Colorectal cancer is one of the most commonly seen malignant neoplasms in digestive tract.Most patients with colorectal cancer died of metastasis.The details of the metastasis-associated mechanisms are not elucidated completely.Recently,many genes that are involved in this course were detected.In this paper,the latest advances in those metastasis-associated genes and coding genes including C-myc,Ras,Her-2 ,p53,deleted in colorectal cancer gene (DDC),phosphatase and tensin homologue (PTEN),nm23 and other code genes,such as CD44,matrix metalloproteinases (MMPs) and mucins will be reviewed.

This study was aimed to find the correlation between amino acid compositions and Cold-Heat Nature of traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) in order to provide basis for the research of TCM natural theory. A total of 17 kinds of amino acid were determined by application before column derivatization reaction and high-perfor-mance liquid chromatography (HPLC) and the tryptophan was determined by UV method. The data were collected for analysis by Fisher method in PAST software. The best statistical identification model was determined. And the Cold-Hot medicine property markers (CHMP-markers) were determined. The results showed that the discriminant function established by Fisher method based on 18 kinds of amino acid contents has good identification ability, and the accuracy of the Fisher discriminant analysis is 82%. Support vector machine (SVM) is the best statistical identification model . The cold and heat markers were analyzed by SVM . The cold nature material bases in-clude Glu, Gly, Arg, Thr, Ala, Tyr, Val, Ile and lys. And the heat nature material bases contain Asp, Ser, His, Pro, Met, Cys, Leu, Phe and Trp. It was concluded that there is relationship between 18 kinds of amino acid contents and the Cold-Heat nature of TCM .

BACKGROUND: Although nickel and chromium are essential elements of human body, over high concentration of them will produce many adverse effects to human body, therefore biological safety of nichrome material for dental restoration deserves attention.OBJECTIVE: To observe the changes of nickel and chromium content at 6 months and 1 year after porcelain-fused-to-nichrome crown restoration, and compare to healthy controls to investigate the long-term safety of nichorme in oral cavity.DESIGN, TIME AND SETTING: A case-control observation was performed between January 2006 and December 2007 at the First Affiliated Hospital of Hebei North University, Zhangjiakou, Hebei Province, China.PARTICIPANTS: Sixty patients who visited Department of Stomatology, the First Affiliated Hospital of Hebei North University, between January and December 2006 were included in test group, including 28 male, 32 female, the mean age was 40 years. Each of them had 3 anterior maxillary teeth restored by porcelain-fused-to-nichrome crowns, without other metal fillings or protheses. Sixty healthy cases visited the hospital at the same time were used as control, including 30 male, 30 female, the mean ages was 39 years.METHODS: Fasting venous blood of participants in two groups was harvested sterilely at 6 months and 1 year after test group restoration, serum nickel and chromium content were determined using graphite furnace atomic absorption spectrometry.MAIN OUTCOME MEASURES: ① Serum nickel content changes in test and control group. ②Serum chromium content changes in test and control groupRESULTS: All cases were involved in result analysis. ① Serum nickel content changes in test and control group: At 6 months postrestoration, there was no significant difference in serum nickel content between test group and control group (P>0.05). At 1 year after restoration, serum nickel content of test group was significantly higher than that of control group (P<0.05). ② Serum chromium content changes in test and control group: There was no significant difference in chromium content between test and control group at 6 months and 1 year after test group restoration (P>0.05).CONCLUSION: Nickel and chromium released from porcelain-fused-to-nichrome crowns after restoration under oral environment, serum nickel content had an increasing tendency with the prolongation of restoration time, but in small quantity and within biosafety range, to identify whether the increasing tendency will increased continuously with the prolongation of restoration time needs long-term follow-up.

Objective The investigate the clinical significance of serum anti-thyroid peroxidase antibody(TPOAb)monitoring in therapeutic effect judgment and prognosis evaluation during 131I treatment in patients with Graves disease.Methods A total of 112 patients with Graves disease(hyperthyroidism group)and 50 healthy controls(healthy control group)were enrolled in the investigation.Serum concentration of TPOAb was measured with chemiluminescent immunoassay(CLIA)in healthy control group and hyperthyroidism group(at time points of 0,3,6,12 and 24 months after 131I treatment,i.e.T0,T3,T6,T12 and T24).Variance analysis and t test were adopted.Results The mean level of TPOAb was significantly higher in patients with Graves' disease before 131I treatment than that in healthy controls(P＜0.01).In hypenthyroidism group,serum concentration of TPOAb was evidently higher at T3[(108.94±70.15)IU/mL]than T0[(81.95±47.64)IU/mL](P＜0.01);TPOAb level began to decline at T6[(42.78±28.68)IU/mL],but still higher than that of healthy control group;while where was no statistical difference in TPOAb level between hyperthyroidism group at T24[(7.89±4.01)IU/mL]and healthy control group(F＞0.05).Conclusion Serum level of TPOAb before treatment may be used as an auxiliary indicator of 131I dosage.Posttreatment TPOAb level monitoring contributes to therapeutic effect evaluation,follow-up visit and immunorcaction state understanding.

Aim: To study the distribution and excretion of baicalein and baicalin in rats. Methods: An LC/MS method was applied. Chromatographic separation was performed on a C_(18) column( 150 mm ×6.0 mm, 5 μm) with methanol-10 mmol/L ammonium acetate (containing 0. 5% formic acid) as the mobile phase. A trip-quadrupole tandem mass spectrometer was set in positive selected reaction monitoring mode. The sample was extracted with methanol-acetonitrile( 1:1) after the addition of phosphoric buffer solution and luteolin, which acted as the internal standard. The supernatant was evaporated to dryness, and the residual was reconstituted with mobile phase and analyzed. Results: The distribution profiles of the parent drug and its main metabolite showed two peaks between 20-40 min and 8-10 h after oral administration of baicalein, which fit the plasma concentration-time profile of baicalein in rats. At 20 min after the dosing, the concentration levels of baicalein were significantly higher than those of baicalin in stomach, liver and intestines, the converse result occurred in kidney. The excretion results showed that baicalin was the predominant excretion form in bile and urine, while baicalein was the negligible excretion form. There was more baicalein than baicalin in rat feces. Conclusion: Baicalein was absorbed and distributed quickly to various tissues and easily transformed to its metabolite at the same time.

Objective To investigate the bone metabolism of children with leukemia and its relationship to tumor necrosis factor-?(TNF-?)pre-and post-treatment.Methods Serum bone gla protein(BGP),the excretion rate of urianry deoxypyridinoline(DPD)and TNF-? were measured in 35 children with leucocythemia pre-and post-treatment and 30 normal children(control group).Results The results showed that BGP,the excretion rate of DPD and TNF-? in children with leucocythemia before treatment were significantly higher than those in control group.However,the excretion rate of DPD decreased after chemotherapy but still significantly higher than that of control group(P0.05).Conclusions In children with leukemia,there are bone absorption and bone dissolution before chemotherapy,while there is osteogenesis dysfunction and bone absorption after chemotherapy.TNF-? can be used as a parametre for evaluating treatment effect and monitoring relapse.

Objective To investigate the value of FDG PET-CT in the outcome assessment and prognostic evaluation for recurrent nasopharyngeal carcinoma (rNPC).Methods From January 2008 to December 2013,92 rNPC patients were treated in our center,who were histologically or radiologically diagnosed and re-staged according to the 2008 clinical staging system for nasopharyngeal carcinoma in China.The numbers of patients in stage Ⅰ,stage Ⅱ,stage Ⅲ,and stage Ⅳ were 8,11,39,and 34,respectively.According to the recurrent T stage (rT),the numbers of patients in rT1,rT2,rT3,and rT4 were 10,11,38,and 33,respectively.Twenty-eight patients had recurrence in the neck lymph nodes.All patients underwent pretreatment FDG PET-CT for the whole body or head/neck,and treated by radiotherapy with or without chemotherapy.The relationship of maximum standard uptake value (SUVmax) and clinical factors with clinical outcomes was analyzed.The Kaplan-Meier method was used to calculate overall survival (OS),disease-free survival (DFS),local recurrence-free survival (LRFS),regional recurrence-free survival (RRFS),and distant metastasis-free survival (DMFS).The log-rank test was used for survival difference analysis and univariate prognostic analysis.The Cox model was used for multivariate prognostic analysis.Results The 3-year OS,DFS,LRFS,RRFS,and DMFS were 33.6％,32.1％,32.8％,31.8％,and 33.7％,respectively.The median SUVmax was 8.35 (2.7-21.5).The SUVmax of 7.0 was taken as the optimal cut-off value for all patients.Patients with SUVmax ≤7.0 had a significantly higher 3-year OS rate than those with SUVm ax ＞7.0 (42.0％ vs.28.3％,P=0.019).The univariate analysis revealed that patient age,SUV and rN were significantly associated with OS (P=0.023,0.019,and 0.002).The multivariate analysis showed that SUVmax and rN were significant influencing factors for OS,DFS,and DMFS (HR=1.68,P=0.045 and HR=2.23,P=0.003;HR=1.67,P=0.042 and HR=2.39,P=0.001;HR=1.77,P=0.025 and HR=2.40,P=0.001).Conclusions SUVmax may be one of the useful prognostic factors for OS,DFS,and DMFS in rNPC patients.
