Objective To investigate epidemiological characteristics in hospitalized adolescents and children who suffered from traffic injuries,such as source and location of an accident,the victim's gender arid age,and the site of injury.Methods The chosen subjects were 163 hospitalized children aged 1 to 18 years old,who were admitted to general hospitals in Shanghai in the years of 2004 to 2005 as a result of traffic injuries.Descriptive statistics and analysis were used to interpret the data.Results Children of immigrant workers and suburban residents were the main victims ;the main cause of injury was the collision between the motor vehicle and the pedestrian;this type of traffic injury was the most prevalent among children between 5 to 9 years old;and the locations of the injury was most commonly found in the head,the face, and the extremities.Conclusions From this statistical evidence,it could be concluded that it would be worthwhile for the government to pay more attention to children of immigrants and suburban residents to effectively educate them about traffic safety and knowledge,tt is also advisable to improve the safety protection and post - traffic injury care of children passengers.

Objective Selecting doxorubicin and tetrandrine as model drug to prepare complex liposomes, study the methods of preparation, and research its release property in vitro. Methods The formulation of tetrandrine-doxorubicin complex liposomes was optimized by three different kinds of methods. And the optimum formula was selected through the orthogonal test according to the entrapment efficiency. Results Tetrandrine-doxorubicin complex liposomes were prepared by (NH4)2SO4-gradient method combined with pH gradient method. One optimum recipe was founded that tetrandrine-doxorubicin complex liposomes/ egg phosphatidyl choline was 1∶20, egg phosphatidyl choline/cholesterol was 3∶1, pH value was 7.6, incubation temperature was 50 ℃, concentration of (NH4)2SO4 was 250 mmol/L. The doxorubicin completely released within 24 h, and the tetrandrine released within 16 h. Conclusion Tetrandrine-doxorubicin complex liposomes have high entrapment efficiency with fine-looking, which is better for the further studies

Objective To observe the effect of apolipoprotein E mimetic peptide (ApoE23) on lipopolysaccharide (LPS) levels in plasma and the regulatory role of ApoE23 on low density lipoprotein receptor (LDLR) on liver cells in the septic mice.Methods An ApoE mimetic peptide was designed and referred terminologically as ApoE23 in abbreviation.ApoE23 was synthesized by using solid phase synthesis assay and were refined by using high performance liquid chromatography (HPLC).The peptide was identified and confirmed by using electron spray ionization mass spectrometry and amino acid composition analysis.The C57BL mice infected with Salmonella typhimurium group B were treated with apoE23 injected into tail vein.The plasma LPS levels were measured by using immunoturbidimetry.The LDLR expression and level on liver cells were measured by real time PCR and western blot respectively.Results The plasma LPS levels significantly increased and the liver LDLR expression decreased in the septic mice.ApoE23 treatment markedly reduced the plasma LPS levels and redressed the LDLR down-expressions on liver cells both in mRNA and protein levels compared to the septic mice without ApoE23 treatment.Conclusions The reduction of LPS level after ApoE23 treatment may be associated with the modulation role of ApoE23 in LDLR expression on liver cells,and ApoE23 may be a potential agent against bacterial sepsis as well.One of possible mechanisms was most likely associated with effect of ApoE23 on LDLR expression.

Objective To survey the employment intention of medical students in different universities in China.Methods A total of 1354 fourth-year or above medical students from 6 medical universities in China were selected for survey by random cluster sampling.A self-designed questionnaire was used to investigate the basic information of students and their employment intention.Results Overall 46.5％ (620/1333) of all students choose cities in economically-developed region as their desired working sites.45.5 ％ (363/797) of students studying in 4 Shanghai medical universities and 34.5％ (185/536) in other 2 non-Shanghai universities would first choose their original cities as working sites,respectively.81.3％ (1078/1326) of students preferred working in large public hospital,especially for those studying for higher degrees (88.0％,581/660).51％ of undergraduates expected 4000 RMB as monthly pay for graduation.Male students (54.6％,332/608) expected more income than female (47.9％,335/700),graduates (57.9％,377/651) expected higher payment than undergraduates (44.1％,290/657).Conclusion The survey shows that medical students in China mainly prefer cities and large public hospitals as working sites for their career development.

Objective To investigate effect of applying nursing flowchart in the post-anesthesia care unit(PACU).Method The nursing flowchart in PACU are as follous,including a ventilator connection,monitoring instrument connection,handover of pipeline and skin and training for PACU nurses.Results After application of the nursing flowchart,the nursing time for postoperative patients was reduced from 7.0 min to 4.0 min.No nursing risks and adverse events occurred.Conclusion Application of nursing flowchart in PACU can improve the quality of nursing and enhance patients safety.

Objective To investigate the association between polymorphism of TNFα-308 and mutations of HBV C region in patients with chronic HBV infection. Methods Ninety-five patients with chronic HBV infection were recruited in the study. The single nucleotide polymorphism(SNP) of TNFα-308 Was determined by restriction fragment length polymorphism(RFLP). Mutations of nt1762/1764, nt1896, nt1899, nt1862, as60, aa87 and as97 in HBV C region were detected by direct sequencing after PCR amplification. Mutations of the above points among different genotypes were compared by Fisher's exget test. Results Three different genotypes G/G(63/95, 66.3%), G/A(28/95, 29.5%) and A/A(4/95, 4.2%) were found in TNFα-308 site. The rates of mutations of aa87 and aa97 points in patients with G/G, G/A and A/A genotype were 39.3%(24/61), 11.5%(3/26) and 50.0% (2/4), respectively(F=7.658, P<0.05);while the mutation rates of nt1762/1764, nt1896, nt1864, nt1899 and aa60 were of no statistical significance among different genotypes(F=0.669, 1.542, 1.123, 2.420 and 0.966, P>0.05). Conclusion Compared with G/G genotype, antigenicity of HBV may be more stable in patients with TNFα-308 G/A genotype, which is beneficial to HBV clearance.

Objective To investigate whether genotypes of CYP3A5,MDR1 and cyclooxygenase-2 are associated with the sensitivity of vinorelbine-platinum to NSCLC.Methods The genotypes of CYP3A5(*3),MDR1 (2677G>T at exon 21 and 3435C>T at exon 26 and their haplotypes),cyclooxygenase-2 (-1 195G>A) were determined by RFLP-PCR and chemotherapy responses were analyzed in 69 non-small-celllung cancer (NSCLC) Chinese Han patients.They received a combination chemotherapy of vinorelbine-cispla-tin.Chi-square test was used to investigate the potential association of genotype with chemotherapy response.OR and 95% C1 were calculated.Results The 3435 CC genotype was associated with a significantly betterchemotherapy response compared with the combined 3435 CT and 1Tr genotypes(P=0.033).The 2677 GG genotype was also associated with a significantly better chemotherapy response compared with the combined 2677 GT and IT genotype(P=0.012).Moreover.patients with the 2677 G-3435 C haplotype seemed to have a better response to chemotherapy compared with those with the other haplotypes(P=0.063).CYP3A5*3 was not likely to correlate with sensitivity of vinorelbine-platinum to NSCLC.Cyclooxygenase-2-1195G>A was likely to have better response to vinorelbine but not statistically significant(P=0.067).Conclusion Polymor-Dhisms of MDR1 3435 C>T and MDR1 2677 G>A/T can be used for predicting treatment response to vinorel-bine-cisplatin chemotherapy in NSCLC patients.

ObjectiveTo discuss the clinical results of surgical reduction and fixation via posterolateral knee approach in the treatment of postemlateral tibial plateau fractures.MethodsThe study involved 32 patients with posterolateral tibial plateau fractures treated through posterolateral knee approaches from January 2006 to July 2009.There were 19 males and 13 females,at the age of 27-70 years (mean,38.1 years).Injury causes included traffic injuries in 19 patients,high fall injuries in nine and other in four.There were seven patients combined with anterior cruciate ligament injuries,which was all tibial plateau insertion avulsion. Results All patients were followed up for 12-36 months (mean,18.2 months),which showed bone union,without presence of incisional infection,loosening or breakage of screws,varus or valgus deformity of the knee,or fracture redisplacement.One patient had tension injury of common peroneal nerve postoperatively and recovered after two months conservative treatment of Methycobal.According to the Rasmussen knee function score,the results were excellent in 19 patients,good in 11 and fair in two,with excellence rate of 94％.ConclusionPosterolateral knee approach facilitates the reduction and fixation of posterolateral tibial plateau fractures and has advantages of clear exposure,convenient placement of internal fixation,small invasion and good clinical results.

OBJECTIVE: To draw a comparison between the two preparative technologies of tetrandrine liposomes. METHODS: Tetrandrine liposomes were prepared with ammonium sulfate transmembrane gradient method and film dispersion method respectively. Leaking ratio,particle size,and content of phospholipid of liposomes were selected as the parameters to indicate the stability of liposomes,and the entrapment efficiency was taken as quality index to compare the two preparation technologies. RESULTS: Tetrandrine liposomes prepared with ammonium sulfate transmembrane gradient technology achieved high entrapment efficiency of 81.1% and good stability,while those prepared by film dispersion method had an entrapment efficiency of only 32.9% with poor stability. CONCLUSION: Ammonium sulfate transmembrane gradient method is feasible and superior to the film dispersion method in the preparation of tetrandrine liposome.
