1.A comparative research of peripherally inserted central catheter and central venous catheter in cancer chemotherapy

Objective To analyze the difference of the peripherally inserted central venous catheter (PICC) and central venous catheter (CVC) in cancer chemotherapy.Methods All eligible studies on PICC and CVC were searched in China National Knowledge Infrastructure,Wanfang database and VIP database.The Jadad scale was used for quality assessment of all the included studies.All analysis were conducted in Stata 12.0.Results Thirty-six studies with a total of 4920 cases of patients were included in this meta-analysis,with 2349 cases in PICC group and 2571 cases in CVC group.PICC group had advantages in puncture success rate for the first time,the average puncture time,the average catheter time than the CVC group.PICC group had fewer complication,such as the hemopneumothorax incidence,the strayed artery incidence and catheter infection incidence; however,the phlebitis incidence was higher than the CVC group.Conclusions PICC has some advantages specific in simple operation,a long retention time,fewer complications and safety.Therefore,PICC can be widely used in cancer chemotherapy.
2.Inhibiting tubular epithelial myofibroblast transdifferentiation by transgene of antisense vascular smooth muscle alpha actin in vitro

Objective To evaluate the inhibiting effect of antisense vascular smooth muscle alpha adenovirus vector on tubular epithelial myofibroblast transdifferentiation induced by TGF-?1.Methods The pAdanti-?-SMA was constructed and identified.The ?-SMA expression in tubular epithelial cells(TEC) was detected by immunofluorescence and Western blot.Five groups were designed as control(A),TEC transfected by 2 ?l pAdanti-?-SMA(B),TEC induced by TGF-?1(C),TEC induced by TGF-?1 and transfected by 2 ?l pAdanti-?-SMA(D),TEC induced by TGF-?1 and transfected by 10 ?l pAdanti-?-SMA(E).Results The pAdanti-?-SMA was successfully constructed.The expression of ?-SMA in TEC induced by TGF-?1 was inhibited by pAdanti-?-SMA.Conclusion Tubular epithelial myofibroblast transdifferentiation can be inhibited by pAdanti-?-SMA.
3.Effect of erythropoietin on high glucose-induced epithelial-mesenchymal transition in renal proximal tubular epithelial cells

ObjectiveTo investigate the protective effect of erythropoietin (EPO) on human renal tubular epithelial-mesenchymal transition (EMT) induced by high glucose. MethodsCultured HK-2 cells were divided into 5 groups: normal control group, osmolarity control group, high glucose group, high glucose with EPO (5 U/ml)group and high glucose with EPO (10 U/ml)group. The mRNA expression of α-SMA, TGF-β1, Smad2, ILK of cells were measured by RT-PCR. The levels of intracellular α-SMA and TGF-β1 protein were measured by immunocytochemistry. ResultsCompared with the control groups, mRNA expression of α-SMA, TGF-β1, Smad2, ILK and protein expression of α-SMA and TGF-β1 were increased after high glucose treatment (P<0.01). Compared with the high glucose group, EPO 5 U/ml or EPO 10 U/ml remarkably down-regulated the expression of α-SMA, TGF-β1, Smad2 and ILK (P<0.01). ConclusionEPO can inhibit the progression of EMT and the up-regulation of TGF-β1, Smad2 and ILK induced by high glucose.
4.Progesterone on the expression of ADAM10,Ob-R and the secretion of SLR,LEP in human chorionic tropho-blast cells

Objective To investigate the different concentrations of progesterone on the expression of a disintegrin and metalloprotease 10 (ADAM10),long form leptin receptor (Ob-R) and the secretion of soluble leptin receptor (SLR),leptin (LEP) in primary pregnancy human chorionic trophoblast cells. Methods Cultured primary human trophoblast cells and added in different concentrations of progesterone (0,100,150 and 200 ng/mL) for 24 hours. The relative expression of ADAM10 and Ob-R in the cells and the content of SLR and LEP in the supernatant were detected. Results With increasing concentrations of progesterone,early human trophoblast cells ADAM10 content gradual-ly decreased,the difference between the two groups was significant (P<0. 05). With increasing concentrations of progesterone,human chori-onic trophoblast cells in early pregnancy Ob-R expression levels increased, the difference was no statistically significant between each two groups (P>0. 05). SLR content of the cell supernatants as the concentration of progesterone increased and decreased,there are significant differences between each two groups (P>0. 05). LEP cell supernatant in each group with the increase of the concentration of progesterone concentration increased gradually between the two groups were significantly different(P>0. 05). Pearson’s test showed that the expression of expression SLR and LEP exists a significant negative correlation (R= -0. 949,P<0. 01). Conclusion Progesterone may influence the ex-pression of ADAM10,SLR and LEP by the regulation of leptin to participate GDM occurs.
5.Effectiveness of temperature and activating instrument on smear layer removal

Objective:To compare the efficacy of six different irrigation techniques on smear layer removal.Methods:60 single-rooted teeth were prepared.The root canals were irrigated with NaOCl at 20 ℃ or 60 ℃,and activated with side-vented needle,pas-sive ultrasonic irrigation (PUI)and EndoActivator (EA)irrigation techniques respectively.Then teeth were randomly divided into 6 groups(n =1 0):20 ℃-PUI group,20 ℃-EA group,20 ℃control group,60 ℃-PUI group,60 ℃-EA group and 60 ℃ control group.Smear layer was observed under thermal field emission scanning electron microscope(FE-SEM)and scored according to the cri-teria specified by Hulsmann M.Results:The smear layer removal effect in 60 ℃ groups was better than that in 20 ℃ groups (P <0.05),and better in 20 ℃-EA and 20 ℃-PUI groups than in 20 ℃ control group(P <0.05).Conclusion:The temperature of NaOCl is the main factor influencing the smear layer removal,NaOCl at 60 ℃ is more effective than that at 20 ℃.

8.Thyroid function changes in children with primary nephrotic syndrome

Objective To explore the thyroid function changes of episodes period and remissions period in children with primary nephrotic syndrome (NS).Methods The urinary protein quantitation and serum albumin,total cholesterol,thyroid hormone level [total triiodothyronine (TT3),total thyroxine (TT4),free triiodothyronine (FT3),free thyroxine (FT4) and thyroid stimulating hormone (TSH)] of episodes period and remissions period in 15 children with primary NS were retrospectively analyzed.Results There were statistical differences in urinary protein quantitation and serum albumin,total cholesterol in children with NS between episodes period and remissions period (P < 0.05).The TT3,TT4,FT3,FT4 in episodes period were significantly lower than those in remissions period [(0.6 ± 0.3) μ g/L vs.(1.3 ± 0.3) μ g/L,(40.0 ± 23.0)μ g/L vs.(68.0 ± 15.0) μ g/L,(1.6 ± 0.3) pmol/L vs.(3.3 ± 0.3) pmol/L,(8.6 ± 2.5) pmol/L vs.(12.2 ± 2.0) pmol/L],TSH was significantly higher than that in remissions period [(5.6 ± 2.1) mU/L vs.(2.5 ± 1.1) mU/L],there were statistical differences (P < 0.05).Conclusions Thyroid function of episodes period in children with primary NS is decreased temporarily,associated with heavy proteinuria leads to thyroid hormone missing from urine.Detecting thyroid function plays an important role in estimating the state and guiding the treatment of primary NS.
