LPS control group,P =0.01],as the same in mDia1 [control group:(0.449 ±0.122);C3 + LPS group:(0.380 ±0.148);C3 control group:(0.404 ±0.164);LPS control group:(0.622 ±0.174),C3 + LPS group vs.LPS control group,P ＜ 0.01].Conclusions LPS could up-regulated the expression of p-ERM protein,and inhibition of RhoA/mDia1 signal pathway by C3 transferase could down-regulated the p-ERM levels.

Objective To investigate the scale and educational-level composition of nursing education in Guangdong Province,identify the issues in the development process,and provide suggestions accordingly.Methods Data on the scale and education level of nursing education were obtained from the Ministry of Education of China.Results Scale of nursing education at three levels for entering nursing (secondary diploma,advanced diploma,and baccalaureate degree) expanded rapidly during 2006～2010 in Guangdong,with 25.6 thousand recruitments totally in 2010,which as 2.05 times as in 2006.The portion of students recruited in secondary diploma programs had increased gradually,resulted in 83.53％ in 2010 (9.41％ for recruitments in advanced diploma programs and 7.06％ for baccalaureate degree programs).179 and 16 students were recruited in master's and doctoral programs in Guangdong,respectively,during 2006～ 2010.Conclusions The current scale and composition of nursing education in Guangdong should be improved according to the dynamic supply-need relationship of nursing workforce.Initial nursing education should be upgraded by increasing the recruitments of advanced diploma and baccalaureate programs and decreasing the recruitments of secondary diploma programs,expand graduate education,and ensure the quality of education.

Objective To explore the factors of treatment adherence for patients with hypertension.Methods Data were collected among 520 patients with essential hypertension from 2009 to 2010.It investigated the factors of treatment adherence for patients with hypertension by self-report scales.Results Structural equation model analysis showed age,self-rated health,self-eificacy,quality of life,family function and health concept were all directly associated with treatment adherence,and these variables explained 52.0％ of the total variance.Self-efficacy and quality of life were regarded as mediators in predicting treatment adherence of hypertensive patients,other variables indirectly affected adherence behavior by two mediators.Age and self-efficacy showed a strong independent predictive role to adherence.Conclusions Healthcare providers should take effective measures to improve treatment adherence for patients with hypertension based on patients characteristic once they make reasons for adherence clear,which can enhance quality of life,control blood pressure and prevent complications.

Nursing work environment impacts patient outcomes. This article summarized the concept and connotation of nursing work environment, related theories of how nursing work environment impacts patient safety outcomes and related researches conducted by foreign scholars. The effort of this review article aims to put forward new research direction.

ObjectiveTo explore the role of autofluorescence bronchoscopy in lung cancer operation and the meaning of choice lung cancer operation mode.MethodsTo retrospectively analyze 32 non-small cell lung cancer patients.Before lung cancer operation,white light bronchoscopy (WLB) and autofluorescence bronchoscopy (AFB) had been done routinely.Compared the different invasive tumor conditions by WLB and AFB,operation modes were decided by the edge of the tumor which were proved by biopsy pathology.ResultsIn 32 cases,19 cases underwent pulmonary lobectomy.One case underwent carinal resection and reconstruction.8 cases underwent sleeve lobectomy.4 cases underwent other therapy because of tumor airway metastasis.In 8 cases which underwent sleeve lobectomy,3 ca ses were found by WLB and AFB together,5 cases were found only by AFB.In 4 cases who had no operation chance,2 cases were found by WLB and AFB together,2 cases were only by AFB.The sensitivity for the detection of bronchial premalignant lesions was extremelyhigher withthe addition of AFB than WLBalone ( P ＜ 0.05 ).ConclusionAutofluorescence bronchoscopy is a safe and efficient technique which could improve the sensitivity of diagnosis in lung cancer than WLB.It is important to select operation mode.
