Chinese Journal of Primary Medicine and Pharmacy 2012;19(9):1318-1319
Objective To observe the effect of olopatadine in the treatment of allergic conjunctivitis. Methods 67 cases with allergic conjunctivitis were randomly divided into 2 groups. The observation group was given 0.1% hydrochloride olopatadine eyedrop twice a day for 7 days, while the control group was given 2% cromolyn sodium 4 times a day for 7 days. One hour,7 days,20 days after treatment, the changes of symptoms and the incidence of adverse reactions were observed. Results 7 days after treatment, the totsl effective rate of the observation group in treatment of eye itching, conjunctival hyperemia and conjunctiva nipple were 91.18%,91.18% and 85.19%,better than that of the control group[ 72.7%,75.76%,85.19% ( all P < 0.05 ) ].Conclusion It's rapid onset long duration of action and high security that olopatadine in the treatment of allergic conjunctivits, and it was worthy to promote to be used in clinic.

Objective To make a rapid determination of ferulic acid and identification of its structure in rhizome of Phragmites communis (RPC). Methods The chemical constituents were extracted by solvent and the relative content and structure of ferulic acid in RPC were determined and identified using GC-TOFMS technique. Results By GC-TOFMS, the ferulic acid was successfully isolated from the extracts of RPC in a relative content of 5%. According to the exact masses and corresponding elemental compositions of molecular ion and eight characteristic ions, a possible fragmentation pathway of the ferulic acid molecule was proposed, by which the molecular structure was confirmed. Conclusion GC-TOFMS technique is a rapid, accurate, sensitive, and reliable method for determination of the relative content of ferulic acid in RPC and identificatiion of its structure.

AIM: To further investigate preventive effects of Shenfu(SF) injection, a Chinese herb drug, on acute renal ischemic reperfusion injury (IRI). METHODS: After SF or normal saline was administered intravenously one time a day for four days, the renal ichemia-reperfusion(I-R) model was established by occlusion of right renal artery and vein for an hour and reperfusion for three hours after left nephroectomy. The activity of superoxide dismutase (SOD), content of malondialdehyde(MDA) in serum and renal tissue, and content of nitric oxide (NO),concentrations of Na + and Ca 2+ , numbers of WBC adhesion in renal tissue were detected and light and electronic microscopy were used for the detection of the renal histological changes. RESULTS: SF lowered significantly MDA content in either renal tissues or serum , concentration of Na +, the number of WBC adhesion, and scores of tubules in renal tissue after renal I-R, and the SOD activity in renal tissues and serum and NO content in renal tissue were obviously increased by SF.In addition, renal histomorphological damage in either light or electronic microscope were lightened by SF. But Ca 2+ concentration in renal tissue appeared to be only mildly affected. CONCLUSION: The mechanisms that SF protects renal structure and function against acute renal IRI may be involved in increasing SOD activity, scavenging directly oxygen free redicals(OFR),raising NO content, inhibiting WBC adhesion and recruiment, preventing Na + influx to form Na + overload.

AIM: To investigate the effect of Zhongfeng Nao De Ping, a traditional chinese medicine, on the cerebral ischemia/reperfusion injury in rats. METHODS: Delayed neuronal death (DND) model was established by bilateral carotid arteries occlusion for l0 min followed by 1 day and 7 days reperfusion. Effects of sodium glutamate, ketamine and Zhongfeng Nao De Ping on DND in the hippocampus was examined by counting neuronal density in CAl Sector, and the contents of Ca 2+ and amino acids in the hippocampus were also measured. RESULTS: The contents of the glutamate and aspartate in the hippocampus were increased significantly at l0 min after transient cerebral ischemia. Sodium glutamate markedly decreased the neuronal density in hippocampal CAl sector, while ketamine and Zhongfeng Nao De Ping increased it significantly in the same sector. The level of Ca 2+ increased on day 1, day 7 after the reperfusion, while Zhongfeng Nao De Ping inhibited the increase in Ca 2+ concentration in hippocampus. CONCLUSION: These results suggested that Zhongfeng Nao De Ping has an effective protection against DND in hippocampus following cerebral ischemia/reperfusion in rats.

Objective To confirm the correlation between pre or post processing semen parameters and clinical pregnancy rate in infertile couples with male factors undergoing intrauterine insemination (IUI) .Methods The pregnancy rate based on ovulation in‐ducing agent in infertile couples with male factors infertility per the 2010 world health organization criteria treated with IUI was e‐valuated .One hundred and twenty eight cycles were divided into pregnant group (16 cycles) and non‐pregnant group(112 cycles) . The pre or post processing semen parameters were retrospectively evaluated .Results The overall pregnancy rate was 12 .5% .All parameters in this study has no statistically significant difference between the two groups (P>0 .05) .Logistic multivariate analysis showed that there was no significant correlation between semen parameters and clinical pregnancy rate (P> 0 .05) .Conclusion There are no significant correlations between semen parameters and clinical pregnancy rate when the normal forms of patients with male infertility was 4% or higher .No semen parameters could predict results of clinical pregnancy .

Objective To observe the clinical efficacy ofTiaozhong YifeiPrescription combined with Western therapy for treatment of cough variant asthma (CVA) remission. Methods Totally 90 patients with CVA remission were randomly divided into TCM group, Western therapy group and TCM and Western therapy group, 30 cases in each group. TCM group was givenTiaozhong YifeiPrescription, 1 dose per day, morning and evening; Western therapy group was given salmeterol xinafoate and fluticasone propionate powder for inhalation, each 1 suction, 2 times a day, inhalation; a mixture ofTiaozhong YifeiPrescription and xinafoate and fluticasone propionate powder for inhalation was given to TCM and Western therapy group, the same as above, continuous treatment for 12 weeks. TCM syndrome score, EOS, IgE, pulmonary function and safety index were observed in the three groups before and after treatment. The recurrence rate and the number of colds after three-month treatment were observed. Results TCM syndrome scores in the three groups decreased after treatment (P<0.05). There was statistical significance between TCM group and TCM and Western therapy group after treatment (P<0.05). The total effective rate of TCM group was 96.67% (29/30), 100.00% (30/30) of Western therapy group, 76.67% (23/30) of TCM and Western therapy group, with statistical significance (P<0.05). After three-month treatment, 1, 0 and 11 cases relapsed in TCM group, TCM and Western therapy group and Western therapy group, respectively, with statistical significance (P<0.001). Compared with the Western therapy group, the number of colds in the TCM group and TCM and Western therapy group significantly decreased (P<0.05). Compared with before treatment, IgE decreased significantly (P<0.05). There was no significant difference in EOS among the three groups before and after treatment (P>0.05). After treatment, the maximum expiratory flow in TCM and Western therapy groupwas higher than that before treatment and lower than that in the Western therapy group (P<0.01), and the other lung function indexes were not statistically significant (P>0.05). 1 mild adverse reaction was found in the TCM and Western therapy, and no obvious adverse reactions were found in other groups (P<0.05).ConclusionTiaozhong Yifei Prescription has good clinical efficacy for CVA.
