2.Examination of immune tolerance to heterologous-transplanted tumor of human stomach cancer in Syria Hamsters
Chinese Journal of Immunology 1985;0(01):-
Objective: To study immune tolerance state to heterologous- transplanted tumor of human stomach cancer in Syria Hamsters. Methods: Syria hamsters within 24 hous after bom were intraperitoneally inoculated primary BCC-823 cells of human stomach cancer to establish the tumor model.Lymphocyte transformation test and complement dependent cytotoxicity test were performed. Lymphocytic infiltration from host in tumor transplanted was observed. Some neonatal Syria Hamsers were intraperitoneally inoculated dead primary cells of human stomach cancer to induce immune tolerance, and then re-inoculated subcutaneously live cells at three-week age. Tumor growth was observed and its relationship to immune inhibitory factor secreted from the tumor transplanted was studied. Results:Tumor cells from transplantation failed to induce the lymphocyte transformation of tumor-carrying Syrian hamsters and the serum from tumor-carrying Syrian hamsters couldn't cause complement dependent cytotoxicity to tumor cells of transplantation. The infiltration of of lymphocyte from host was not found in the tumor transplanted. The re-inoculation with live human stomach cancer cells in Syria hamsters at three-week age succeeded in inducing tumor after immune tolerance was induced by inoculatin dead cells. Conclusion: The Syria hamster after the inoculation of tumor cells has produced specific immune tolerance to transplanted tumor.
3.How to Contain Hospital's Indifference towards Patients in Mortal Danger
Chinese Medical Ethics 1995;0(04):-
Recently the cases that doctors or hospitals show indifferently or unconcerned towards patients in mortal danger occur repeatedly, which can not be contained simply by moral condemnation and restraint.Considering its social hazards and correlated ancient and modern legislations,it is a direct and effective way to criminalize this immoral behavior. However, doctors' or hospitals' indifference towards patients in mortal danger is not an isolated issue, but closely correlated with other social contradictions and conflicts. Therefore,a fine social assistance system of medical service is still in great need so as to comprehensively solve this problem.
4.On Pharmacoeconomics Evaluation Methods
China Pharmacy 2007;0(28):-
OBJECTIVE:To provide reference for the selection of pharmacoeconomics evaluation methods.METHODS:The source of pharmacoeconomics evaluation method was reviewed. The understanding of people to pharmacoeconomic evaluation method and the development of it were analyzed. The advantage and disadvantage of different pharmacoeconomic sevaluation methods were compared.RESULTS & CONCLUSION:Regardless of the pursuit of economic evaluation index or the requirement of evaluation purposes and subject characteristics of pharmacoeconomics to evaluation method, common economics evaluation method are the first choice for the selection of evaluation methods and index of pharmacoeconomics,i.e.cost-minimization analysis and cost-effectiveness analysis. If above method is not applicable,it is considered to adopt individual index,i.e.effect and effectiveness,to calculate profits.
5.Nerve growth factor prevents basal forebrain neuronal degeneration in aged monkeys
Chinese Journal of Organ Transplantation 1999;20(1):8-9
Objective To study the preventive effects of nerve growth factor(NGF)on basal forebrain neurons to explore the therapy for Alzheimer disease. Methods Six aged Rhesus monkeys were divided into two groups(group A and group B)randomly.NGF transport from cerebral cortex were blocked in all the monkeys.Group A received homopleural intraventricular implants of polymer-encapsulated cells that were modified to secrete NGF.Group B received identical implants of empty capsules. Results Three to four weeks after operation, the monkeys in the group B displayed extensive reductions in the number of p75NGFr receptor immunoreactive neurons(53%)and choline acetyltransferase immunoreactive neurons (57%to 75%)within the septum. The monkeys in group A appeared to be normal size telative to the atrophic appearance of cholinergic neurons and p75NGFr receptor imrnunoreactive neurons in the monkeys receiving control implants. Conclusion NGF could prevent basal forebrain neuron degeneration in aged monkeys.
6.Analysis of serum level of SDF-1 in patients with congenital heart disease and pulmonary hypertension
Journal of Clinical Pediatrics 2013;(12):1151-1153
Objective To assess the serum level of stromal-cell-derived factor 1 (SDF-1) in patients with congenital heart disease (CHD) and pulmonary arterial hypertension. Methods The heart color Doppler ultrasound was conducted to measure the tricuspid regurgitation velocity, in order to estimate pulmonary artery systolic pressure. According to the existing standards, a total of 86 patients were divided into CHD without pulmonary hypertension group (n=16), mild pulmonary hypertension group (n=18), moderate pulmonary hypertension group (n=17), severe pulmonary hypertension group (n=15). Another 20 healthy chil-dren were recruited as control group (n=20), The serum level of SDF-1 was detected by the ELISA method. Results The serum SDF-1 levels were signiifcantly lower in CHD groups than in control group (F=27.793, P<0.001). In CHD groups, CHD with se-vere pulmonary hypertension group had the lowest SDF-1 level, and CHD without pulmonary hypertension group had the highest SDF-1 level. There were signiifcant differences between CHD groups (P<0.05). The pulmonary artery systolic pressure was cor-related with serum SDF-1 levels (r=-0.737, P<0.001). Conclusions The serum level of SDF-1 is decreased in patients with CHD, and is negatively correlated with the severity of pulmonary arterial hypertension.
7.Key point of collaboration during the surgery of endoscopic guided vitrectomy for complicated ocular trauma
Chinese Journal of Practical Nursing 2013;29(33):17-19
Objective To summarize the key point of collaboration during the surgery of endoscopic guided vitrectomy for complicated ocular trauma. Methods From October 2010 to March 2013,a total of 25 cases(25 eyes) of complicated ocular trauma were treated by endoscopic guided vitrectomy. The the key point of collaboration was summarized. Results Surgeries of 25 cases (25 eyes) went smoothly, visual acuity improved, without enucleation cases.Postoperative complications were mainly secondary glaucoma and vitreous hemorrhage, and all were improved after treatment. Conclusions Endoscopic guided vitrectomy for the treatment of complicated ocular trauma is one of the effective means, and the advantage is that the surgery could be done when the refractive medium is opacity.
8.Differentiation of mesenchymal stem cells to chondrocytes and its applications in cartilage repair
International Journal of Biomedical Engineering 2010;33(6):363-366,371
Articular cartilage as a load-bearing connective tissues may often be caused defects by trauma, sports, degenerative or age-related diseases. As articular cartilage has a limited inherent repair capacity, a large variety of treatment approaches including autologous chondrocyte transplantation, microfracture and mosaicplasty methods have been developed. However, there are limitations in these strategies especially when using autologous chondrcytes. Mesenchymal stem cells are considered the most promising seed cells in the study of tissue engineered cartilage. This review focuses on the induction of mesenchymal stem cells into chondrocytes in vitro and their application in cartilage repair.
9.Anti-cancer effects of Alternol and Alteronol on human cancers
Journal of International Oncology 2017;44(6):452-455
Alternol and Alteronol are two small chemical compounds purified from a mutant fungal. The in vitro and in vivo experimental studies have confirmed their potent anti-cancer effect. In vitro studies show that they can inhibit cell division and proliferation of a variety of tumors including prostate cancer, osteosarcoma and melanoma. They exert their anti-cancer effects by attenuating cell cycle protein expression and causing cell cycle arrest, suppressing tumor cell invasion and metastasis, reducing new blood vessel formation, decreasing the expression of anti-apoptotic proteins Bcl-2 in malignant cells, and stimulating oxygen free radical accumulation. However, there is no significant cytotoxic effect on benign cells.Animal experiments show that these two compounds significantly inhibit xenograft growth derived from a variety of human malignant tumors, while there is no obvious side effect on normal tissue or organs. In conclusion, these two compounds are worthy to be developed as novel anti-cancer drugs.
