Objective To acknowledge the quality of life (QOL) in patients after lung transplantation and to explore related factors. Methods A cross- sectional study design and a convenience sampling were performed in this research. Totally 30 patients after lung transplantation were investigated. The questionnaires which used to explore the quality of life were Short Form 36 Health Survey Questionnaires (SF-36) and Revised Airways Questionnaires 20 (AQ20-R). Related state were surveyed by questionnaires consisted of demographic questionnaires, Self-rating Anxiety Scale (SAS), Self-rating Depression Scale (SDS) and Medical Coping Mode Questionnaires (MCMQ). Statistical analysis was performed by SPSS 20.0 software. Correlation analysis and multivariate analysis were performed using Pearson linear correlation analysis and multi-linear regression. Results The scores among the 8 dimensions of SF-36 were(34.48±16.73)-( 71.63±22.83), lower than those of norms(Z=-9.684--2.817, P<0.05 or 0.01). Somatic pain scored the highest (71.63±22.83), while physiological function scored the lowest (34.48±16.73). The mean score of AQ20-R was 7.93±5.21. The major two problems that manifested QOL were: uncomfortable feeling of lung caused by strong scent, smog or perfume, exhausted feeling after having a cold. The mean scores of SAS and SDS were 44.33±9.33,48.05±9.80, higher than those of norms, which were 33.80 ± 5.90, 41.88 ± 10.57 (t=6.1833, 3.4458, P < 0.01). The scores among the 3 dimensions of MCMQ were 8.93 ± 2.08, 16.10 ± 2.28, 3.63 ± 1.33 and the differences were significant in 3 dimensions compared with those norms, which were 19.48±3.81, 14.44±2.97, 8.81±3.17(t=-27.7281, 3.9885,-21.3878, P<0.01). Conclusions In SF-36, role-physical of patients after lung transplantation was the worst dimension, while bodily pain was the best dimension of QOL. The QOL of patients after lung transplantation were almost worse than normal people. The related factors of QOL in patients after lung transplantation maybe:anxiety, depression and medical coping style.

Objective Present study aimed to characterize the alteration of cortical thickness in first-episode, never-medicated, adult patients with major depressive disorder (MDD), and explore whether such deficits were related with their disease duration and clinical symptom severity. Methods Thirty-seven adult MDD patients were recruited from March 2013 to August 2015 as patient group, and 41 healthy volunteers were as control group. All the patients underwent three-dimensional spoiled gradient recalled (3D-SPGR) sequences, and the images were acquired. Constructions of the cortical surface were developed from 3D-SPGR images using FreeSurfer software, and the thickness of the entire cortex was measured according to the automated surface reconstruction, transformation, and high-resolution inter-subject alignment procedures. Finally, cortical thickness was compared between the two groups, and the relativity between clinical symptom severity, disease progression and clinical scores were analyzed using the General Linear Model (GLM). Results Our results revealed a significant increase in cortical thickness(P<0.05, false discovery rate corrected) in the left anterior and middle cingulate cortex, bilateral precentral cortex, left paracentral cortex, bilateral superior parietal cortex, left temporal pole, and right lateral occipital cortex (cortical thickness 1.89-2.87 mm, cortical volume 34-384 mm2, P<0.05) in MDD patients compared to healthy controls, while no reversed alternation was found. In addition, clinical symptom severity and disease progression showed no correlation with the cortical thickness abnormalities in MDD group(P>0.05). Conclusion Excluding the impact of treatment, our study showed that the cortical thickness change was mainly located in the prefrontal-limbic system in the in early course of MDD.

Objective To study the effects and preliminary mechanism of Stattic (Y705),an inhibitor of the signal transducer and activator of transcription-3 (STAT3),on the growth, migration, invasion and radiosensitization of hepatocellular carcinoma cell line Bel-7402.Methods Bel-7402 cells were divided to four groups:blank control group,Stattic treatment group, radiation group, and Stattic combined with radiation group. The cell growth and proliferation were detected by using CCK8 kit.The influence of Stattic on radiation sensitivity of Bel-7402 cells was determined by clone formation assay. The cell migration and invasion ability were tested by scratch migration assay and transwell assay, respectively. The protein expressions of STAT3,p-STAT3,Bax,Bcl-2,Caspase-3,Cleaved Caspase-3,MMP-2 and MMP-9 were quantified by Western blotting assay. Results Stattic significantly inhibited the growth of human hepatocellular carcinoma Bel-7402 cells with a dose-depended manner. The IC50 of Stattic after 48 h treatment was 2.5 μ mol/L.When 1.0 μmol/L Stattic was combined with 8 Gy X-rays,there was a synergistic effect in inhibition of cell proliferation with a inhibition rate of (15.00 ± 1.87) % (F =63.30,P < 0.05).Scratch migration assay and transwell invasion assay showed that the migration and invasion abilities of the combination group were significantly reduced. In addition, compared with the radiation group, the SF2,D0and Dq values obtained from survival curve were decreased (t =4.20,6.92,9.32,P <0.05),the protein expressions of p-STAT3,MMP-2,MMP-9 were reduced (t =5.32,6.02,13.26,P <0.05),the protein expressions of Bax and Cleaved Caspase-3 were increased in the combination group(t =-7.82,-14.09,P < 0.05),meanwhile the protein expressions of Bcl-2 was decreased (t =18.43,P < 0.05).When the concentration of Stattic was 0.5 μmol/L,the radiation sensitization ratio at 2 Gy (SERSF2) was 1.22.Conclusions By inhibiting the activation of the p-STAT3 in Bel-7402 cells, stattic could induce cell apoptosis and increase the radiosensitivity, down regulate MMP-2 and MMP-9 and thereby reduce the invasion and migration of tumor cells.
