3.Clinicopathologic characteristics and prognosis of young non.mall cell lung cancer patients
Cancer Research and Clinic 2012;24(6):427-430
The morbidity of young non-small cell lung cancer(NSCLC)increases in the recent years.Young group patients should be defined as age under 40 years old.The risk factors of etiology in the young NSCLC may be related with smoking, genetic predisposition,Internal and external environment factors havoc and etc. There is no specific symptoms of young NSCLC,therefor,it happens misdiagnosis and harder to be confirmed. The morbidity in young female group of NSCLC patients is higher than aged patients. The most frequent histopathologic type is adenocarcinoma and the ratio of advanced stages with low differentiation has been found to be more common. The chances of surgery seems lower than others.EGFR gene mutation percentage in the young NSCLC maybe lower than that in the old patients, while the positive mutation of MEL4-ALK gene maybe more prevalent in the young patients. The prognosis of young NSCLC seems to be poor with lower tumor progression time of the first line therapy.Better prognosis of young NSCLC patients maybe achieved by early diagnosis and efficient therapy according to the accurate genotypes.
4.Expression of nuclear factor-kappa B and zinc finger protein A20 in keloid
Chinese Journal of Medical Aesthetics and Cosmetology 2012;18(4):286-289
Objective To investigate the protein and mRNA expression of NF-κB and zinc finger protein A20 in the keloid and normal skin and to explore its underlying molecular biological mechanism. Methods The protein and mRNA expression of NF-κB p65 and zinc finger protein A20 in keloid and normal skin was detected by immunohistochemistry and real time quantitative reverse transcription-polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR).Results The protein and mRNA expression of NF-κB p65 in keloid tissues was higher than those in normal skin tissues (P<0.05).The protein and mRNA expression of zinc finger protein A20 in keloid tissues was lower than those in normal skin tissues (P<0.05).Conclusions NF-κB signal pathways and zinc finger protein A20 could play a role in keloid pathogenesis.
5.Thyroid autoimmunity and miscarriage: a meta-analysis
Chinese Journal of Endocrinology and Metabolism 2010;26(3):203-208
Objective To investigate the association between thyroid autoimmunity (TAI) and miscarriage. Methods A systematic review of both case-control and cohort studies on the association between TAI and miscarriage published before March 2009 was performed. All the literatures were abstracted based on the defined selection criteria by two independent investigators.Publication bias was tested by funnel plot. The odd ratios of case-control studies and relative risks of cohort studies were pooled respectively, depending on the result of heterogeneity test among the individual studies. The software Review Manager (version 4.3.1) was used for meta analysis. Results Electronic search yielded 23 articles,4 of which were reviews and were excluded. The remaining 19 clinical studies met the selection criteria,of which 7 were case-control studies and 12 cohort studies.A clear association between the presence of thyroid autoantibodies (TA) and miscarriage was found with a pooled odds ratio of 2.72 (95% CI 1.27-5.80,P = 0.01) in 7 case-control studies, and a pooled relative risk of 2.41 (95% CI 1.96-2.96,P<0.01) in 12 cohort studies.Women with TA were found to have slightly older age (age difference,1.29 years,95% CI 0.43-2.16,P = 0.003) and raised TSH levels (TSH difference,0.61 mIU/L,95% CI 0.51-0.71,P<0.01) compared with those without TA.Conclusion TAI is significantly associated with miscarriage, which can be interpreted as the direct involvement of TA.Alternatively, the association can be partially explained by the slightly older age in women with TA compared with those without.A third possibility is mild thyroid failure,as TSH levels in TA-positive but euthyroid women are higher than in TA-negative women.
6.Anesthetic effects of articaine hydrochloride and epinephrine tartrate injection in oral treatment of elder patient
Chinese Journal of Primary Medicine and Pharmacy 2008;15(2):271-272
Objective To observe the anesthetic effects of articaine hydrochloride and epinephrine tartrate injection in oral treatment of elder patients. Methods 66 teeth of 56 elder patients were treated.Pain intensity was scaled by VAS.Pulse and blood pressure were observed before and after drugs administration for 0,5 minutes.ResuIts Pain during injection of articaine hydrochloride and epinephrine tartrate injection and surgery subsequently was rare. The total respouse rate was 95%~100%.No significent toxic effects were found.Pulse and blood pressure remained after injection. Conclusion Articaine hydrochloride and epinephrine tartrate injection was one of local anesthetics with good infiltration, safety and anesehetic effect. It would be more widely used in elder patients oral treatment field in the future.
7.Prevention and Control of Nosocomial Infection in Pharmacy Intravenous Admixture Services
Chinese Journal of Nosocomiology 2006;0(05):-
OBJECTIVE To explore the effective quality management in the pharmacy intravenous admixture services(PIVAS) adapting to the needs of modern hospital quality management.METHODS The PIVAS was run under the hospital administration by the methods of objective monitoring and grade-based administration.RESULTS The high risk factors of nosocomial infection were revented, which guaranteed the safety of transfusion to the inpatients and protection for the preparing workers, thus nosocomial infection was decreased effectively.CONCLUSIONS A series of practical management system and processes are builtup to promote the management of hospital infection and to guarantee the quality of medical service.
8.Clinical application of magnetic attachments in complete overdentures
Medical Journal of Chinese People's Liberation Army 1981;0(04):-
Objective To evaluate the clinical effects of magnetic attachments in complete overdenture. Methods Casting method was used to fabricate Coping-Keepers for remained roots, and the patients were followed up for 6 months to check the effects of the overdentures retained with Magfit EX attachments. In the experimental group, 21 complete overdentures were made with 33 Magfit EX magnetic attachments for 18 patients. Eleven patients treated with traditional complete overdentures were selected to act as control. The retention force, aspect and comfortableness were subjectively evaluated by the patients of the both groups. Abutment status was observed and compared before and after cementation of the magnetic attachments by measuring periodontal index, including gingival index (GI), sulcus bleeding index (SBI) and bleeding on probing (BOP), etc. Masticatory function of patients in the both groups was measured at 3 time points: immediate, 3 months and 6 months after cementation. Results Patients in experimental group were more satisfied with complete overdentures made up of magnetic attachments than those in control group, especially in retention force and masticatory efficiency and aspect. Magnetic attachments can provide enough retention force for patients and greatly improved the masticatory efficiency and the abutment condition. The masticatory function was to be perfect and stable after 3-6 months. Furthermore, the mobility and periodontal index of most abutments improved after 6 months. Conclusion It is proved that magnetic attachments are effective to improve the function of complete overdentures, worthy to be used widely. It is suggested that the residual root and loosened tooth should be preserved furthest as possible in clinic.
9.Circulating microRNA in lung cancer
Journal of International Oncology 2015;42(9):693-695
MicroRNAs (miRNAs) negatively mediate the post transcriptional target genes by degrading mRNAs and inhibiting translation of protein.Deregulation of miRNAs are directly or indirectly correlated with tumorigenesis and development of cancer.Currently, the application of miRNAs as a non-invasive potential biomarker with high stability is under investigation.
10.A case-control study on the risk factors of recurrence and metastasis in breast cancer
Chinese Journal of Practical Nursing 2015;31(11):795-799
Objective To explore the risk factors of breast cancer recurrence for the cause exploration and prevention of the disease. Methods With matched case-control method,a survey was conducted among survival cases of histologically diagnosed breast cancer patients in Southern hospital from January 2004 to December 2007 in Guangzhou city. The survival cases were divided into case group and control group according to the inclusion criteria.Unconditional logistic model was used to analyze the data. Results Multiple factors logistic regression analysis showed mental stimulations [OR =10.926,95%CI (5.041-23.682)],oral contraceptive pills history [OR=2.634,95%CI(1.548-4.482)],benign breast disease history [OR=5.183,95%CI(2.100-12.790)],human epiderma growth factor receptor-2 (HER2) positive [OR=2.257,95%CI (1.326-3.843)],lymph node metastasis [OR=2.021,95%CI (1.272-3.212)],distant metastasis [OR=3.718,95%CI (2.125-6.503)] might be associated with the increasing breast cancer recurrence risk.Regular exercise [OR=0.460,95%CI(0.234-0.905)],low stage of disease [OR=0.106,95%CI(0.022-0.498)],breast nursing time [OR=0.053,95%CI(0.009-0.316)],dietary intake of soy isflavones[OR=0.154,95%CI (0.032-0.745)] might be associated with the decreasing breast cancer recurrence risk. Conclusions Clinical medical staff should take attention to the breast cancer who had benign breast disease history to ensure timely check-ups,early detection, early diagnosis and early treatment.Improving physical and psychological quality, reducing oral contraceptive pills, prolonging breast nursing time, and increasing dietary intake of soy isflavones were important to the prevention of breast cancer recurrence.
