1.Role of nuclear factor-κB in brain ischemic preconditioning
International Journal of Cerebrovascular Diseases 2010;18(11):865-871
Brain ischemic conditioning (BIP) can improve the tolerance to ischemic injury in the brain. Nuclear factor-κB (NF-κB) is an important transcriptional regulatory factor. It presents in all types of cells in the nerous system. Studies have suggested that BIP may exert neuroprotective effects by mediating NF-κB through a series of cascade reactions. This may provide a new therapeutic strategy for BIP in the prevention and treatment of ischemic cerebrovascular disease in clinical practice.
3.Pentraxin 3 and cerebral ischemia
International Journal of Cerebrovascular Diseases 2016;24(5):469-472
Pentraxin (PTX) 3 is a typical long PTX. As an inflammatory marker, the plasma PTX3 level is elevated in atherosclerosis, cardiovascular disease, infection, inflammation, autoimmune disease and tissue injury. Recently studies have shown that the plasma PTX3 level rapidly increased during the acute phase of ischemic cerebrovascular disease. Detection of plasma PTX3 level may be contribute to the diagnosis, treatment and prognostic judgment of acute cerebral infarction.
4.Determination of spinosin and ferulic acid in Suanzaoren Decoction by RP-HPLC
Chinese Traditional and Herbal Drugs 1994;0(07):-
Object To develop an RP-HPLC method for determination of spinosin and ferulic acid in Suanzaoren Decoction (SZRD). Methods Hypersil C 18 column was used. The mobile phase consisted of acetonitrile-water with 1% glacial acetic acid (17∶83) for spinosin and (16∶84) for ferulic acid. Detection wavelengths were set at 334 and 320 nm, respectively. The internal standard was p-hydroxybenzaldehyde for ferulic acid. Results The linear ranges for spinosin and ferulic acid were 0.960—13.44 ?g/mL (r=0.999 8) and 2.04—27.2 ?g/mL (r=0.999 7), respectively. The recoveries for them were 98.4% and 98.8%, respectively. The RSD were 2.5% and 2.8%, respectively. Conclusion This method is simple, rapids and accurate, and can be used for the determination of spinosin and ferulic acid in SZRD.

AIM: To develop an RP HPLC method for determination of mangiferin and glycyrrhizic acid in Suanzaoren Decoction(Semen Ziziphi Spinosae, Poria, Rhizoma Ligustici Chuanxiong, Rhizoma Anemarrhenae, Radix Glycyrrhizae). METHODS: Hypersil C 18 column was used. The mobile phase consisted of acetonitrile water(13∶87,v/v) with 1% glacial acetic acid for mangiferin and methanol acetonitrile water(25∶15∶60,v/v) with 1% acetic acid for glycyrrhizic acid, respectively. Detection wavelengths were set at 320nm and 254nm, respectively. The internal standards were vanillin for mangiferin and mebendazole for glycyrrhizic acid, respectively. The flow rates were both 0.8mL?min -1 . RESULTS: The linear ranges for mangiferin and glycyrrhizic acid were 10.72~85.76?g?mL -1 ( r =0.9998) and 0.080~0.80mg?mL -1 ( r =0.9997), respectively. The average recoveries were 97.2% with RSD 3.0% and 97.6% with RSD 2.4%, respectively. CONCLUSION: This method is simple, rapid and accurate, and can be used for the determination of mangiferin and glycyrrhizic acid in Suanzaoren decoction.
6.Medical Image′s Conversion from DICOM to Conventional Format
Chinese Medical Equipment Journal 2003;0(10):-
The DICOM standard has greatly promoted the development of Medical Imaging and Communication. It′ s necessary to extract the pixels and convert the bytes to the format we need when process the DICOM files. JAVA open-source toolkit can be used to do this conversion with much convenience.
7.Effects of puerarin on GLUT4 in adipocyte of rats with insulin resistance
Chinese Journal of Clinical Pharmacology and Therapeutics 2004;0(08):-
AIM: To investigate the effects of puerarin on expression and translocation of glucose transporter 4(GLUT4) in adipocyte of rats with insulin resistance induced by diets. METHODS: Experimental rats were divided into three groups: control group (n=10), model group (n=10) and puerarin group (n=10) randomly. Animals in model group and puerarin group were fed with the diets enriched with sucrose (20%, w/w), lard (10%, w/w), cholesterol( 2.5%, w/w) and cholic acid (1%, w/w) to induce insulin resistance. Puerarin group were treated with puerarin (100 mg?kg -1 body weight, ip) every day for 6 weeks. After the plasma membranes and the intracellular membranes of adipocyte were prepared and separated, GLUT4 protein was detected by Western blot analysis. Body weight, serum triglyceride and cholesterol, fasting plasma glucose and serum insulin concentration were detected termly. And the insulin sensitivity index was also calculated. RESULTS: Western blot analysis showed that intracellular membranes GLUT4 protein in adipocyte of model group rats decreased by 38.72% (P
8.Nerve Growth Factor and Neuroplasticity
International Journal of Cerebrovascular Diseases 2006;0(04):-
Nerve growth factor may play its particular role in promoting the development of neuroplasticity after central nervous system and peripheral nerve injury. Its possible mechanisms are associated with regulation of TrkA receptor, activation of L-type calcium channel, promoting the release of acetylcholine, regulation of long-term potentiation and long-term depression. The study of the mechanisms of nerve growth factors for promoting neuroplasicity may provide novel therapeutic approaches for the treatment and rehabilitation of stroke, Alzheimer's disease, and peripheral nerve injury, and it may facilitate the development of the therapeutic drugs.
9.The influence of carotid artery stenosis on neurological outcomes in patients undergoing off-pump coronary artery bypass grafting
Chinese Journal of Internal Medicine 2012;51(9):687-689
ObjectiveTo investigate the influence of carotid artery stenosis on the incidence of neurological complication in patients undergoing off-pump coronary artery bypass grafting.MethodsWe prospectively analyzed 176 consecutive patients ≥60 years old undergoing selective off-pump coronary artery bypass grafting (from June 2010 to July 2011 ).Carotid duplex ultrasound screening was used to determine the presence and severity of carotid artery before surgery. Neurological complications 7 days after surgery were compared between the patients with ( ≥75% ) and without severe carotid artery stenosis ( < 70% ).Multivariate analysis was used to determine the predictor of severe carotid artery disease.ResultsSixteen patients (9.1% ) were found to have severe carotid artery stenosis before surgery. Thirty-seven patients (20.8% ) had single or multiple neurological complications:1 (0.6% ) had stroke; 12 (6.7%) had hypoxic-metabolic encephalopathy; 21 ( 11.8% ) had cognitive dysfunction; 3 ( 1.7% ) had depression. When compared with the counterparts, patients with severe carotid artery stenosis had a higher rate of neurological complications (43.8% vs 18.8% ; P =0.044).In multivariate analysis, significant predictive factor for severe carotid artery stenosis was prior stroke ( OR:4.04 ; 95% CI 1.22-13.37 ).Conclusion Severe carotid artery stenosis alone is a risk factor for neurological complication after off-pump coronary artery bypass grafting and prior stroke is a predictor for sever carotid artery disease.
