Background Reliable intraocular pressure (IOP) measurement is essential in glaucomatous study.TonoLab is a newly designed tonometer for small animals, however, its repeatability and reproducibility remains unknown. Objective This study aimed to evaluate the repeatability and reproducibility of TonoLab rebound tonometer in DBA/2J mice. Methods Intraocular pressure was measured in both eyes of 63 DBA/2J mice aged 7 months under systemic anesthesia with TonoLab rebound tonometer.IOP of each eye was measured for 3 times by two observers independently and consecutively using TonoLab rebound tonometer, and the data were obtained in single blind method.Within standard deviation (Sw),interclass correlation coefficient (ICC),within coefficient of variation (CVw) and corresponding 95% confidence interval (CI) were calculated to evaluate the repeatability of measuring result from single observer, and Bland-Altman method was used to assess the agreement between two observers. The abnormal data which affected repeatability was analyzed. Results Among the 126 eyes,105 eyes showed the normal IOP with mean value (12.98 ± 1.05) mmHg from observer 1 and (12.41 ±0.92) mmHg from observer 2.Ocular hypertension was found in 21 eyes with mean value (27.76 ± 1.95) mmHg and (27.49 ± 1.28) mmHg for observer 1 and observer 2 respectively.Sw,ICC and CVw for observer 1/observer 2 were 1.34/1.11 mmHg,0.90/0.92,8.24%/7.42% in normal eyes and 2.21/1.49 mmHg,0.89/0.95,6.97%/4.82% in hypertensive eyes. The average bias between two measuring values from different observers was 0.60 mmHg in the normal eyes (95% CI:-5.20-6.30 mmHg) and 0.30 mmHg in the hypertensive eyes (95% CI:-7.30-7.80 mmHg).Conclusions TonoLab rebound tonometer can offer a good intraobserver repeatability in both normal and hypertensive eyes in mice, but the agreement between two observers is outside an acceptable level. So we consider IOP in mice obtained by TonoLab rebound tonometer is reliable and accurate from a single observer.

Objective:To study the effect of totally endoscopic surgery and Miccoli surgery for papillary thyroid microcarcinoma. Methods Totally 64 patients with papillary thyroid microcarcinoma from April 2013 to April 2014 in our hospital were divided into the ob-servation group and the control group according to a random number table. And the intraoperative and postoperative situation of the two groups were compared. Results The number of lymph node dissection, postoperative hospital stay, hospital costs of the two groups had no sig-nificant difference (P >0.05).The blood loss, operative time, drainage time, amount of drainage, incision length, time of postoperative recov-ery of the observation group were significantly less than those of the control group with statistical significance (P <0.05).But the cosmetic score of observation group after operation was lower than that of the control group, and there was a significant difference (P <0.05).Postop-erative pain grade of the observation group was better than the control group with statistical significance (P <0.05).The complication rate of control group was significantly higher than the observation group (P <0.05).Conclusion Miccoli surgery for papillary thyroid microcarci-noma has more advantages compared with totally endoscopic surgery in terms of blood loss, operative time, drainage time, amount of drainage, incision length, time of postoperative recovery, and degree of pain. Moreover,it has a lower complication rate and high security, which should be the first choice in clinic surgery.

Objective To explore the factors influencing the sitting early away from bed after operation in elderly patients having hip fractures.Method Forty-six elderly patients with hip fractures who were taking postoperative functional exercises of sitting away from bed and 32 nurses were investigated on the influential factors by a questionnaire. Results More than 52.1%of the patients believed the factors influencing their sitting early away from bed including lack of family support, worry about insufficient physical strength and fear of pains.65.6%of the nurses thought the factor was their inadequate assessment. Conclusion Such measures as enhancing family support, nutritional support, relief of pains from sitting from bed and improving nurse’s ability in rehabilitative training instruction are important for the patients to sit early away from bed after operation on hip fractures.

Objective:To detect expression level of miR-410 in patients with systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE),and to expose the role of miR-410 and its target genes by bioinformatics methods. Methods:Expression level of miR-410 were detected by quantitative RT-PCR in peripheral blood mononuclear cells of SLE patients, and miR-410 sequence, its target genes and Genecards database were analyzed, and analysis of GO enrichment and KEGG Pathway was further performed.Results:miR-410 expression was significantly reduced in SLE patients, and its nucleotide sequence was highly conserved among species. These genes that were predicted to be regulated by miR-410 and associated with LE pathogenesis, included FASLG,CSF2,IFNAR2,MAPK1,PLCG2,IL4 and other genes.Analysis of GO enrichment revealed that miR-410's target genes were involved in cell growth, proliferation, programmed cell death, cell differentiation, immune system development and other biological activities.Analysis of KEGG Pathway showed that the target genes of miR-410 were significantly enriched in a series of signaling pathways including pathways in cancer,cytokine-cytokine receptor interaction,glioma,melanoma,TGF-β and JAK-STAT signaling pathway.Conclusion:miR-410 maybe directly regulate its target molecules, mediate various signal pathway networks, thus participate in the occurrence and development of SLE.

Objective To develop a humidification fluid dropping joint for the breathing machine to solve the problems in humidification fluid retension, pipeline leakage, pipeline fixation and etc. Methods A Infusion extension tube was involved in with 10 cm length left at the injector end.A hole was made at the side wall of the L-shaped joint of the breathing machine, whose internal diameter equaled to the external diameter of the extension tube. The extension tube was put into the joint through the hole, and the depth of imbedded tube was within 4 and 6 cm.Sealing and fixation at the connection between the tube and hole were executed with 502 glue and short tourniquet. Results The humidification fluid dropping joint could be connected with infusion apparatus of the pump or the infusion extension tube of the micro pump, which behaved well in eliminating accumulated humidification fluid, sputum suction, humidification and facilitating mechanical ventilation. Conclusion The joint developed gains advantages in easy manufacture, reducing complications and increasing the dependence on artificial airway, and thus is worthy promoting clinically.

Objective To explore the inner feelings of gestational diabetes at their primary use of the real-time blood glucose monitoring. Method Using the qualitative method, 10 gestational diabetic patients monitored their blood glucose using the real-time blood glucose monitoring for the first time and then were interviewed, the acquired results treated with phenomenological analysis. Result The inner feelings of the 10 patients were summarized including 5 themes:worry about the safety of the fetus, fear on alarming at monitoring, different views on four times input of finger blood glucose values, worry about inaccuracy in blood glucose monitoring data, changes in mental conditions and diets. Conclusion Health care workers should provide the gestational diabetic patients with targeted care strategies based on presence of psychological status and knowledge needs so as to improve their compliance, reduce the psychological burden of patients and control their blood glucose level.

Objective This study investigated the differences between axillary temperature monitored for 5min and 10min with mercury in glass thermometers. Methods A sample of 365 patients had axillary temperatures monitored for five minutes and ten minutes, Relevant research data were analyzed by meta analysis. Results At α=0.05 level, the result of paired t test between 5 minutes and 10 minutes temperature indicated that there was statistical difference, Meta analysis had the same result, Temperaturedata of 365 patients were expressed in the Bland-Altman plot which displayed that their consistency can not be accepted in the professional. Conclusions The optimal axillary mercury thermometer placement time for recording human body temperature is 10 minutes.
