OBJECTIVE:To provide scientific reference for rational, effective and economical drug use in pediatric depart-ment. METHODS:A total of 9771 prescriptions were randomly selected from children's branch of our hospital during May 2012-Apr. 2016. Those prescriptions were analyzed statistically in respects of drug type, prescription cost, utilization rate of injec-tion,utilization rate of essential medicine, clinical diagnosis, irrational drug use,use of antibiotics, etc. RESULTS:Among 9771 prescriptions,2.91 types of drugs were used in each prescription, and each prescription expended 77.10 yuan;utilization rate of in-jection was 57.11%,and that of national essential medicine was 67.80%. Respiratory tract disease was main disease (84.17%). There were 284 irrational prescriptions(2.91%),including 156 non-standard prescriptions,165 unsuitable prescriptions and 65 ex-traordinary prescriptions. Utilization rate of antibiotics was 18.25%,among which that of Cefoxitin sodium injection was the high-est(15.48%),but its utilization index was the lowest(0.58). The detection rate of microorganism isolated from bronchitis patients was in low level(45.10%). CONCLUSIONS:The rate of qualified prescription in the children's branch of our Hospital is higher than the requirement of the former Ministry of Public Health concerning the rate of qualified prescription >95%;utilization rate of antibiotics and injection are both in high level. In the future,it is necessary to strengthen prescription evaluation and promote stan-dard and rational use of drugs so as to guarantee safe, effective and economical use of drugs in clinic.

Journal of Huazhong University of Science and Technology (Medical Sciences) 2003;23(3):216-8
To investigate whether apoptosis is associated with cell adhesion in bronchial epithelium, and whether it contributes to the kinetics of injury and repair of surface epithelia, this study was performed for E-cadherin expression by using immunohistochemistry technique and for apoptosis by TUNEL method. An animal model of smoking was used for this study. The results showed that epithelial cells with membrane anchored E-cadherin decreased remarkably at several time points during 6 months of exposure to smoke (P < 0.01) and then restored to normal level. This fluctuation was associated exclusively with the alteration in number of apoptotic cells (P < 0.01). There was no significant difference in activation of nuclear transcription factor NF-kappa B among groups (P > 0.05). All these suggested that apoptosis is associated with E-cadherin expression in bronchial epithelium of smoking mouse.

Objective To explore the alteration of brain pain functional areas in patients with functional dyspepsia (FD) irritable bowel syndrome (IBS) overlap by rectal balloon volume stimulation and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) and the differences with IBS alone patients and healthy individuals were compared. Methods A total of 11 IBS alone patients,16 IBS overlapped with FD patients (IBS-FD) and 10 healthy controls were recruited.Sensory thresholds and visual analogue scale (VAS) were recorded during the rectal balloon air injection process. The changes of brain activated areas were analyzed by functional MRI (fMRI) when the rectum was stimulated at the volume of 50,100 and 150 ml.The data were analyzed by least significant difference (LSD) test. Results Under rectal volumetric stimulation, the sensory thresholds of IBS-FD group and IBS alone group were (53.14 ± 16.05) ml and (59.20 ± 20.55) ml and the difference was not statistically significant (LSD test,P>0.05).There was no significant difference in VAS score between IBS alone group and IBS-FD group (LSD test,P>0.05).Rectal stimulated under different volume, the results of fMRI indicated the activation of anterior cingulated cortex, dorsolateral prefrontal cortex, postporietal cortex, thalamus and insular cortex in both IBS alone group and IBS-FD group. And there was no significant difference in activated areas and intensity between IBS alone group and IBS-FD group (LSD test,P>0.05).Conclusions There was no significant difference in activations of brain areas between IBS alone and IBS-FD patients under rectal volumetric stimulation. Under rectal volumetric stimulation, although symptoms overlapped, there was no evidence of the overlap of braingut axis and visceral hypersensitivity between IBS alone and IBS-FD.

This study was aimed to provide a reference for the development, registration, and clinical use of hospital traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) preparations, in order to analyze and assess their safety and risk. It also provided a reference for the technical review and supervision of hospital TCM preparations. Through collecting review materials of hospital TCM preparations from 2012 to 2014 in the Sichuan Food and Drug Administration, 21 preparations developed by clinical experiences were screened out. Analysis was made on their ingredients, preparation process and acute toxicity data. The results showed that 98 kinds of Chinese herbal medicines were contained in 21 preparations. The dosages of herbs were in compliance with theChina Pharmacopoeia2010 Edition. Preparation processes of 16 preparations were made by water extraction, grinding and other traditional techniques. The preparation processes of the remaining 5 preparations were involved with alcohol extraction or alcohol precipitation. Acute toxicity test data were obtained with experimental data in mice. Clinical usages of preparation were much lower than MTD or LD50. It was concluded that these hospital TCM preparations developed by clinical experiences were with high safety.

Objective To explore the dynamic responses of Sertoli cells to depletion of spermatogonial stem cells by busulfan. Methods After intraperitoneal injection of 15, 30 or 44 mg/kg busulfan to mice, the spermatogenesis and the expression of GDNF, PLZF, Nanog and GFRɑ1 mRNA were assessed by real-time quantitative PCR at 5 and 28 days after the busulfan treatment. Results Glial cell line-derived neutrophic factor ( GDNF ) was significantly increased and showed a dose-dependent trend at 5 days after busulfan treatment, but no significant difference was seen in the expression of promyelocytic leukemia zinc finger(PLZF) and GDNF family receptorα-1(GFRα1).The testicular histology also appeared no significant difference at 5 days after busulfan treatment. At 28 days after busulfan treatment, the relative expression lev-els of GDNF, PLZF, Nanog and GFRɑ1 mRNA were drastically increased.Morphological observation showed that spermat-ogenesis damages became even more severe as the busulfan dose increased. Conclusions Sertoli cell response to the de-pletion of spermatogonia occurs as early as the fifth day after busulfan treatment.Production of GDNF in Sertoli cells shows a compensatory increase, which may stimulate spermatogonial stem cells to accelerate their self-renewal, reflected by the enhancing expression of Nanog and PLZF, and ultimately promote the restoration of spermatogenesis.
