4.Nerve Regeneration after Spinal Cord Injury(review)
Chinese Journal of Rehabilitation Theory and Practice 2006;12(7):556-558
There was an early view that the injured neurons and axons in central neural system couldn't regenerate after injury. However, it was found by recent researches that the injured neurons and axons can recover in different degrees after spinal cord injury of adult animals. In proper environment, some injured axons of central nervous system can regenerate slightly and form functional synaptic connections with target cells. Based on that, application of neurotrophic factors and cellular transplant therapy might be developed to treat spinal cord injury in the future.
5.Observation of early rehabilitation on patients with severe closed traumatic brain injury
Chinese Journal of Rehabilitation Theory and Practice 2005;11(4):284-285
ObjectiveTo observe the effect of early rehabilitation on patients with severe closed traumatic brain injury in intensive care unite (ICU).Methods118 patients with severe closed traumatic brain injury were divided randomly into the treatment group and control group with 59 cases in each group. The patients of control group recieved respiration rehabilitation, bedsore prevention and urinary system nursing; while the patients of treatment group added with motor and cognitive rehabilitation. Scores of Glasgow coma scale (GCS), Fugl-Mayer assessment (FMA), mini-mental status examination (MMSE), disability rating scale (DRS) and activities of daily living (ADL) of all patients were recorded before and after treatment.ResultsThe scores of GCS, FMA (upper limbs), ADL and DRS of the treatment group patients were significantly difference with that of the control group after treatment (P<0.05). The MMSE scores of two groups had no significantly difference after treatment (P>0.05).ConclusionEarly rehabilitation on the patients of severe closed traumatic brain injury in ICU can improve brain function and reduce the disability rating scale. The improvement of cognitive ability is not obviously in a shot period.
6.Advances in the treatment of platinum-resistant ovarian cancer with PARP inhibitors
Journal of International Oncology 2021;48(3):180-183
Poly ADP-ribose polymerase(PARP)inhibitor is a targeted biological agent for the treatment of ovarian cancer, which is mainly suitable for platinum-sensitive ovarian cancer patients. However, data from clinical trials showed that PARP inhibitors have certain therapeutic effect on platinum-resistant or platinum-refractory ovarian cancer patients. It may become a new hope for treatment of ovarian cancer patients in the future.
7.Status and advance in study on substance basis of Chinese compound prescription
Chinese Traditional and Herbal Drugs 1994;0(11):-
Chinese compound priscriptions of traditional herbs are widely used in the alternative therapy for all kinds of diseases It remains unclear how the compounds in different herbs interact each other and which exacting mechanism can complain their effects The components and pharmacological effects of the combination of Chinese herbs are not due to the simple mixture of single herb's The substance basis research of combination herbs is one of the important issue for understanding their pharmacological mechanism Here the recent progress on the substance basis research of combination Chinese traditional herbs is reviewed, including the combinative effects and quantity ratio relation study, herbs serum study, chemical compounds research, the methods and techniques in chemical components analysis, and application foreground of Chinese compound priscription
8.An in vitro study on substance P-stimulated neuro-immune mechanism of mast cell degranulation.
Journal of Clinical Otorhinolaryngology Head and Neck Surgery 2015;29(12):1118-1120
OBJECTIVE:
The goal of this study was to study the mechanism of substance P (SP)-mediated the neural control of mast cell (MC) degranulation.
METHOD:
Bone marrow mast cells from mice were cultured with stem cell factor (SCF), IL-3 and IL-4 (group A) and SCF, IL-3 (group B) for four weeks. Then the cells were harvested and reserved for studies. Western Blot hybridization technique was used to detect the expression of FcεR I α and NK-1R on MCs from the two groups. Then such cells were activated with SP (0, 0. 01, 0. 10, 1. 00, 10. 00 µg/ml, respectively) for 30 min. The histamine released into the supernatant and stored in the protoplasm was quantified by enzyme linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). And the percentage of histamine release was calculated as a percent of total histamine content.
RESULT:
The expressions of FcεR I α and NK-1R on these mast cells in group A were statistically higher than in group B (P<0. 05). The MCs from two groups can be actived when stimulated by SP, but the level of MC degranulation in group A was higher than group B (P<0. 05).
CONCLUSION
Neuropeptide may stimulate MC degranulation through immunological and non-immunological pathways. In summary, the current study provides us with better understanding of the mechanism of neuropeptide-controlled MC deranulation, and this should be helpful for the further research involved in the mechanism and treatmemt of airway hyper-reactivity.

9.Toll-like receptors and their role in sepsis
Yunzhao ZHAO ; Ning LI ;
Journal of Medical Postgraduates 2003;0(08):-
The Toll like receptors(TLRs)are essential transmembrane signaling receptors of the innate immune system that alert the host to the presence of a microbial invader. The recent discovery of the TLR has rapidly expanded our knowledge of molecular events that initiate host pathogen interactions. These functional attributes of the cellular receptors provide insights into the nature of pattern recognition receptors that activate the human antimicrobial defense systems. The fundamental significance of the TLR in the generation of systemic inflammation and the pathogenesis of septic shock is reviewed. The potential clinical implications of therapeutic modulation of these recently characterized receptors of innate immunity are also discussed.
