OBJECTIVE To evaluate the efficacy of plasma sterilization system, observe and comprehend the(methods) and mechanisms of plasma sterilization.METHODS In application of plasma(sterilization) system, the(sterilization) processes were observed. The efficacy of this new system was shown by a biological test and chemical test.Comparative observation was conducted on the effective use time of wire of high-frequency electrode that had been sterilized in plasma sterilization system and Formalin smoke respectively.RESULTS The instrument that had been sterilized in plasma sterilization system all passed the tests and could be used immediately, manipulation of(plasma)(sterilization) system was easy, the effective use times of electrode′s wire were extended.CONCLUSIONS Plasma sterilization system can achieve effective sterilization with low(humidity),and no-toxicity.With shorter sterilization cycle time and lesser damage to surgery instruments, this new system improves the margin of safety and reduces(processing) costs.

Chinese Journal of Minimally Invasive Surgery 2001;0(05):-
Objective To investigate the efficacy of microendoscopic tubular retractor system (METRx) in the management of lumbar intervertebral disc herniation. Methods By using the METRx system with modified instruments, the lumbar discectomy was performed in 550 cases. During the operation, patients were placed in a knee-chest sitting position, and the instrumentation was utilized into the vertebral canal through the ligamenta flava. Results The patients were followed for 6~36 months (mean, 21 months). According to the Nakai criteria, the curative outcomes were “excellent” in 478 cases (86.9%), “good” in 60 cases (10.9%),“fair” in 6 cases (1.1%), and “poor” in 6 cases (1.1%). The 6 cases with “poor” results obtained “fair” results after a re-operation of lateral recess enlargement and residual nucleus removal under microendoscope. Conclusions Lumbar discectomy with the utilization of the METRx system is minimally invasive, safe and effective.

Objective:To investigate the effect of estrogen on the expression and distribution of IL-1 in the remodeling osteoporotic alveolar bone. Methods:Ovariectomy was performed on 30 female SD rats and sham operation on 15(control group). When osteoporosis was developed in the 30 ovary-removed rats, the left maxillary molars of all the rats were extracted. On the following day 15 of them were treated with intramuscular estrogen injection at 20 ?g/kg once every 3 days(treatment group).Another 15 rats with ovary removed received no treatment(osteoporosis group).7,30 and 60 days after teeth extraction 5 rats were killed respectively in each group.IL-1 expression in alveolar bone was examined immunohistochemically, and semiquantitative analysis of cellular-staining intensity was done by microphotometry. Results:The positive IL-1 expression were mainly located in the osteoclasts, vascular endothelial cells and fibroblasts.7 days after teeth extraction the cellular-staining intensity of IL-1 in control group, osteoporosis group and treatment group was 0.11?0.019,0.36?0.038 and 0.18?0.025 respectively(control or treatment group vs osteoporosis group,P

BACKGROUND: We have previously reported that marine algae polysaccharide derivant can significantly promote bone cell growth.OBJECTIVE: To observe the effect of marin algae polysaccharide derivant in treatment of osteoporosis.METHODS: Sixty female Wistar rats were randomly divided into control group, treatment group and model group. There were 20 rats in each group. The rats in treatment group and model group were respectively treated with retinoic acid to induce osteoporosis. The rats in treatment group were gavaged the marine algae polysaccharide derivant 10 mg/kg, and the rats in model group were gavaged the glucose 10 mg/kg orally for 14 days. Changes of rat femur bone histological examination and histomorphometry parameters were observed.RESULTS AND CONCLUSION: The mean Trabecular Number (Tb.N), the mean Trabecular Thickness (Tb.Th) and the percent Trabecular Area (Tb.Ar%) were significantly decreased in the model group compared with control group. The mean trabecular separation (Tb.Sp) was greatly increased. After intake of marine algae polysaccharide derivant, Tb.N, Tb.Th and Tb.Ar% of the treatment group were significantly more than that of the model group. The Tb.Sp was obviously reduced. These indicate that marine algae polysaccharide derivant can increase bone mass and have a therapeutic and preventional effect on the osteoporosis.

Objective To observe on the variance of serum IL-18 level and lymphocyte subpopulations in the patients with obese diabetic(T2DM).Methods The diabetic obese group contained 31 cases, the non-diabetic obese group contained 33 cases, healthy normal body weight group contained 23 cases, the blood glucose(FPG),insulin (FPI),blood total cholesterol(TC),triglyceride(TG),IL-18 and the cell population of lymphocyte subpopulations CD3+and CD4+、CD8+ in peripheral blood were determined, the insulin sensitivity index were calcnlated. Results Compared with the healthy normal body weight group, the blood fat,FPG,FPI,IL-18 of T2DM patients significantly increased, there were significant statistical difference(P < 0.05 or P < 0.01).The ISI significantly decreased(P < 0.01).Compared with the non-diabetic obese group, the blood fat and IL-18 of T2DM patients significantly increased (P<0.05).Compared with the diabetic obese group, the subpopulations cell population of CD3+、CD4+、CD8+ in the non-diabetic obese group significantly decreased, the ratio of CD4+/CD8+ significantly increased, there were significant statistical difference(P<0.05 or P<0.01)in the two groups comparison.Compared with the non-diabetic obese CD4+/CD8+ significantly increased(P<0.05).Conclusion T2DM patients should prevent the hyperinsulinemia, control blood sugar, reduce insulin resistance, sustain normal lipid metabolism, boost immune function.

Journal of Shanghai Jiaotong University(Medical Science) 2017;37(8):1079-1084
Objective · To investigate the gender-related metabolomic differences in human saliva. Methods · The saliva metabolomic profiles of 5 male and 5 female healthy volunteers with matched age, body mass index (BMI), living and tooth-brushing condition were acquired using ultra-high performance liquid chromatography with quadrupole time-of-flight mass spectrometry. Metabolites were identified using publicly accessible databases and further confirmed individually with standard compounds. Both multivariant and univariate statistics were conducted to find inter-gender differences. Results · Forty-eight metabolites in human saliva were identified including 13 amino acids, 6 choline metabolites, 15 carnitines, 4 sphinganine metabolites,7 lysophosphatidylcholine and 3 organic acids. Levels of phenylalanine, acetylcarnitine, propionylcarnitine, butyrylcarnitine, isobutyrylcarnitine, isovalerylcarnitine and sphinganine were higher in the saliva of females than that of males. Conclusion · Rich metabolic information present in human saliva with significant gender diffference which ought to be taken into consideration in study on the metabonomics of saliva.
