Basic & Clinical Medicine 2006;0(08):-
Langerhans cell histiocytosis is an uncommon disease, involvement of the thyroid by langerhans cell histiocytosis is rare. Two cases of Langerhans cell histiocytosis of the thyroid confirmed by pathology were reported in this paper. The main clinical feature was enlargement of the thyroids. One patient had hypothyroidism. Meanwhile, the lungs and pituitaries of the two patients were affected. Langerhans cell histiocytosis of the thyroid had no typical symptoms and specific laboratory examination, and might be clinically diagnosed as chronic lymphocytic thyroiditis, benign or malignant thyroid tumors. Thyroid fine needle aspiration cytology might be useful in confirming the diagnosis. The effective treatments include systemic chemotherapy, local radiation therapy and surgical excision. The chemotherapy is still the major technological approach. Most patients can relieve partially after receiving the systemic chemotherapy.

Journal of Biomedical Engineering 2014;31(2):458-471
At present, the monitoring methods fwor intracranial pressure adopted in clinical practice are almost all invasive. The invasive monitoring methods for intracranial pressure were accurate, but they were harmful to the patient's body. Therefore, non-invasive methods for intracranial pressure monitoring must be developed. Since 1980, many non-invasive methods have been sprung out in succession, but they can not be used clinically. In this paper, research contents and progress of present non-invasive intracranial pressure monitoring are summarized. Advantages and disadvantages of various ways are analyzed. And finally, perspectives of development for intracranial pressure monitoring are presented.

Objective To investigate the distribution status of cytochrome CYP2C19 polymorphisms among patients with cardio-vascular diseases in Dongguan area .Methods A total of 1662 patients with cardiovascular diseases (CVD) in our hospital were se-lected .The peripheral blood was collected for extracting genomic DNA .The CYP2C19 genotype was detected by the polymerase chain reaction (PCR) combined with gene chip technology .The allele frequency and metabolic phenotype of CYP2C19 were com-pared between the CVD patients aged lower than 45 years and aged higher than 45 years old .Results Among 1662 cases ,713 cases (42 .90% ) were CYP2C19 extensive metabolizer ,740 cases(44 .52% ) were moderate metabolizer and 209 cases (12 .58% ) were poor metabolizer .The allele frequencies of CYP2C19﹡1 ,CYP2C19﹡2 and CYP2C19﹡3 were 65 .16% ,30 .08% and 4 .75% re-spectively .One hundred and four cases (40 .00% ) of extensive metabolisms were detected in the lower than 45 years old group ,104 cases(45 .38% ) of moderate metabolisms and 38 cases (14 .62% ) were detected .In the higher than 45 years old group ,609 cases (43 .44% ) of extensive metabolisms ,622 cases of moderate metabolisms and 171 cases(12 .20% ) of poor metabolism were detec-ted .The proportion of various genotypes had no statistical difference between the lower than 45 year old group and higher than 45 year old group(P>0 .05) .Conclusion Detecting CYP2C19 genotype for determining the genetic characteristics can evaluate the clopidogrel resistance risk and formulate the personalized anti-platelet therapeutic scheme .

AIM: To study the relationship between prostaglandins and acute pulpitis. METHODS: Rat traumatic pulpitis model was established by pulp exposure. The kinetic pathological changes in dental pulpal tissues and changes of PGE 2?6-Keto-PGF 1? and TXB 2 concentration in dental pulp were observed. RESULTS: After pulpal trauma, the dental pulp showed inflammatory changes and the concentrations of PGE 2?6-Keto-PGF 1? and TXB 2 were increased, which peaked at 6 hour post-trauma. CONCLUSION: Prostaglandins play a significant role in the pathogenesis of pulpitis.

Objective To translate the English version of Self-Stigma of Mental Illness Scale (SSMIS) into Chinese and evaluate the scale's reliability and validity. Methods According to Jones' Translation Model, the English version of Self-Stigma of Mental Illness Scale (SSMIS) was translated into Chinese. And then use the Self-esteem scale,self-efficacy scale to test the criterion validity of SSMIS.The study investigated in a sample of 192 patients with mental illness in Guangzhou city by convenience sampling. The exploratory factor analysis and Cronbach's α coefficient were used to test the scale's reliability and validity. Results The overall Coronach's α coefficient of SSMIS-C was 0.96,and the Coronach's α coefficient among the four subscales was from 0.90 to 0.94.The correlation coefficient between the total scale and each factor was from 0.81 to 0.90,the correlation coefficient among each factor was from 0.42 to 0.78.And the correlation coefficient between the self-esteem,self-efficacy and SSMIS-C showed statistical significance (r =-0.346 ~ -0.144) (P<0.05 or P<0.01).Conclusion The reliability and construct validity of SSMIS-C are in line with the requirements of psychometrics, which can be applied to self-stigma in China.

Objective To investigate the effects of extract of Ginkgo biloba leaves EGb761 on 1-methy-l 4-phenylpyridium (MPP+)-induced injury in human neuroblastoma SH-SY5Y cells; To discuss its mechanism of action. Methods Cell culture method was used and SH-SY5Y cell damage model was induced with different concentrations of MPP+ to build Parkinson’s disease model in vitro. The experiment was divided into control group, MPP+ model group, low-, medium-, and high-dose EGb761 groups. The survival rate was determined by MTT assay, and the apoptotic rate was detected by flow cytometry according to AnnexinV apoptosis detection kit. The cell morphology was observed by inverted microscope. NO content in SH-SY5Y cells was detected by Nitric acid reduction method. Results Compared with the control group, the survival rate of SH-SY5Y cells decreased and the apoptotic rate and NO content increased in the model group (P<0.05); Compared with the model group, the survival rate of SH-SY5Y cells increased and the apoptotic rate and NO content decreased in the low-, medium- and high-dose EGb761 groups (P<0.05).Conclusion EGb761 can protect MPP+-induced SH-SY5Y cell from damage by the inhibition of the content of NO free radical.

[Objective] To explore the methods of avoiding hemolysis in preparing serum complements of guinea pigs. [Methods] In method 1, the serum of 8 guinea pigs was fixed first and then sheep red blood cells (SRBC) were added to the mixed serum for absorption. In method 2, SRBC was added to the serum of 8 guinea pigs respectively for absorption first and then the serum containing SRBC was mixed. After the experiment, macroscopic examination was carried out to observe the hemolysis and the optical density of the two kinds of mixture was detected at the wavelength of 540 nm. [ Results] In the serum complements of guinea pigs prepared by method 1, macroscopic hemolysis occurred; in the serum complements prepared by method 2, macroscopic hemolysis was not obvious and the optical density of the mixture was lower than that by method 1 ( P
