Objective To study the inhibitory effect of CD/5 FC system on the prostate cancer cell DU145,RM 1 in vitro. Methods In vitro prostate cancer cells DU145 and RM 1 were infected by recombinant adenoviral vector and then the inhibitory effect and the bystander effect of CD/5 FC system were observed. Results CD/5 FC system had a remarkable inhibitory effect on prostate cancer cell DU145 and RM 1 in vitro, the inhibition rates being higher than 97% when infected by AdCMVCD after 4 days added with 15.5mmol/L 5 FC. A strong bystander effect could also be observed, more than 75% tumor cells being killed when only 10% were infected. Conclusions CD/5 FC system may serve as an effective gene therapeutic method. The existence of bystander effect makes itself available in the use of tumor treatment in vivo.

Currently, the incidence of breast cancer ranks first at home and abroad of female cancer and the age of onset tends to be younger.Due to the local changes of the tumor residual cavity after the breast conserving surgery,we can't accurately delineate the irradiation range using traditional breast conserving surgery combined with external irradiation of whole breast and tumor bed plus the amount, and the course of treatment is longer.Intra-operative radiation therapy (IORT) can avoid the impact of respiratory motion and postural changes.Meanwhile,it can immediately irradiate the tumor bed intraoperative accurately. For patients,IORT can shorten the cycle of radiotherapy and reduce irradiation on the skin and subcutaneous tissue. So IORT is convenient, easy to be accepted, and it has relatively few complications, good cosmetic results and so on.In recent years, more and more Cancer Center choose breast conserving surgery combined with IORT for the treatment of early stage breast cancer and do researches to the indications, methods, dosage, efficacy and prognosis of IORT.

AIM: To investigate the effects of propofol, midazolam and thiopental sodium on neurologic and histologic outcome from focal cerebral ischemia-reperfusion in a rat model of reversible middle cerebral artery occlusion (MCAO). METHODS: Male SD rats were scheduled to undergo 3 h MCAO by intraluminal suture and 24 h reperfusion. Neurologic outcome was scored with a 0-5 grading scale. Infarct volume was shown with TTC staining and measured by image analysis system. Ultrastructure of the tissues taken from the brim of the damaged area was examined under electron microscope. RESULTS: Both propofol and midazolam could attenuate neurologic deficits, reduce infarct and edema volumes, and ameliorate ultrastructure damage at the brim of lesion. Propofol showed better neuroprotection than midazolam while thiopental sodium did not exhibit protective effect. CONCLUSION: Propofol and midazolam, but not thiopental sodium, can provide protective effects against reperfusion induced injury in rats subjected to focal cerebral ischemia.

ObjectiveTo explore the clinical features, treatment, and outcomes of tachycardia induced cardiomy-opathy (TIC) in children.MethodsThe clinical data of 20 children with TIC hospitalized from January 2007 to October 2014 were retrospectively analyzed.ResultsIn 20 patients with TIC, there were 11 infants, one toddler, 5 pre-school age children, and 3 adolescent patients were as follows: 15 cases of atrial tachycardia (distributed in each age group), 3 cases of paroxysmal supraventricular tachycardia (2 in infancy and one in adolescence), and 2 cases of ventricular tachycardia (2 in infancy). After the treatment of anti-arrhythmic drugs, sinus rhythm was restored in 11 patients and ventricular rate was controlled in 5 patients while poor effect of drug was found in one patient who received radiofrequency ablation eventually and got cured. Three patients received radiofrequency ablation after admission immediately. Compared with those before treatment, left ventricular ejection fraction (LVEF) and left ventricular diastolic diameter (LVDD) measured by cardiac ultrasonography were signiifcantly improved after treatment (P<0.01).ConclusionsTIC is common in infancy. Atrial tachycardia is the main type of arrhythmia. Generally drug therapy is the ifrst choice in the treatment of TIC but in older children and those refractory to drug therapy the radiofrequen-cy ablation is chosen.
