Objective To explore the clinical features and treatment of polycythemia vera(PV)complicating stroke. Methods Clinical data of 27 cases of PV complicating stroke were analysed retrospectively.Results(1)Among all the cases,PV complicating cerebral infarction were 22 cases(81.5%),among the 22 cases,18 cases(66.7%)of multiple cerebral infarction,2 cases(7.4%)of transient ischemic attack,2 cases(7.4%)of cerebral hemorrhage,1 case(3.7%)of subarachnoid hemorrhage(SAH).The patients's clinical manifestation, physical sign, hemogram, marrow characteristic were consistent with that of PV diagnosis criteria.(2)Imageology check show that small infarction focus were common(66.7%).Lobe of brain, basal ganglia, capsula interna were common place of cerebral infarction. The density of hemorrhagic focus was asymmetrical, there was obvious edema around the hemorrhagic focus.(3)Applied vein blood-letting and small dose chemotherapy,8 cases were recovery,18 cases were obviously improved,1 case of stroke was invalid. Conclusion The cerebral infarction are common in PV complicating stroke.Among all the PV complicating stroke cases, multiple cerebral infarction are the most common, cerebral hemorrhage and subarachnoid hemorrhage are few, vein blood-letting and small dose chemotherapy has a good curative effect for the patients.

Objective To explore the selection of reasonable interventional treatment to portal hypertension under different conditions. Methods The data of 76 patients with portal hypertension and interventional treatment from 1997 to 2002 were retrospectively analyzed. 26 patients were treated with transjugular intrahepatic porto-systemic stent shunt (TIPSS). Of these 26 patients, 11 patients suffered from hemorrhage after surgery treatment by devascularization, 6 patients with hemorrhage after stomach mirror treatment, and 9 patients with ineffective medicine treatment. 50 patients were treated with percutaneous transhepatic variceal embolization (PTVE) combined with partial splenic embolization (PSE), and they all showed inefficacy by medicine treatment. Free portal pressure (FPP) in pre- and post-treatment was measured in all 76 cases. The hepatic volume was measured by spiral-CT before and one year after the treatment. Results In TIPSS group, FPP was reduced from (3.85?0.42) kPa to (3.09?0.44) kPa (( t= 3.682, P

Objective To observe the protective effect of goserelin on ovarian function of premenopausal patients with breast cancer during chemotherapy. Methods Forty patients with breast cancer under 40 received adjuvant chemotherapy were randomly divided intotest group(20 cases) and control group (20 cases). Compared the recovery rate and time of menstruation between two groups. Results All the 40 patients finished the treatment. Recovery ratio of normal ovarian function in test group and control group was 75% and 50% (P =0.013) respectively, and the median menstrual recovery time in two groups was 4.65 months and 6.65 months (P = 0.046) respectively. Statistically significant differences were found between two groups. Conclusion Goserelin can effectively protect ovarian function during chemotherapy , increase the ratio of normal ovarian function, shorten menstrual recovery time, and shows good tolerance.

Objective To explore the prevalence and clinical features of hyperuricemia in elderly people and to analyze the influencing factors of hyperuricemia in elderly people. Methods Serum uric acid (SUA) levels in 1500 elderly people were examined by the uricase-peroxidase enzymatic method .Clinical parameters of hyperuricemia group and normal SUA group were comparatively analyzed. Logistic regression was used to analyze the influencing factors of SUA in elderly people. Results In 264 out of 1500 (17.6%) the SUA level were increased. The ratio of male to female in the hyperuricemia group was 256:8. The proportion of the patients with increased SUA levels, mean level of SUA, serum urea nitrogen, serum creatinine and serum triglyceride were all increased with age. As compared with the normal SUA group, the hyperuricemia group were more prone to have adiposis hepatica (P

Objective To evaluated the role of wt-P53 protein in telomerase regulation in keloid fibroblasts(KFBs). Methods The fibroblasts were derived from human keloid tissue which was proved by pathological diagnosis. KFBs were divided into 2 groups, the transfection group and the untransfection group. wt-p53 gene was transfected into the fibroblasts by adenovirus vectors in the transfection group. The KFBs untransfected with wt-p53 gene served as control (untransfection group). After 48 hours of transfection, the expression of wt-P53 protein was analyzed by both Western blotting and immunofluorescence method, respectively. The telomerase activity was evaluated by TRAP-ELISA after 1-7 days of transfection. Results All the KFBs from 2 groups expressed wt-P53 protein. But the expression level of wt-P53 protein in the transfection group was significantly higher than that in the untransfection group. At the same time of high expression of wt-P53 protein, the telomerase activity of KFBs in transfection group was significantly lower than that in the untransfection group( P<0.05). Conclusion High level expression of wt-P53 protein can transiently inhibit the telomerase activity of KFBs.

Produced by bone cells and stored in the matrix.bone ceil growth factor can contribute to the regulation of bone growth.Gene regulation has its role in bone development. Many factors of this kind have been founded recently. They play their role during the bone formation and absorption processes in the way of autocrine and paracrine. The genes of core binding factor α_1(Cbfα_1)and estrogen receptor α(Erα)have been the recent years'hot factors that are related to the bone development,Gene polymorphism refers to variation on gene level which often occurs in the non-coding domain or the domain bearing no important regulatory function in gene order. This article reviewed the research status of the relation between Cbfα_1 and Erα gene polymorphism with bone development.

Objective:To evaluate the efficacy and safety of micronised fenofibrate on lipid and uric acid metabolism in patients with hyperlipidemia. Methods: A total of 116 patients with hypertriglyceridemia and hyperuricemia received 200 mg micronised fenofibrate for 4 weeks.Physical and laboratory investigations of lipid profiles, serum uric acid, and 24 h urine uric acid, for adverse effects were assessed.Results:(1) Serum triglyceride(TG) was significantly reduced by 51%,whilst high density lipoprotein cholesterol(HDL-C) increased 24% after 4-week fenofibrate treatment. Moreover, serum total cholesterol(TC) and low density lipoprotein cholesterol(LDL-C) were reduced by 10% and 12%,respectively.(2) Serum uric acid levels were significantly reduced by 28.3% [from(462.8?73.5) ?mol/L to(320.1?83.0) ?mol/L] after fenofibrate treatment, independent of baseline uric acid le-vels.There was no difference in serum uric acid changes between male gender and female gender(29.8% and 25.1%,respectively).(3) Urine uric acid levels were increased by 36.0% [from(2 874.2?503.4) ?mol/L to(3 604.2?769.7) ?mol/L].The urine uric acid changes were 41.1% in male gender group and 33.4% in female gender group. The uric acid clearance/creatinin clearance ratio was increased in all cases after treatment. Conclusion: Micronised fenofibrate treatment could significantly improve lipid and uric acid metabolism in patients with hypertriglyceridemia and hyperuricemia, and is ge-nerally safe and well tolerated. The anti-hyperuricemic effect of fenofibrate is a result of increasing the urinary excertion of uric acid, independent of baseline level and gender.
