Objective To detect the effect of chitosan gel on rectal injury which was induced by acetic acid. Methods 36 rats were anesthetized, 4% acetic acid swab was placed into the rectum (3 cm in depth for 1 min) to establish rectum injury model. These rats were divided into model control group, positive control group and drug group with 12 rats each group randomly. Chitosan gel was given to the drug group through anus with the dose of 1 575 mg·kg-1 , and hemorrhoid cream (1 575 mg·kg-1 ) was administered in the positive control group for 6 successive days. At 30 min, 1, 4, 6 day( s) after administration, 3 rats of each group were sacrificed, and were dissected, rectal injury and rectal pathology morphology changing of each group at different time points of administration were compared through visual observation. Results At 30 min, 1, 4, and 6 day(s) after administrating chitosan gel, score of rectum mucosa injury in dury group was lower than those in model control and positive control group. Pathological changes ( including epithelial tissue necrosis, mesenchyme hyperemia, hemorrhage, edema, gland injury, infiltration of inflammatory cells) were significantly slighter in drug group than in model control group and positive control group. Those lesions were restored faster in drug group than in model control group and positive control group, and there was no obvious scar. Conclusion Chitosan gel can obviously alleviate the rectal injury caused by 4% acetic acid and has therapeutic effect.

Platelet play an important role in cerebral ischemial nerve injury. Aspirin (ASA) had been used to treat and prevent stroke in clinic. 30 rabbits were randomly divided into A, B and C groups. In group A ASA was given orally at a daily dosage of 15 mg/kg per rabbit for 5 days before cerebral ischemia; group B cerebral ischemia without giving ASA, and group C was normal rabbits as controls. The cerebral ischemial model was produced by occluding bilateral carotid arteries and bleeding from femoral artery. The results indicated that there was an obvious decrease of PAgT and TXA_2 and had no significance changes in free radicals increasing and Ca~(2+) rising from cerebral tissue in group A. The cerebral edema of group A was less severe than group B. It seemed that ASA had a protective effect on the nerve injury of cerebral ischemia. The derangement of ASA, platelet, free radicals and calcium ions interrelation and their significance on the nerve injury should be further studied.

Objective To evaluate the lfexible spectral imaging color enhancement (FICE) system associated with mini-probe endoscopic ultrasonography in diagnosis of superifcial esophageal lesions. Methods 292 patients with superficial esophageal lesions were randomly assigned to control group or observation group. The common white light endoscopy and magnifying endoscopy were used in the control group while FICE associated with mini-probe endoscopic ultrasonography in the observation group. Findings were compared with the pathologic diagnosis.Result The magnifying FICE could reveal the IPCL of superifcial esophageal lesions and can accurately determine the pathological types of lesions. The diagnose accordance rate of esophagitis by magnifying FICE was 82.69%, mild and moderate atypical hyperplasia highly atypical hyperplasia 86.96%. The diagnostic accuracy rate of esophagus lesions between observation group and control group was 91.78 %, 76.02 % respectively. And the diagnostic sensitive rate between two groups was 85.71%, 44.44%. The former is superior to the latter. There were 5 lfat lesions found by FICE which were missed diagnosed by white light endoscopy. Conclusion FICE can enhance the ability of identiifcation of lesion which shows the outline and morphology of lesion and can improve the biopsy accuracy. FICE associated with mini-probe endoscopic ultrasonography has a certain clinical application value in the diagnosis and treatment of superifcial esophageal lesions.

Journal of Preventive Medicine 2025;37(1):36-39
Abstract
Hyperuricemia (HUA) is a metabolic disorder syndrome caused by purine metabolism dysregulation, and its prevalence increases year by year. The development and progression of HUA are accompanied by significant alterations in the composition of intestinal microbiota, making probiotics a potential and safe method to reduce serum uric acid. Probiotics ameliorate HUA through three pathways: competing with intestinal epithelial cells for purine absorption to decrease uric acid synthesis, inhibiting xanthine oxidase activity through modulation of inflammatory cytokines to reduce the conversion of purine to uric acid, as well as restoring and maintaining an orderly state of the gut microbiota to facilitate normal uric acid excretion. This article reviews the role of probiotics in ameliorating HUA, so as to provide the reference for the application of probiotics in the prevention and intervention of HUA.

Purpose:The image information and technique of positron emitter nuclei generated by high energy X-ray photonuclear reactions with body tissues from MM50 is studied. It is explored to verify for dose delivery and location monitoring in tumor target after high energy photon radiation therapy with the image information.Materials and Methods:The technique is based on the photonuclear reactio-as in body tissues elemental composition ~(12)C,~(16)O and ~(14)N with high energy X-Ray,energies well above 20 MeV,resulting primarily in ~(11)C and ~(15)O but also ~(13)N.The induced positron activity distributions were scanned off-line in a PET/CT after irradiation. The activity distributions and position may be used to verify for dose delivery and location in tumor target. These radiations are similar to RT in three fields with some different dose delivery from TPS.The phantom began to be scanned off-line in a PET/CT a couple of minutes after irradiation. The scanning time is respectively 20 minutes and(2~5)mniutes for ~(12)C and ~(16)O.The levels of the beam energy are 10MV,25MV,50 MV.The extent of dose is 1.0 Gy~10.0 Gy.Since measured PET images change with time post irradiation,as a result of the different decay tim-es of the radionuclides, the signals from activated ~(12)C,~(16)O within the irradiated volume could be separated from each other. Most informationis obrained from the carbon and oxygen radionuclide's which the most abundant elements are in soft tissue.A brain phantom Rlade oneself was irradiated with high energy X-ray beams from IBA MM50.The 3D radiation treatment planning system,Nucletron-TPP 3.2,was used to calculate the delivered dose distributions. The phantom was directly simulated in the Nucletron-TPP after CT scan.PET/CT is fro-m GE Discovery LS Ⅱ.Resuits:It was confirmed that no activity was detected at 10 Mv X-ray energy, which was far below the energy threshold for photonuclear reactions.Totally 25 MV X-ray beams can produce photonuclear reactions and get to activity distributions images in PET/CT.It need to greater dose in order to good images information. For 50 MV X-ray beams,2 Gy-3 Gy dose,a normal RT dose, can get to activity distributions images. Conclusions:It was concluded that the PET-CT image acquired from the activity of the ~(15)O and ~(11)C positron emitter nuclei might provide the area and dose distribution information of 50 MV X-ray irradiation in a phantom. It can verify the in vivo dose delivery and location in tumor target after high energy X-ray RT.

AIM: To investigate the effects and mechanisms of angiotensin-(1-7) on cardiac hypertrophy in pressure-overloaded rats. METHODS: Ar at model of pressure-overloaded heart was induced by constriction of abdominal aorta. Seventy-five male Sprague Dawley rats were randomized to sham-operated group, model control group and angiotensin-(1-7) treatment group. They were treated with intravenous infusion of angiotensin-(1-7) (25 microgram/kg per hour) or saline by minipump. RESULTS: Abdominal aortic banding resulted in a significant increases in LVW/BW, myocardial angiotensinⅡlevels, and p-ERK1/2 expression. Angiotensin-(1-7) had no effect on aortic banding-induced increases in myocardial angiotensinⅡlevels, but it significantly attenuated aortic banding-induced increases in LVW/BW and p-ERK1/2 expression. CONCLUSION: Angiotensin-(1-7) attenuates the development of cardiac hypertrophy in pressure-overloaded rats. It may be associated with the inhibition of p-ERK1/2 expression in cardiac tissue.
