In the rabbit's myocardial sarcolemma and artificial biomem-brane-liposomes, the lipid peroxidation caused by free radical gene-arting system ( FeCls & ascorbic acid ) was significantly inhibited by taurine at the concentractions of 5~20 m mol/L, and the inhibition effects of taurine were both dose and time-dependent. The results showed that taurine had an antioxidation effects and served as a scavenger of free radicals at the level of membrane.

Objective To explore the type of circadian rhythms and risk factors for post-stroke insomnia. Methods From January, 2012 to June, 2014, the patients with cerebral middle artery infarction were divided into insomnia group (n=25) and control group (n=25). The general characterizations of the patients were collected. They were assessed with Morning and Evening Questionnaire (MEQ), Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index (PSQI), Insomnia Severity Index (ISI), Epworth Sleepiness Scale (ESS) and Fatigue Severity Scale (FSS). Results The MEQ score was lower in the insomnia group than in the control group (t=2.676, P<0.05). The frequency of moderate night type (20%) and absoluteness night type (4%) were higher in the insomnia group than in the control group. High score (>11) of National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS) was the independent risk foctor for post- stroke insomnia (OR=1.463, 95% CI=1.112- 1.925). The scores of ESS, PSQI, ISI and FSS were higher in the insomnia group than in the control group (t>5.609, P<0.001). The scores of ESS (r=0.334, P<0.05), FSS (r=0.535, P<0.01), PSQI (r=0.461, P=0.001) and ISI (r=0.504, P<0.01) were positively correlated with the NIHSS score. Conclusion The patients with post-stroke insomnia impair in circadian rhythms. High NIHSS score is the independent risk factor for post-stroke insom-nia.

AIM: To study the expression of mic2/CD99 protein and their correlation with Eber-1/LMP-1 in Hodgkin and Reed-Sternberg cells of classical Hodgkin's lymphoma. METHODS: Immunohistochemical staining, in situ hybrization and tissue microarry technique were used to detect the expressions of mic2/CD99 and Eber-1/LMP-1 of H/RS cells in 43 cases of cHL and 16 cases of NHL. RESULTS: The positive rate of CD99 protein expression in 43 cases of cHL was 2.3% (1/43) , mic2 was 55.8% (24/43), LMP1 was 58.1% (25/43) and Eber-1 was 53.5% (23/43). The expressions of CD99 and mic2 in the NHL group were higher than those in cHL group (P0.05). There was a negative correlation between the expression of CD99 protein and LMP1 in H/RS cells (P0.05). There was a significant correlation between the high expression of LMP1 and a low expression of CD99 in the young patients (P0.05). CONCLUSION: There is a negative correlation between the expression of LMP1 and CD99 in Hodgkin and Reed-Sternberg cells of classical Hodgkin's lymphoma.

Objectives. To investigate the role of endogenous heme oxygenase (HO)/carbon monoxide (CO) system in regulating the process of intussusception (IN) induced by administration of lipopolysaccharide (LPS) in rats.Methods. IN model of rats were induced by lipopolysaccharide. HO activity was determined by the amount of bilirubin formation which was measured with a double-beam spectrophotometer, and HbCO formation was measured by CO-oximeter.Results. The results showed that LPS (10mg/kg) caused IN in up to 40% of the rats at 6h after treatment of LPS. The incidence of IN were significantly increased by 50% (P<0.05) and by 83.2%(P<0.01) in HO substrate(heme-L-lysinate)-treated rats and in exogenous CO-treated rats, respectively; but it was significantly decreased by 41.8%(P<0.05) after administration of ZnDPBG, an inhibitor of heme oxygenase (HO) activity. Furthermore, LPS increased HO activity, HbCO formation cGMP content within colic smooth muscle and the plasma level of cGMP, and these parameters were significantly elevated by 62.6%(P<0.01), 40.0%(P<0.01), 49.3%(P<0.05) and 38.9%(P<0.05), respectively, compared with LPS-non-IN rats.Conclusion. It is suggested that endogenous HO/CO system plays an important role in the process of IN induced by LPS, and inhibition of HO activity may decrease the formation of IN.

Objective. In a model o f balloon injury of rat aortic endotheli um, the effects of C-type natriuretic pe ptide(CNP) on α1-adrenoreceptor and ino sitol 1,4,5-triphosphate (IP3) receptor were studied Methods. Aortic injuri es were produced by vascular endothelium -denudation.α1- adrenoreceptor in smoot h muscle sarcolemma and IP3 receptor in smooth muscle sarcoplasmic reticulum in the rat aorta were assayed by radioactiv e analysis method.Results. It was found that neointima was formed and the conten ts of DNA, collagen and elastin of each int ima-media were significantly increased i n 7 days and 21 days after balloon injury of rat aorta. α1-adrenoreceptor in smo oth muscle sarcolemma and IP3 receptor in sarcoplasmic reticulum were also upre gul ated. Results also showed that the admin i stration of CNP i.p significantly decrea sed the contents of DNA, collagen and el as tin of each intima-media, and inhibited the up-regulation of α1-adrenoreceptor and IP3 receptor.Conclusion. The inhibition of the up-regulation of α 1-adrenoreceptor and IP3 receptor by C NP might be one of the mechanisms of its suppressive action on intimal proliferation.

Objective. In a model of rat cardiac hypertrophy, the changes in the distribution of ET-1 receptors in two subcellular fractions, the sarcolemma and the light vesicles during myocardial hypertrophy were studied. Methods. Cardiac hypertrophy was produced by placing a constricting clip around the suprarenal abdominal aorta of rats, and ET-1 receptor was assayed with radioactive analysis method. Results. It was found that plasma and ventricular ET-1 levels increased significantly on week 2 and week 4 of pressure overload. ET-1 binding studies showed that during myocardial hypertrophy, the maximum binding capacity (Bmax) was increased by 41% (P<0.01) and 65% (P< 0.01) in sarcolemma in H-2 week and H-4 week groups, but was decreased by 24% (P< 0.01) and 21% (P< 0.01) in light vesicles. The sum of Bmax of sarcolemmal and light vesicle fractions was increased by 33% (P< 0.01) and 57% (P< 0.01) in group H-2 week and H-4 week, respectively. ? Conclusion. ET-1 receptors in rat heart were externalized from light vesicles to sarcolemma, which may contribute to the development of myocardial hypertrophy.

Objective To compare the clinical efficacy and safety of pegylated interferon α-2a (Peg IFN α-2a) or adefovir dipivoxil(ADV) monotherapy and their combination therapy in HBeAg positive chronic hepatitis B (CHB) patients. Methods An open randomized controlled multicenter clinical trial was performed. One hundred and twenty cases with CHB were divided into 3 groups: Peg IFN α-2a monotherapy (group A), ADV monotherapy (group B) and Peg IFN α-2a plus ADV combination therapy (group C). The virological response (VR), serological response (HBeAg, HBsAg clearance and seroconversion), biochemical response (BR) and sustained response (SR) were tested at week 24 and 48 of therapy and week 48 of follow-up after end of treatment (EOT) for'evaluation of therapeutic effects, safety and drug resistance. The efficacy was compared using X2 test. Results At week 48 of treatment, the VR (HBV DNA ≤500 copy/mL) rates were 36. 8%(14/38), 37. 5%(15/40) and 62. 9% (22/35), respectively in groups A, B and C; that in group C was higher than those in groups A and B (X2 = 4. 933, 4. 801, respectively; both P < 0. 05); HBeAg seroconversion rates in three groups were 44. 7% (17/38), 17. 5% (7/40) and 51. 4% (18/35), respectively. At week 48 of follow-up,SR rates in three groups were 34. 2%(13/38), 15. 0%(6/40) and 48. 6% (17/35), respectively; those in groups C and A were higher than that in group B (X2 = 9. 894,P<0. 01;X2 =3. 903, P<0. 05, respectively). Conclusions VRs at week 24 and 48 of Peg IFN α-2a plus ADV combination therapy are better than Peg IFN α-2a or ADV monotherapy. SRs at week 48 of follow-up after Peg IFN α-2a monotherapy and combination therapy are both better than ADV monotherapy.
