Purpose To investigate the role of PTEN in podocyte injury in patients with diabetic nephropathy ( DN) . Methods Uri-nary samples from 30 patients with DN and 10 healthy volunteers were collected to detect the level of PCX by ELISA. Renal biopsies were reviewed to observe the morphological changes. All patients with DN were divided into three groups by glomerular lesion. The ex-pression of p-Akt and PTEN in glomeruli was detected by immunohistochemistry. Results The levels of PCX in the urine were signifi-cantly higher in patients with DN compared with those in healthy volunteers, and gradually increased along with glomerular lesion aggra-vating. The expression of p-Akt and PTEN increased in patients with DN compared with healthy volunteers. Although the expression of p-Akt and PTEN decreased with the aggravation of glomerular lesion, they were still higher than that in volunteers. There were obvious-ly positive correlation between the level of PCX and 24-h urinary protein and negative correlation between the level of PCX and the ex-pression level of p-Akt and PTEN. Conclusion PTEN down-regulation may be associated with podocyte injury in DN, which may be associated with the phosphorylation of Akt.

Objective: To investigate the inhibitory effect of Undaria pinnatifida polysaccharides (UPPS) on hepatocellular carcinoma HepG-2 cells and its possible mechanism. Method: The effect of inhibiting proliferation and inducting apoptosis of UPPS were determined by means of MTT and FCM. The expression of Bcl-2 and Bax proteins was immunohis to chemcally evaluated after treatment of UPPS. Results: UPPS inhibited HepG-2 cells growth in vitro , significantly higher than the negative control group (P

Objective To evaluate the measurement accuracy of serum gamma-glutamyltransferase (GGT) assays manufactured in China. Methods The International Federation of Clinical Chemistry and Laboratory Medicine (IFCC) reference method for GGT was set up and, after verification, was used to evaluate the performance of routine assay systems made in China. The evaluation was performed twice before and after a calibration by a common serum calibrator. Results For the reference measurement, the within run and total CVs were all less than 1%. The biases with the target values of IFCC External Quality Assessment Scheme for Reference Laboratories (RELA) were all within the limit of equivalence. Before a calibration with a common calibrator, the largest biases of results of GGT of the routine tasting systems compared with reference method at three medical decide levels were -47.53%, -34.11% and -30.07% respectively, and the averaged biases were 14.53% ,12.88% and 12.48%. After calibrating by fresh serum calibrator, the largest biases were reduced to - 17.63%, -5.88% and -4.08% ,the averaged biases were reduced to 7.50%, 2.70% and 1.87%. Conclusion The performance of GGT measurements can be effectively improved by using a common fresh serum calibrator that has a value assigned with the reference method.

Objective To develop a MOSAIQ Integration PlatformCHN (MIP) based on the workflow of radiotherapy (RT) and to meet the actual requirements in China and the special needs for the radiotherapy department. Methods MIP used C/S (client-server) structure mode running on the local network in the hospital and its database was based on the Treatment Planning System (TPS) and MOSAIQ database.Five network servers,as the core hardware, supplied data storage and network service based on cloud services. The core software was developed based on Microsoft Visual Studio Platform using C# network programming language. The MIP server could simultaneously offer network service for about 200 workstations, including entry, query, statistics, and print of data. Results MIP had 15 core function modules, such as Notice,Appointment,Billing,Document Management (application/execution),and System Management, which almost covered the whole workflow of radiotherapy.Up to June 2016,the recorded data in the MIP were as follows:13546 patients,13533 plan application forms,15475 RT records,14656 RT summaries,567048 billing records, and 506612 workload records. Conclusions The MIP based on the RT workflow has been successfully developed and used in clinical practice. It is an important part of radiotherapy information system construction with the advantages of intuitive operation,real-time performance, data security, and stable operation. It is digital,paperless,user-friendly,and convenient for the retrieval and statistics of data as well as information sharing and department management, and can significantly improve the efficiency of the department.More functions can be added or modified to enhance its potentials in research and clinical practice.
