BACKGROUND: Knee arthroplasty can correct the joint deformity, alleviate the pain and improve the joint function,thereby improving the patients' quality of life. Early rehabilitative training is the key to the functional recovery of the joint.OBJECTIVE: To observe the clinical effectiveness of early gait training on the rehabilitation of patients after knee arthroplasty.METHODS: Eighty-six cases undergoing unilateral knee arthroplasty in the Department of Sports Medicine were selected and randomly divided into experimental and control groups (n=43 per group). The experimental group wasgiven rehabilitation instruction before operation, and the gait training was carried out just after the operation. The patients in the control group only received the basic rehabilitation training. The Visual Analogue Scale and the Hospital for Special Surgery scores were evaluated at baseline and 2, 4, and 8 weeks, and 6 months postoperatively, and the clinical effectiveness was compared between two groups.RESULTS AND CONCLUSION: (1) The range of motion of the knee in the experimental group was significantly higher than that in the control group at 4 and 8 weeks, and 6 months postoperatively (P < 0.05). (2) At 8 weeks and 6 months postoperatively, the Visual Analogue Scale scores in the two groups both were significantly decreased (P < 0.05). (3) At 2 weeks postoperatively, the Hospital for Special Surgery scores in both groups were significantly increased (P < 0.05);the scores at 8 weeks postoperatively in the experimental group were higher than those in the control group (P > 0.05);the scores at 6 months postoperatively in the experimental group were significantly higher than those in the control group (P < 0.05). (4) These findings suggest that compared with conventional training, early gaiting training can significantly improve the range of motion and pain of the knee, as well as enhance the functional recovery of the knee joint, which exhibits remarkable curative efficacy in the rehabilitation following knee arthroplasty.

Objective To design and implement an automatic analysis and evaluation system for the image parameters of medical MRI quality testing.Methods The system was developed and debugged by the study on MRI image quality parameters,the image denoising,integration,extraction and etc by MATLAB processing platform as well as the comparison and comparative calculation of the obtained data.Results The system replaced manual operation by auto processing and parameters analysis of MRI quality inspection image.Conclusion The system enhances the efficiency and avoids artificial error,and has a promising prospect in the future.

Objective To investigate the effect of propofol on nNOS expression after focal cerebral ischemia-reperfusion in rats and the possible mechanism of protective effect of propofol on brain. Method Seventy-eight male Wistar rats, weighting 250 ~ 300 g, were randomly divided into 3 groups:(1)Sham operation group (S group, n=6) was performed with scham operation; (2) Ischemia-reperfusion group (group I-R, n=36) was subjected to 2-hour right middle cerebral artery occlusion and then reperfusion was followed, saline (1 mg/kg) was injected into the right lateral cerebral ventricle using microsyringe before reperfusion;(3) Propefol group (group P, n=36) was injected with propofol (1mg/kg) into the right lateral cerebral ventricle using microsyringe right after ischemia. Group I-R and group P were divided into 3 subgroups according to the reperfusion time: 1 h, 3 h and 6 h. The neurological function of all rats were tested before reperfusion. The cerebral infarction area of the whole brain was calculated with TIC staining (n=6). The pathological change of brain was observed from HE staining (n=6) and the nNOS protein expression was obtained by immuno- histochemical method (n=6). OBJECTIVETo study the effect of Q-switched 1 064 nm Nd:YAG laser treatment on the proliferation of dermal collagen and expression of immunoglobulin binding protein/glucose related protein 78 (BiP/GRP78) in rats' skin and the mechanism of endoplasmic reticulum stress.

METHODSDorsal skin of 25 Wistar rats was divided into two parts equally after hair removal. Q-switched 1 064nm Nd:YAG laser was applied to treat rats' dorsal skin for 4 times at an interval of 2 days in the experiment part. The control part received no laser treatments. The rats' dorsal skin samples were taken on the 14th and 30th day after laser treatment to measure the dermis thickness and collagen bundles under HE stain and to measure the hydroxyproline content by alkaline hydrolysis method after laser treatment. The expression of BiP/GRP78 was also detected by immunohistochemical method. Statistics was used to analyze the data.

RESULTSThe dermis thickness increased by 29. 6% on the 14th day and 16.7% on the 30th day after laser treatment. The collagen bundles became thicker and denser. The hydroxyproline in the skin was also raised after laser treatment (P < 0.05). The immunohistochemical result showed the expression of BiP/GRP78 increased to 100% after laser treatment, showing a significant difference from the control group(X2 = 28.76, P < 0.01).

CONCLUSIONSThe Q-switched 1064 nm Nd:YAG laser treatment can induce endoplasmic reticulum stress, so as to enhance the protein folding and synthesizing precisely. The proliferation of dermis collagen is the base of effect of non-ablative skin rejuvenation.

OBJECTIVETo investigate the correlation of the fertilization strategy and embryo transfer (ET) time with the incidence of ectopic pregnancy.

METHODSWe selected 3,331 fresh and 2,706 frozen-thawed ET cycles for the patients undergoing in vitro fertilization (IVF) and intracytoplasmic sperm injection (ICSI). The fresh transfers included 2 546 IVF-ET and 785 ICSI-ET cycles and 2,220 day-3 embryo and 1,111 day-5 blastocyst transfers, while the frozen-thawed transfers included 2,080 IVF-ET and 626 ICSI-ET cycles and 741 day-3 embryo and 1 965 day-5 or -6 blastocyst transfers. We compared the incidence rate of ectopic pregnancy associated with different fertilization strategies and ET time.

RESULTSThe incidence rate of ectopic pregnancy was 1. 41% (36/2 546) in the IVF-ET cycles and 3.44% (27/785) in the ICSI-ET cycles of the fresh transfers, significantly lower in the IVF-ET than in the ICSI-ET cycles (P < 0.01), and it was 1.01% (21/2,080) in the IVF-ET cycles and 0.80% (5/626) in the ICSI-ET cycles of the frozen-thawed transfers, with no remarkable difference between the two groups (P > 0.05). The IVF-ET and ICSI-ET cycles included 2,220 fresh day-3 (F-D3) embryos, 1,111 F-D5 blastocysts, 741 frozen-thawed day-3 (T-D3) embryos, and 1,965 T-D5/6 blastocysts. The incidence rate of ectopic pregnancy was 1.71% (n = 38) in the F-D3, 2.25% (n = 25) in the F-D5, 1.35% (n = 10) in the T-D3, and 0.81% (n = 16) in the T-D5/6 group, respectively, significantly lower in the T-D5/6 than in the other three groups (P < 0.05).

CONCLUSIONThe incidence rate of ectopic pregnancy is associated with fertilization strategies, which is significantly lower in frozen-thawed than in fresh embryo transfers.

Objective To characterize the molecular characteristics of hemagglutinin (HA) and neuraminidase (NA) of influenza B viruses isolated in Jiangsu province,2011.Methods Thirteen strains of influenza B virus in different areas and epidemic period in Jiangsu province,2011 were selected for whole-genome sequencing,and analysis of molecule epidemic characteristics for HA and NA was carried out by bioinformatics method.Results Of the 13 randomly selected influeuza B strains,10 strains were assorted to Victoria lineage strains with NA genes from Yamagata lineage,and 3 strains belong to Yamagata lineage.Compared nucleotide and amino acid sequences of HA and NA genes with their vaccine strains respectiuely,196/197 glycosylation site appeared on HA1 gene in Yamagata/Victoria isolates virus.Conclusion Both B/Victoria and B/Yamagata lineage viruses co-circulated in Jiangsu province,and reassortant virus of Victoria lineage were predominant virus.

Objective To investigate the levels of trace elements such as fluorine(F), and aluminium (Al)etc. of osteomalacia malformation children and to make etiological diagnosis in reference with clinical manifestations.Methods Urine and occipitalia hairs of 14 diseased children(patient group) from endemic fluorosis area and 13 healthy children(control group) from non-endemic area were included in the study on November, 2008, and contents of 10 elements of fluorine(F), aluminum(Al), chromium(Cr), manganese(Mn), ferrum(Fe), cuprum(Cu), zinc(Zn), arsenic (As), selenium(Se), strontium(Sr), and barium(Ba) were tested. The data were analyzed with medical soft package PEMS 3.1. Results Urinary contents of F, Al, Mn, Cu, Sr, and Se(1.18 mg/L, 112.6 μg/L,6.62,29.86 mg/L, 177.5,4.23 ng/L) in patient group were significantly different from those in control group (0.48,47.1,2.04,16.61 mg/L, 55.17,15.52 ng/L, t = 4.592,2.486,4.850,2.210 2.078,2.912, all P＜ 0.05); Hair contents of Al, Mn, As, Sr, Ba, Fe, and Se in patient group(59.27,5.26,0.96,1.50,1.29,297.13,0.45 mg/kg)were significantly different from those of control group( 18.69,0.72,1.09,0.62,0.68,69.02,1.323 mg/kg, t = 4.583,6.318,3.309,2.704,5.606,6.294, all P ＜ 0.05); in patient group, the correlation coefficients of urinary Fe to Al,Zn, As, and Se were all bigger tan 0.662(all P＜ 0.05), those of urinary Se to Mn, Ba, Cu, Zn, Sr, and As were all bigger than 0.694(all P＜ 0.05), those among urinary Mn, Sr, As, and Ba were bigger than 0.550(all P＜0.05), those of hair Al to Mn, Cr, Fe, and Cu were bigger than 0.732(all P＜ 0.05), those of hair Ba to Mn,Cr, Fe, and Sr, and of hair Mn to Cr and Fe, and those between Cr and As, between Cu and Sr were all bigger than 0.686 (all P ＜ 0.05). In control group, the correlation coefficients of urinary Cu to Zn, Se, and Ba, those of Zn to Se and Ba, and those of Cr to Mn and Ba were all bigger than 0.516(all P ＜ 0.05), those of hair Al to Mn,Fe, Cu, As, and Se, and those of hair Se to Fe, Cu, and As, those of hair Fe to Mn, Cu, and As, those of hair Cu to Zn and As, and that between Zn and As were bigger than 0.739(all P ＜ 0.05). The correlation coefficient of urinary F to Se in patient group(0.762) was significantly different from that in control group( - 0.469, u = 2.079,P ＜ 0.05). Conclusions The burden of F and Al of osteomalacia malformation children in endemic fluorosis area of Shuicheng county is too high. The contents of multi-elements in urine and hairs and their correlation are coincident with high levels of Al and F and they cause network increase of multi-element content changes and their correlation. According to bone X-ray features combining with the living environment, the diagnosis of endemic Al-F fluorosis can be made. The biological significance of reducing urinary and hair Se levels and the correlations of F and Al need to be further studied.

Objective To investigate the morphological and functional alterations of peritoneum in uremic rats undergoing peritoneal dialysis(PD). Methods Thirty-five male Wistar rats were randomly divided into control group(sham operated group,n=6),uremia group(5/6 nephrectomy,n=6) and uremia with PD group(n=18).Uremia with PD group was subdivided into three subgroups according to different dialysis period(10 d,4 weeks and 8 weeks,n=6).Omenta were obtained for morphological examination,and peritoneal equilibration tests(PET) were performed to assess the transport function of peritoneal membrane. Results The number of blood vessels per high-power field in the uremia group,uremia with PD group and uremia with PD subgroups(5?3,10?5,17?5 and 19?4) were significantly increased compared with the control group(1?1),and that was much bigger in the uremia with PD group than the uremia group(P

RNA has received more attention in the field of forensic medicine and the development of the new biological markers based on RNA shows great significance in the analysis of complex cases. circular RNA (circRNA) is a kind of non-coding RNA which is widely reported recently. Although the regulatory mechanisms of generation and expression are not fully clear, the existing research indicates that circRNA has important biological functions. CircRNA has a cell-type-specific expression with great stability and a high expression level, which makes it meaningful in forensic applications potentially. In this paper, the research progress, the generation and regulation of circRNA as well as its biological characteristics and functions are summarized, which will provide references for related studies and forensic applications.

Objective :To study influence of cardiac rehabilitation combined routine treatment on cardiac function and ECG in patients with ischemic cardiomyopathy (ICM).Methods :A total of 108 ICM patients treated in our hospital from Jul 2013 to May 2017 were randomly and equally divided into routine treatment group and cardiac rehabilitation group (received cardiac rehabilitation therapy based on routine treatment group ) ,both groups were treated for eight weeks .LVEF ,left ventricular fractional shortening (LVFS) ,QT dispersion (QTd) ,T peak‐T end interval (Tp‐e) before and after treatment ,and therapeutic effect were observed and compared between two groups .Results :Total effective rate of cardiac rehabilitation group was significantly higher than that of routine treatment group (87. 0%vs.75.9%) , P＝0.043. Compared with before treatment ,there were significant rise in LVEF and LVFS ,and sig‐nificant reductions in QTd and Tp‐e in two groups after eight‐week treatment (except Tp‐e of routine treatment group) , P＜0.05 or ＜0.01. Compared with routine treatment group after treatment ,there were significant rise in LVEF [(42.3 ± 5.8)% vs.(49.8 ± 6.5)%] and LVFS [(25.6 ± 6.1)% vs.(35.2 ± 6. 9)%] ,and significant reduc‐tions in QTd [ (52. 3 ± 6. 3) ms vs .(45. 2 ± 7. 1) ms] and Tp‐e [ (129.7 ± 12. 5) ms vs.(118. 5 ± 13.0) ms] in car‐diac rehabilitation group ,P＝0.001 all.Conclusion :Cardiac rehabilitation combined routine treatment possesses sig‐nificant therapeutic effect on ICM patients .It can significantly improve cardiac function .
