1.Clinical Significance of VWF in Patients with Essential Hypertension
Chinese Journal of Hypertension 2001;9(2):122-124
Aim To explore the clinical significance of the vWF in the patients with essential hypertension(EH). Methods vWF were measured with enzyme linked immunoabsorbent assay(ELISA) in 103 EH patients and 30 normal controls. The vWF values were compared by age ,gender, and stages of hypertension. Results There were markedly rise in EH patients than that in the normal controls. The vWF was increased with the age and stage of hypertension. The highest vWF was found in male over seventy years. Conclusion vWF may serve as an indicator of injury of endothelium. A positive correlation between endothelium lesion and age was found.

AIM: To investigate the dynamic expression of Rho kinase(ROCK I) and transforming growth factor ?1(TGF-?1) in pulmonary arterioles of rat with chronic thromboembolic pulmonary hypertension.METHODS: Sixty-four male Wister rats were randomly divided into eight groups: beginning control group, embolism for 3 d,1 week,2 weeks,4 weeks,8 weeks,12 weeks groups and end control group. The pulmonary thromboembolism(PTE) model was established by injecting thrombin into jugular vein two times in two weeks and each rat underwent peritoneal injection with tranexamic acid one time a day during experiment to prevent thrombolysis. The mean pulmonary artery pressure(mPAP),right ventricular hypertrophy index(RVHI),relative medial thickness of small pulmonary arteries(PAMT) and vessel wall area/total area(WA/TA) were measured. The levels of ROCK I mRNA and TGF-?1 protein in rat pulmonary artery were determined by in situ hybridization, immunohistochemistry and image analysis, respectively.RESULTS: mPAP,PAMT and WA/TA were higher respectively in embolism from 4 weeks group to 12 weeks group than those in beginning control group(mPAP: all P

ObjectiveTo establish a method for measuring exhaled nitric oxide (eNO)concentrations in neonates with and without hypoxemic respiratory failure ( HRF), and to investigate the relationship between eNO and respiratory parameters in neonates with HRF. Methods Twenty-two newborn infants with HRF and 26 control neonates were included within the first 24 hours of postnatal life.Their eNO levels were detected with a rapid-response chemiluminescence analyzer daily during the first week of their postnatal life, and lung mechanics and gas exchange efficiency were monitored at the same time, such as pulse oxygen saturation ( SpO2 ), inspired fraction of oxygen ( FiO2 ) and other parameters.Wilcoxon Mann-Whitney U tests were used to compare eNO, SpO2/FiO2 and eNO/ ( SpO2/FiO2 × 100) in two groups. Pearson's correlation analyses were used to determine the relationships between eNO levels and indices of hypoxemic respiratory failure. ResultsDuring the first two days of postnatal life, eNO values of HRF neonates were higher than those of the control neonates[day 1,(7. 9 ± 3.2 )× 10-9 vs. (5.8 ±1.8)×10-9, P<0.05;day2, (8.8±3.2)×10-9vs. (6.0±2.4)×10-9, P<0. 05], butthere were no significant differences in the following days. With SpO2/FiO2 increasing, difference of eNO values between the HRF and non-HRF controls became narrowed, but there was still two fold difference of eNO/(SpO2/FiO2 × 100) on day 5-7. ConclusionsA method for measuring eNO was established and there was difference in neonates with and without HRF, which diminished with prolonged postnatal days, reflecting pathophysiological characteristics of HRF.

Objective To observe the expression of HER-2 and TOPO-Ⅱα in ovarian epithelial cancer, analyze the correlation between their expression and provide theoretical basis for clinical diagnosis, prognosis and treatment. Methods Expression levels of HER-2 and TOPO- Ⅱα in 10 normal ovarian tissues,20 benign tumors and 58 cases of ovarian epithelial cancers were detected by immunohistochemical method, and their correlations with pathological features were analyzed. Results The positive expression rate of HER-2 in normal ovarian and benign tumor tissues were significantly lower than ovarian epithelial cancers respectively ( 10. 0% , 15.0% VS 46. 6% ;P < 0. 05 ). The positive expression rate of TOPO- Ⅱα in ovarian epithelial cancers was significantly higher than normal and benign epithelial ovarian tumor tissue (53.4% vs 10. 0%, and 15.0%,Ps < 0. 05 ), but we did not find significant difference in the comparison between normal and benign epithelial ovarian tumor tissue ( Ps > 0. 05 ). The expression of HER-2 and TOPO- Ⅱα were significantly correlated with clinical stages, histological differentiation of tumor cells (Ps < 0. 05 ) ,but there were no correlations between the age or histological type. In ovarian cancer tissues, a positive correlation between the expression of HER-2 and TOPO- Ⅱα was observed ( r = 0. 324, P < 0. 05 ) . Conclusion The overexpression of HER-2 and TOPO- Ⅱαplay an important role in ovarian carcinogenesis and development. The expression of HER-2 is positively correlated with TOPO- Ⅱα in ovarian epithelial cancers. Coexpression of the two moleculars may be involved in the development and progression of ovarian epithelial cancer, which should be further studied.

Chinese Journal of Ultrasonography 2021;30(5):414-419
Objective:To evaluate the accuracy of two-dimensional ultrasound(2D-US), three-dimensional volume ultrasound (3D-US) and ultrasound strain elastography (USE) in the measurement of preoperative tumor size of breast cancer and its influencing factors. Methods:A total of 101 patients with breast cancer in Nanfang Hospital of Southern Medical University from April to November 2016 were recruited in this study. The maximum diameter of the lesion was examined by 2D-US 3D-US and USE before core needle biopsy or surgery biopsy. The Bland-Altman analysis and intraclass correlation coefficient (ICC) were used to analyze the consistency between the ultrasonic technique measurements and the pathological measurements of postoperative lesion. Chi-square test or Fisher exact test was used to analyze whether the accuracy of three imaging techniques was affected by different clinical pathologic factors and imaging characteristics.Results:3D-US showed better agreement with histology than 2D-US and USE, with a higher ICC (ICC 3D-US=0.90>ICC 2D-US=0.81>ICC SUE=0.78) and low variation. In 3D-US, the accuracy rate of the age >40 years old group was higher than ≤40 years old group. In 2D-US, the measurement accuracy of invasive ductal carcinoma (IDC) without intraductal carcinoma in situ (DCIS) group was higher than DCIS with DCIS group, non-microcalcifications group was more accurate than microcalcifications group. The long diameter of lesion ≤2 cm group was more accurate than >2 cm group, IDC group was more accurate than invasive lobular carcinoma(ILC) group. In USE, the measurement accuracy of IDC without DCIS group was higher than DCIS with DCIS group, non-microcalcifications group was more accurate than microcalcifications group. All the differences mentioned above were statistically significant(all P<0.05). Conclusions:For accurate measurement of the size of breast cancer lesions, 3D-US is the best, which is least affected by clinicopathological factors and imaging features, followed by 2D-US and USE. This has certain significance for clinically determining the extent of breast cancer lesions.
