OBJECTIVE:To investigate the protective effect of Compound ginkgo leaf granules on liver function damage of acute pancreatitis. METHODS:Totally 82 patients with severe acute pancreatitis(SAP)complicated with liver function damage se-lected from our hospital during Sept. 2013-Sept. 2015 were randomized into control group and observation group according to ran-dom number table, with 41 cases in each group. Control group was given SAP related routine therapy. On the basis of the control group, observation group was additionally given Compound ginkgo leaf granules 5 g added into warm boiled water 80 mL via naso-gastric tube, tid, one week as a treatment course, for 2 courses. The remission time of abdominal pain, serum amylase recovery time, length of hospital stay and adverse drug reactions were observed in 2 groups. The levels of serum amylase,ALT,TBIL, AST,γ-GT,ALB,IL-6,TNF-α,creotoxin concentration,MDA,SOD,GSH-Px,total antioxidant capacity(TAC)and peripher-al blood PMN NF-κB levels were determined in 2 groups before and after treatment. RESULTS:In control group,3 patients with-drew from the study and 38 patients completed the study;in observation group,6 patients withdrew from the study and 35 patients completed the study. The remission time of abdominal pain, recovery time of serum amylase and the length of hospital stay in obser-vation group were significantly shorter than control group, with statistical significance (P<0.05). Before treatment, there was no statistical significance in the levels of serum amylase,ALT,TBIL,AST,γ-GT,ALB,IL-6,TNF-α,creotoxin concentration, MDA,SOD,GSH-Px,TAC and NF-κB between 2 groups(P>0.05). After treatment, the levels of serum amylase,ALT,TBIL, AST,γ-GT,IL-6,TNF-α,creotoxin concentration,NF-κB and MDA in 2 groups were decreased significantly, while the levels of ALB,SOD,GSH-Px and TAC were increased significantly;the observation group was significantly lower or higher than the con-trol group, with statistically significant (P<0.05). There was no statistical significance in the incidence of ADR between 2 groups (P>0.05). CONCLUSIONS:Compound ginkgo leaf granules can significantly decrease serum amylase, protect liver function, with good safety. The mechanismmay be inhibiting the release of inflammatory factors, improving oxidative stress reactions, reduce the concentration of creotoxin and inhibiting the activity of NF-κB.

Zusanli (ST 36), Shangjuxu (ST 37) and Xiajuxu (ST 39) are considered as the lower He-sea points, which are located along the leg lines of stomach meridian of foot Yangming from top to bottom. According to the corresponding zang-fu of lower He-sea points, the distribution order from top to bottom is stomach, large intestine and small intestine. This is significantly different from digestive physiology function sequence of stomach, small intestine and large intestine in modern medicine. However, it conforms to their anatomical position from top to bottom. In order to make a further confirmation that the indication specificity of Zusanli (ST 36), Shangjuxu (ST 37) and Xiajuxu (ST 39) is closely associated with anatomical location, a great number of ancient and modern literature is reviewed. It is found that the functions of the three acupoints are obviously related to stomach, large intestine and small intestine, respectively, indicating that the sequence of Zusanli (ST 36), Shangjuxu (ST 37) and Xiajuxu (ST 39) is related to anatomical position of corresponding zang-fu. This study conclusion could play an important role for exploring the significance of anatomical location in indication specificity of acupoints.

Journal of Peking University(Health Sciences) 2015;(3):390-394
Objective:To explore the relations among screen-based sedentary behaviors ( SSB) , family factors and body mass index ( BMI) of children, and to study how family factors have effect on BMI through influencing SSB. Methods:A total of 1 846 students aged 7-11 years from 12 primary schools in one district of Beijing were included. Their body weight and height were measured to calculate the BMI. The time of SSB and family factors were investigated by using questionnaires. The time of SSB was the total time of watching TV and videos, playing computer games and iPad each day during the past 7 days recalled by children. The family factors included the parents’ education, occupation, the parents’ time of SSB, whether the parents told their child the harm of SSB, the parents’ time limit for the children’ s SSB. The parents’ education and occupation were used for calculating the family socioeconomic score. Results:The median time of SSB for children was 1 hour/day, and the interquartile range was 1 hour/day. The BMI of the children with the parents’ time limit for the children’ s SSB less than 120 min/day were smaller than the children with the parents’ time limit not less than 120 min/day, in both the boys (1. 63 kg/m2,P<0. 001) and the girls (0. 85 kg/m2, P=0. 004). The family socioeconomic score, the parents’ SSB time, whether the parents told their children the harm of SSB were not related to the children’ s BMI . The mediation effects of SSB time for children on the association between the parents’ time limit for the children’s SSB and BMI were-0. 222 kg/m2(95%CI:-0. 432, -0. 095) for boys and-0. 187 kg/m2 (95%CI: -0. 507, -0. 049) for girls , which accounted for 13. 67% of the total effects for boys and 22. 11% for girls. Conclusion:The parents’ time limit for the children’ s SSB has effect on their BMI through influencing their SSB time. Parents’ supervision on the behaviors of children produces larger benefit for BMI than health education conveyed by parents. Therefore, parents’ participation in su-pervising the behaviors of children are indispensable for preventing and controlling childhood obesity.

OBJECTIVETo study the effect of laminarin polysaccharide (LP) on the activity of matrix metalloproteinase of photoaging skins.
METHODKunming SPF mice were prepared with back hair shaved, and randomly divided into the control group, the model group, the LP low does group (LP-L, 1 mg x kg(-1)), the LP high dose group (LP-H, 5 mg x kg(-1)) and the Vit E (100 mg x kg(-1)) group. They were abdominally injected with drugs twice on a daily basis. Except for the control group, all groups were exposed to ultraviolet rays for 1 hour every day, five times on a weekly basis, with accumulated exposure dose of UVB being 21.60 J x cm(-2) and accumulated exposure dose of UVA being 84.02 J x cm(-2). Eight weeks later, exposed back skins were collected to detect thickness of dermis by HE stain, content of hydroxyproline (Hyp) by chemical colorimetry, and serum MMP-1 and TIMP-1 content by ELISA. In addition, matrix metalloproteinase-1 (MMP-1) mRNA and relative content of tissue inhibitor of metalloproteinase-1 (TIMP1) mRNA was analyzed with Real-time PCR.
RESULTCompared with the model group, the LP-H group could significantly increase the thickness of dermis, skin Hyp content and serum TIMP-1 level, and decrease relative content of MMP-1 mRNA in skin and MMP-1 content in serum.
CONCLUSIONLP can regulate the metabolism of collagen photoaging skins by adjusting the activity of matrix metalloproteinase.

AIM: To observe the effects of superoxide dismutase (SOD), glutathione peroxidase (GSH-Px), myeloperoxidase (MPO) and transforming growth factor-β1 (TGF-β1) of radiation-induced lung injury rats by Kiwi fruit essence (unsaturated fatty acid of actinidia chinesis planch seed oil). METHODS: According to random number table, 90 Sprague-Dawley rats were divided into the control group, model group, 60 mg/kg unsaturated fatty acid of actinidia chinesis planch seed oil intervention group, 120 mg/kg unsaturated fatty acid of actinidia chinesis planch seed oil intervention group, 240 mg/kg unsaturated fatty acid of actinidia chinesis planch seed oil intervention group, 18 animals were included in each group. Except for the control group, rats in the remaining groups were constructed by 6MV-X-ray 18Gy full chest radiation, one week before modeling, the rats in the last 3 groups were given (60, 120, 240) mg/kg unsaturated fatty acid of actinidia chinesis planch seed oil. The first two groups were given 0.9% sodium chloride solution by gavage, once a day in each rat. 14 days, 28 days, and 56 days after radiation, the rats were randomly sacrificed and their chests were cut, and ave lung tissue was saved. HE and Masson staining were performed to observe the pathological changes, and the content of SOD, GSH-Px, MPO was determined. The expression of TGF-β1 was analyzed by immunohistochemical staining. RESULTS: Compared with the model group, (60, 120, 240) mg/kg unsaturated fatty acid of actinidia chinesis planch seed oil significantly reduced the degree of lung alveolitis and radiation pulmonary fibrosis, reduced the content of hydroxyproline (HYP), MPO, increased the antioxidant enzymes SOD and GSH-Px content, down-regulated the expression of TGF-β1.There were significant differences in the above-mentioned indicators among the intervention groups of (60, 120, 240) mg/kg unsaturated fatty acid of actinidia chinesis planch seed oil group, and it was positively correlated with dosage. CONCLUSION: Unsaturated fatty acid of actinidia chinesis planch seed oil has a preventive effect on radiation-induced lung injury, and its mechanism may be related to the reduction of oxidative stress damage and down-regulation of TGF-β1 expression.

Metastasis is the leading cause of mortality for cancer patients, and lymphatic metastasis is one of the main ways of tumor metastasis. The role of CCL21 and its receptor CCR7 in lymphatic metastasis has been increasingly concerned in recent years. CCR7 is mainly expressed by both dendritic cells and T cells for immune responses. CCL21, the chemokine ligand for CCR7, secreted from lymphatic endothelial cells binds CCR7 and recruits immune cells toward lymphatic vessels and lymphatic nodes. CCR7 expressed tumor cells can also metastasize to lymphatic system by the similar way as immune cells. Targeting CCL21/CCR7 axis to inhibit lymphatic metastasis but remain potent anti-tumor immune response has increasingly become a spot light of tumor immunotherapy. In this review, we summarize the role of CCL21/CCR7 axis in lymphatic metastasis, as well as preclinical trials and clinical trials in targeting CCL21/CCR7 axis for tumor metastasis therapy, hoping to accelerate the progress on tumor metastasis therapy by targeting CCL21/CCR7 axis.
