Objective To realize the format conversion from DICOM images to common images with simple and convenient meth-ods. Methods Parsing the DICOM files adopting the object-oriented idea, the DICOM images were changed over on the basis of DCMTK toolkit. Results The VC++ project was built with the DICOM toolkit and the conversion of image formats was achieved. Conclusion This method conveniently achieves the conversion among kinds of image formats. The converted images are completely accord with the practicable standards;moreover, it's greatly convenient for the following processing and manipulations.

Objective To explore the effect of low frequency vibration (LFV) on osteogenesis of bone marrow stromal cells (BMSCs) and OPG mRNA,RANKL mRNA expression.MethodsBMSCs from 10-week-old female SD rats were cultured and randomly divided into 2 groups:control group and vibration group. The BMSCs of vibration group was given LVF with 20 Hz,0.25 g,2 times/d,10 min/time for 7 days. The LFV was given from the eleventh day after BMSCs cultured. The osteogenesis and OPG mRNA,RANKL mRNA of all BMSCs in two group were tested at the end of LFV.ResultsCompared to the control groups, the BMSCs growth and proliferation improved in vibration group, but the alkaline phosphatase (ALP)activity and the number of mineral nodule did not changed significantly. The OPG mRNA elevated in vibration group, while the RANKL mRNA showed no change.ConclusionThe LFV may increase the growth and proliferation of BMSCs,which is attributed to the elevated OPG gene expression. The osteogenesis improved no significance, which may be associated with the too short vibration time.

Objective To study the paracrine effect of hypoxic preconditioned umbilical cord mesenchymal stem cells (UCMSCs) on the proliferation, migration and osteogenic differentiation of osteoblasts. Methods UCMSCs were cultured under hypoxia and normal oxygen condition before two UCMSCs conditioned media were obtained. After that,MG-63 cells were cultured in three groups:hypoxia conditioned medium group, normoxia conditioned medium group and DMEM control group. The proliferation of MG-63 cells was detected by mosmann tetrazoline colorimetry( MTT) method after 1,3 and 5 days. The migratory ability of MG-63 cells was detected by scratch assay .After 21 days′culture , the formation of osteogenic calcium nodules was detected by Alizarin red staining.ELISA method was used to detect the content of vascular endothelial growth factor ( VEGF) in hypoxia and normoxia conditioned medium. Results The MTT test showed that the proliferation ability of MG-63 cells in hypoxia conditioned medium group and normoxia conditioned medium group was greater than in the DMEM control group. The difference was statistically significant ( P <0.05).Furthermore, the proliferation ability of cells in hypoxia conditioned medium group were much greater than cells in normoxia culture medium group. The difference was statistically significant (P<0.05).Scrath assay showed that the migratory ability of MG-63 cells in hypoxia conditioned medium group and normoxia conditioned medium group was greater than cells in DMEM control group, and cells in hypoxia conditioned medium group was much greater than cells in normoxia conditioned medium group. After 21 days′culture,we found that the number of calcium nodules was the largest in hypoxia conditioned medium group, followed by normoxia conditioned medium group and DMEM control group.ELISA showed that the content of VEGF in hypoxia conditioned medium was higher than that in normoxia conditioned medium and the difference was statistically significant (P<0.01).Conclusion The paracrine function of UCMSCs can be enhanced by hypoxia, thus improving the proliferation, migration and osteogenic differentiation of osteoblasts.

Objectives To investigate the prevalance of quinolone resistance in Laribacter hongkongensis and to evaluate the influence of agar dilution and disc diffusion methods on susceptibility testing for the bacterium. Methods Susceptibility to quinolones of L.hongkongensis was tested by agar dilution and disc diffusion methods. The results for both methods were compared. Results L.hongkongensis isolates exhibited different susceptibility rate for quinolones (levofloxacin>ciprofloxacin>norfloxacin>nalidixic acid). All of the fish isolates were susceptible to levofloxacin and more than 90%were susceptible to ciprofloxacin and Norfloxacin. However,by agar dilution, only 62.50%, 37.50%,48.21%, 19.64%of the frogs isolates were susceptible to levofloxacin, norfloxacin, ciprofloxacin, nalidixic acid, respectively. For fish isolates, comparision of susceptibilities between agar dilution and disc diffusion showed a high (> 95%) percentage agreement for levofloxacin and ciprofloxacin and the highest crepancies were observed with norfloxacin (100%) .But it showed a high discrepancy when comparing the two methods for frogs isolates. Conclusions The resistance rate of L. hongkongens to quinolones was high , especially for frog isolates. The results suggested the use of agar dilution on susceptibility testing for quinolones in L. hongkongensis.

Objective To assess the prevalence of c-Kit and FLT3 gene mutations in core binding factor related acute myeloid leukemia (CBF-AML) and analyze the karyotype characteristics of the CBF-AML patients. Methods Mutations of c-Kit, FLT3-ITD and FLT3-TKD were detected by genomic DNA PCR and sequencing, and the karyotype changes were analyzed in 48 newly diagnosed CBF-AML patients. Results c-Kit aberrations were detected in 13(27.1 %) out of 48 patients, including 5 cases with exon 8 mutation and 8 cases with exon 17 mutation. c-Kit was more prominent in t(8;21) AML patients than in inv(16) AML patients [(33.3 %(9/27) vs 19.0 %(4/21), P<0.05]. Only 1 case (2.1 %) had FLT3-ITD mutation (FLT3-ITD+) and 3 cases (6.3 %) had FLT3-TKD mutation (FLT3-TKD +). Prevalence of RUNX1-RUNX1T1 with additional chromosome abnormality was as high as 25.9 %(7/27), in which sex chromosome elimination was the most common one, while prevalence of CBFβ-MYH11 with additional chromosome abnormality was low. Conclusion c-Kit gene mutations and RUNX1-RUNX1T1 additional chromosome abnormalities are common in patients with CBF-AML and would be helpful for individualized treatment studies.

World Science and Technology-Modernization of Traditional Chinese Medicine 2017;19(2):300-305
This study aimed at verifying a previous patented fraud detection method of propolis. In accordance with the patented process, the chromatographic separation was achieved on a Kromasil 100-5C18 column (250 mm × 4.6 mm,5 tm) as mobile phrase A was methanol and mobile phrase B was water (0.5% phosphoric acid) at the flow rate of 1 mL· min-1 for gradient elution. The detection wave length was 296 nm.Fraudpropolin A was taken as the reference, while the known sources of natural propolis were determined by HPLC.As a result,no fraudpropolin A was detected in the 134 sources of natural propolis at different types or from various origins. It was concluded that the patented process was sound in the fraud detection method of propolis.

Acta Nutrimenta Sinica 1956;0(01):-
A gas chromatographic method has been developed for determining glycerin concentrations of both therapeutic and physiological levels in serum. The linear relationship was obtained in the range of 1.6-800 ug/ml and the coefficient variations determined within a day and between days were 2.2% and 2.4% respectively. Recoveries of glycerol from serum were about 87%.
