1.Treatment of 97 Cases of Prolapse of Lumbar Intervertebral Disc by Manipulations of Bone Setting plus Acupuncture

Improved manipulation of oblique-pulling (Ban) and fixed-position rotating pulling were applied to the patient with the prolapse of lumbar intervebral disc for reduction. Then acupuncture therapy, which used Shuigou (GV 26) and Weizhong (BL 40) as the main acupoints, was used. Totally 97 cases were treated, 58 cases were cured, 35 cases were improved, and 4 cases had no effect. The total effective rate was 95.5%.
2.Treatment of 29 Cases of Fasciitis of Back Muscles by Acupuncture plus Movable Cupping

Twenty-nine cases of fasciitis of back muscles were treated by acupuncturing the main acupoints, including Ashi acuponit, Jianjing (GB 21), Tianzhu (BL 10) and Tianzong (SI 11), plus cupping on the painful part of back. After 2 courses of treatment, 26 cases were cured and 3 cases improved.
3.Treatment of 21 Cases of Post-herpetic Neuralgia by Warm Acupuncture

Jiaji (Ex-B 2), Waiguan (TE 5), Taichong (LR 3), Zulinqi (GB 41) and Ashi points were mainly selected. Adjunct acupoints were added according to the affected positions. Neiting (ST 44) was added when the affected position was mainly on the abdomen, Kunlun (BL 60) was added on the back and Xingjian (LR 2) was added on the hypochondriac region. Twenty- one patients with post-herpetic neuralgia were treated. The result showed that pain and skin injury of 16 cases disappeared, skin injury of 4 cases disappeared with obviously alleviated pain and skin injury of 1 case disappeared with slightly alleviated pain.
4.Treatment of 38 Cases of Allergic Rhinitis by Ventilating and Dredging the Nasal Passage

Thirty-eight cases of allergic rhinitis has been treated by puncturing the points of Yintang (Ex-HN 3), Yingxiang (LI 20), Feishu (BL 13), Fengchi (GB 20), Shangxing (GV 23), Hegu (LI 4) and so on, combined with massaging the head, face and trunk. The result showed that cure occurred in 16cases, marked effectiveness in 18 cases and ineffectiveness in 4 cases.
5.Observation on Clinical Therapeutic Effect of Electroacupuncture plus Tuina on 90 Cases of Scapulohumeral Periarthritis

Ninety cases of scapulohumeral periarthritis were treated by electroacupuncture plus Tuina and the effective rate was 94.4%. The effective rate was 81.9% in the control group (treated by Frozen Shoulder Decoction added by other herbal drugs) of 83 cases. The result indicated that the treatments of the two groups were effective, but the therapeutic effect of the treatment group was better than that of the control group. In the treatment group, the cure rate was higher, the duration of treatment was shorter and the sequelae of conglutination and rigidity of the shoulder joint, muscular atrophy and so on were reduced.
6.Treatment of 180 Cases of Adhesive Shoulder Periarthritis by Combined Therapy

One hundred and eighty patients of shoulder periarthritis were treated by combined traction, acupuncture, physiotherapy, Tuina and functional exercise. After 10 treatments, 133 cases were cured, 36 cases got marked effectiveness, 8 cases got effectiveness, 3 cases had no effectiveness and the total effective rate was 98.3%. Combined therapy can relieve adhesion of soft tissues induced by various causes to achieve the purpose of accelerating recovery.
7.Treatment of 130 Cases of Postpartum Retention of Urine by Electroacupuncture

One hundred and thirty patients with postpartum retention of urine were treated by electroacupuncture on bilateral Sanyinjiao (SP 6) and Yinlingquan (SP 9). After 1-5treatments, 130 patients could discharge urine successfully.
8.Clinical Research on Treatment of Hyperkinetic Syndrome of Childhood by Electroacupuncture plus Acupoint Application

Objective To observe the clinical therapeu tic effect of hyperkinetic syndrome of childhood treated by electroacupuncture plus acupoint application. Method Sixty-five cases with hyperkinetic syndrome of childhood were treated by electroacupuncture plus acupoint application (electroacupuncture group); 53 cases were treated by acupuncture (acupuncture group) and 53 cases were treated by Ritalin (west drug group). The above three groups were compared with each other in therapeutic effect. Results The effective rate of treating hyperkinetic syndrome of childhood by electroacupuncture plus acupoint application was 87.7%; the effective rate in west drug group was 86.8% and in acupuncture group was 77.4%. A comparison among the three groups showed there was no significant difference in clinical ther apeutic effect ( P > 0.05 ). Conclusion Electroacupuncture plus acupoint application was an effective therapy of hyperkinetic syndrome of childhood.
9.Observation on Therapeutic Effect of Warm Acupuncture in Treating Patellar Ligament Strain

The needles were inserted in the center of inferior margin and on the left and right sides of patella. Then moxibustion with warming needle and electroacupuncture were used respectively to treat 25 cases of patellar ligament strain. The effective rates were 96.0% and 69.6% respectively.
10.Clinical Observation of 46 Cases of Scapulohumeral Periarthritis Treated by Acupuncture

Forty-six cases of scapulohumeral periarthritis were treated by selecting the acupoints far from the affected part plus acupuncture differentiation of symptoms and signs, in comparison with 34 cases treated by simple acupuncture differentiation of symptoms and signs. The result showed that cure occurred in 21 cases,marked effectiveness in 19 cases, improvement in 3 cases and ineffectiveness in 1 case in the treatment group. In control group, cure occurred in 10 cases, marked effectiveness in 15 cases, improvement in 8 cases and ineffectiveness in 3 cases. There was a significant difference in the therapeutic effect between the two groups (P<0.05).
