Objective To investigate the preventing and curative value of endoscopic injectim sclerotherapy underlying endoscopic variceal ligations in the treatment of the patients suffering form esophageal varix recurrence. Methods The endoscopic injection sclerotherapy was performed to the patients whose esophageal varix varnished or nearly varnished after the endoscopic variceal ligation. Results There were sinificant differences (P < 0.05 ) between the group of the endoscopic variceal ligation combining more dose laurornacrogol and the group of the single endoscopic variceal ligation at the recurrence rate of bleeding. No severe complications were observed during the treatments. Conclusion The endoscopic injection clerotherapy of more amount doses lauromacrogol after the endoscopic variceal ligation can signiticantly reduce residual esophageal varix after the endoscopic variceal ligation and dday esophageal varix recurrrence.

Objective To investigate the factors related with plagiocephaly and brachycephaly. Methods 239 infants with plagiocephaly and brachycephaly were investigated, and analyzed with univariate analyses and multivariate Logistic regression analysis. Results The factors, such as gestational age birth (OR=0.636, P<0.001), birth weight (OR=0.095, P<0.001), time of hospitalization (OR=1.307, P<0.001), preterm birth (OR=2.649, P<0.001), stay in newborn intensive care unit (OR=4.456, P<0.001), change the position (OR=0.046, P<0.001), accepted early intervention guidance (OR=0.054, P<0.001), were significantly related with plagiocephaly and brachycephaly. Conclusion Preterm birth, low birth weight, and newborn complications are the risk factors for plagiocephaly and brachycephaly, while change the position and early intervention may prevent it.

OBJECTIVETo investigate the quality of life of elderly diabetic patients and its influencing factors.
METHODSBy randomized cluster sampling, we conducted a survey in 1450 elderly residents (over 60 years old) living in urban, suburban and rural areas in south and north Anhui province. We evaluated the quality of life of the elderly diabetic patients using a demographic information questionnaire and full items on Short Form (36) Health Survey (SF-36).
RESULTSThe elderly diabetic patients had lower scores in all dimensions of quality of life than the elderly without diabetes. Multiple linear regression analysis showed a linear regression in the quality of life among the elderly diabetic patients in terms of geographic regions, education, personality, sleep quality, and age.
CONCLUSIONElderly diabetic patients have generally poor quality of life, which was subjected to the influences by geographic regions, education, personality, sleep quality, and age, suggesting the necessity of corresponding interventions to improve the quality of life of these patients.
