Shanghai Journal of Acupuncture and Moxibustion 2015;(10):972-975
ObjectiveTo seek an effective protocol fortreating spinal cord injury-induced limb dysfunction by comparing the therapeutic effects of electroacupuncture at Huatuo jiaji points plus Du meridian points versus conventional electroacupuncture. MethodForty patients with spinal cord injury-induced limb dysfunction were allocated, using a random number table, to treatment and control groups, 20 cases each. Both groups were treated with ganglioside and routine rehabilitation therapy. In addition, the treatment group received electroacupuncture at Huatuo jiaji points and Du meridian points and the control group, conventional acupuncture. Lower limb function was assessed using ASIA Motor Score, Sensory Score and the MBI in the two groups of patients before treatment and after one and two courses. The clinical therapeutic effects were evaluated.ResultThere was a statistically significant pre-/post-treatment difference in lower limb dysfunction in both treatment and control groups (P<0.05). The improving effect was better in the treatment group than in the control group (P<0.05,P<0.01).ConclusionElectroacupuncture at Huatuo jiaji points and Du meridian points has a definite therapeutic effect on spinal cord injury-induced limb dysfunction. It is superior to conventional electroacupuncture.

Chinese Journal of Orthopaedic Trauma 2009;11(7):625-628
Objective To discuss the functional results of percutaneons compressive screw fixation for float injury to the pubic symphysis. Methods From March 2003 to March 2007, 48 cases of float injury to the pubic symphysis were treated with percutaneons compressive screws, including 27 males and 21 females with an average age of 29.4 years. Of them, 39 eases were complicated with injury to the pelvic posterior ring. Emergency surgery was done for 13 cases, 27 cases were operated on within 3 to 7 days after injury and 8 within 7 to 14 days. Guided pins and screws were used during dosed reduction and percutaneous pelvic fixation was done under the guidance of intraoperative fluoroscopic imaging. Float injury to the pubic symphysis was amended by percutaneous fixation after dosed manipulation. Results The average operation time for the48 patients was 55 (31 to 100) min. The intraoperative bleeding averaged 20 to 30 mL. Satisfactory reduetian and fixation was achieved in 41 cases, but 7 cases had poor reduction. All the fractures healed 3 to 6 months postoperatively without infection, nonunion or injury to vessels, nerves or organs. All the patients could turn the body freely in bed the day after operation. Those without injury to the pelvic posterior ring could walk with crutches 3 days after operation. By the Orlando evaluation system for pelvic fractures, 37 eases were rated as excellent, 7 as good, 3 as fair and I as poor. Conclusions The percutaneous compressive screw fixation may decompress the pelvic hematoma, allowing early definitive fixation without the risk of additional hemorrhage. Complications associated with open posterior pelvic surgical procedures may be avoided by using percutaneons techniques.

Objective To observe the levels of serum hypersensitive C-reaction protein (hs-CRP) and its correlation factors in cerebral infarction patients with impaired glucose tolerance (IGT). Methods According to the result of glucose tolevance test (GTT),the 131 patients were divided into normal glucose tolerance group (NGT, n=41),IGT group (n=47),newly diagnosed type 2 diabetes mellitus (DM) group (n=43). The serum hs-CRP levels and some biochemical parameters were measured in 72 h after the onset. The common carotid artery(CCA) and carotid plaque were examined by color B type ultrasonography. Results The hs-CRP levels were gradually increased among NGT,IGT and DM groups. The average of hs-CRP levels in NGT,IGT and DM groups were 0.320 mg/L,1.435 mg/L,4.305mg/L respectively.By the charge of logaithm, there were significanty differenc among each group(P

Objective: To investigate the effects of fibrin glue(FS) and glutamine(Gln) on the healing of colon anastomoses after immediate postoperative intraperitoneal administration of 5-fluorouracil.Methods: Thirty two female Wistar rats were randomized into four groups. After resection of a 1-cm segment of the transverse colon,an end-end sutured anastomosis was performed. Then the rats were divided into control group,5-FU group,FS group, and Gln group. All rats were killed on the 8th postoperative day and the anastomoses were examined microscopically. The bursting pressure measurements were recorded and anastomoses were graded histologically. Results: The adhesion formation score was significantly higer in the rats of the 5-FU group than in the other groups.Bursting pressures were also significantly lower in the 5-FU group than in the other groups. Conclusion: The immediate postoperative intraperitoneal administration of 5-FU inhibited wound healing. However,FS and Gln can improve early healing of colon anastomoses after immediate postoperative intraperitoneal administration of 5-fluorouracil.
