Objective To explore the correlation between vitamin A (VA) level andMycoplasma pneumonia (MP). Methods Children aged 0-12 years hospitalized with acute infectious respiratory diseases during March 2015 to December 2015 were randomly selected. The level of serum VA was detected by high performance liquid chromatography (HPLC). MP-DNA on nasopharyngeal swab was detected by polymerase chain reaction (PCR). The serum MP-IgM was detected by enzyme linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). The MP infection rate among subclinical VA deficiency (SVAD) group, suspicious subclinical VA deifciency (SSVAD) group and VA normal group were analyzed and compared.Results Among 600 children, there were 83 cases of SVAD (13.83%) and 193 cases of SSVAD (32.17%). There were statistical differences of the incidences between SVAD and SSVAD in children younger than 1-year-old, 1-3 years old, 3-6 years old and≥6 years old (P all<0.001), among which SVAD and SSVAD groups had the highest incidence rates in infants younger than 1 year old (26.36% and 49.10%respectively). Among 600 children, MP was positive in 201 children (33.5%), in whom 57 children (28.35%) were SVAD and 70 children (34.83%) were SSVAD. The incidence rate of SVAD in children with MP positive was higher than that in children with MP negative (P<0.001). In 201 children with MP positive, there were signiifcant differences in the distribution of SVAD, SSVAD and VA among different age groups (P=0.003), and the incidence rate of SVAD in infants younger than 1 year old was higher (48.39%).Conclusions SSVAD and SVAD are common in infants younger than 1 year old; SVAD may be associated with MP infection in children.

Objective Artificial mineral water pills were made by loading many kinds of trace elements into the ceramic carrier.Pure water could be mineralized after dipping the pills into the water.To assess the possible hazardous effects on the human health induced by the pills,a series of hygienic and toxicological experiments on the pills were carried out.Methods Acute oral toxicity test,micronucleus test of mice bone marrow cells,sperm abnormality test in mice and Ames test were con-ducted.Contents of trace elements,heavy metals and radioactivity in the mineralized water were determined according to the examination methods in Standard Examination Methods for Drinking Water and Examination Methods for Drinking Natural Min-eral Water.Results The contents of trace elements,heavy metals and radioactivity in mineralized water met the requirements of GB5749-1985Sanitary Standard for Drinking Water and GB8537-1995Sanitary Standard for Drinking Natural Mineral Wa-ter.Mineral pills were classified as actually non-toxic and the results of micronucleus test of mice bone marrow cells,sperm ab-normality test in mice and Ames test were negative.Conclusion Mineralized drinking water treated by artificial mineral pills were safe.

Objective To explore effect of different withdrawal time of dexmedetomidine (DEX) on the quality of general anesthesia recovery.Methods Eighty patients of ASA Ⅰ or Ⅱ undergoing lymph surgery were randomly assigned to four groups (n =20).Groups D1,D2 and D3 received DEX 0.5 μg/kg as bolus before induction,continued with 0.5 μg/(kg · h) by infusion until one hour,30 min before the end of operation and the end of operation,respectively.Group C received equal volume of normal saline.Mean artery pressure (MAP),heart rate (HR) and pulse oxygen saturation (SpO2) were observed during and after operation.Spontaneous respiration recovery time,eyes open time,extubation time,orientation recovery time,observer's assessment of alertness/sedation score (OAA/S),restlessness score (RS),and visual analogue scales (VAS) were observed after operation.Results For MAP and HR in Groups D2 and D3,there were no statistically significant difference during extubation compared to those at preoperation,but at the same time point,they were lower than those in group C (P ＜ 0.05).For groups C and D1,MAP and HR at extubation and 5 min after extubation were higher than those at preoperation (P ＜0.05).Spontaneous respiration recovery time,eyes open time,extubation time,orientation recovery time in group D3 were significantly longer than those in Group C (P ＜ 0.05),while there were no statistically significantly difference between groups D1,D2,and group C.OAA/S in group D3 was significantly lower than that in group C (P ＜ 0.05) at extubation.Incidence of restlessness,VAS,and cases given analgesic 2 hours after operation in groups D2 and D3 were significantly lower than those in groups C and D1.Compared to those in group C,dosages of propofol and remifentanil in groups D2 and D3 were significantly lower.Conclusions Dexmedetomidine administered of 0.5 μg/kg before induction,continued with infusion of 0.5 μg/(kg · h) until 30 min before the end of operation,may improve emergence,without influencing the awakening time of patients,and prolong the duration time of analgesia which comfort the patients.

Objective To compare shikani optical stylet and Mc coy laryngoscope on elder patients with intratracheal intubation anesthesia.Methods 112 cases of elder patients with intratracheal intubation anesthesia were enrolled as study objects, all patients were divided into shikani optical stylet group (52 cases), Mc coy laryngoscope group (60 cases) according to different intubation way. Then detect the hemodynamic parameters, stress-related indicators, EEG relevant indicators of the two groups.Results One time success rate and total success rate in Shikani visual laryngoscope group was higher than Mc Coy visual laryngoscope group, while many times intubation rate was lower (P < 0.05); T1, T2 MAP, HR levels were lower in Shikani optical stylet group than Mc Coy laryngoscope group patients (P < 0.05); Plasma levels of epinephrine, norepinephrine, and glucose on T1, T2 in Shikani optical stylet group was lower than that in Mc Coy laryngoscope group (P < 0.05); T1, T2 BIS, ECoG grading, αβ% values in Shikani optical stylet group was lower than that in Mc coy laryngoscope group (P < 0.05).Conclusions Elderly patients with intratracheal intubation anesthesia received shikani optical stylet can enhance the success rate of intubation and effectively stabilize patients circulatory system, reduce excessive physical stress caused by various system dysfunction, which shows positive significance.

Objective To investigate the relation between serum leptin/tumor necrosis factor-α (TNF-α)and malnutrition in patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) and stable chronic cor pulmonale (CCP) at high altitude. Methods Totally 162 COPD and CCP patients and 40 normal controls (group C) were studied. COPD and CCP patients were divided into malnutrition group (group A, n = 104) and normal nutrition group (group B, n =58) according to the nutritional parameters. Levels of serum leptin and TNF-α were measured by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Results Body mass index (BMI), percentage of normal body weight (NW%), triceps skinfold thickness (TSF), mid-upper arm circumference (MAC), serum albumin (ALB) ingroupA[(17.4±1.8) kg/m2, (82.3±4.3)%, (7.0±2.6) mm, (17.8±2.8) cm, (30.3±3.9)g/L, respectively] were significantly lower than those in group B and group C [(21.8 ± 2.0) kg/m2,(98.6±5.5)%, (9.3±2.6) mm, (21.5±2.9) cm, (36.2±3.8) g/L, and (23.1±2.3) kg/m2,(102.2±5.2)%, (9.7±3.8) mm, (22.1±2.8) cm, (36.8±3.9) g/L, respectively; all P＜0. 01].The levels of serum leptin and TNF-α in group A [(9.5 ±1. 8) ng/ml and (17.3 ±2. 2) ng/ml, respectively]were significantly higher than those in group A and group C [(7.3 ± 2. 0) ng/ml, (13.5 ± 2. 3) ng/ml; and (6. 7 ±2. 3) ng/ml, (12. 8 ±2. 1) ng/ml, respectively; all P ＜0.01). However, they were not significantly different between group A and group B (all P ＞ 0. 05). Objective To study the influence of the preparation and quality control of Xiaochuan cataplasm on its drug action. Methods Xiaochuan cataplasm was prepared with hydrosoluble polymers matrix. A sequence of tests such as adhesive force test, recontour test, paste-content test, cold-resistance test, heat-resistance test, toxicity and pharmacodynamic action tests were performed on this drug. Results Xiaochuan cataplasm contains a sound volume of medicine, and shows good adhesive property, no sensibilization and stimulation, and notable drug action. Conclusion The results demonstrate that the preparation craft of Xiao-chuan cataplasm is reasonable and practicable., the quality is controllable and the method is a safe and effective transdermal drug delivery system.

AIM To get an insight into intracellular signaling steps, a very early step in the signaling cascade, the biphasic Ca 2+ elicited by 5 HT in rat stomach fundus smooth muscle cells was investigated. METHODS Cells were cultured and loaded with Fluo 3 AM. [Ca 2+ ] i was measured by fluorescent intensity (FI) in each cell with confocal microscopy. RESULTS The resting FI level of SFSMC was 264?15. Stimulation of SFSMCs by 5 HT produced an elevation of [Ca 2+ ] i; Depletion of external Ca 2+ by addition of EGTA led to a significant attenuation of [Ca 2+ ] i change induced by 5 HT; Pre treatment of SFSMCs with ryanodine (10 ?mol?L -1 , 5 min) in D Hanks, the effect of 5 HT was completely inhibited; The stimulation of SFSMCs by 5 HT was partly attenuated by miaserin(10 ?mol?L -1 ), however, L type Ca 2+ channel antagonist lacidipine and G protein inhibitor NEM completely abolished the increase of [Ca 2+ ] i mediated by 5 HT; 5 HT mediated Ca 2+ release was reduced by phospholipase C specific inhibitor compound 48/80(1 2 ?g?ml -1 ); When protein kinase C was activated by phorbol 12 myristate 13 acetate (PMA 0 1 ?mol?L -1 , 5 min) the effect of 5 HT was inhibited, and the inhibitory effect of PMA was reversed by D sphingosine, a PKC inhibitor. Comparison of assays of immunoreactive insulin (IRI) and specific insulin in evaluating islet β cell function and insulin sensitivity suggested that there were no significant differences in individuals with different glucose tolerance impairment by two assays. The evaluation of islet β cell function using IRI and insulin sensitivity is still valid in clinical practice.
