Congenital heart disease(CHD) is a series of birth defect that can actually or potentially impact heart function , occurring 4‰~ 12‰ of live birth. Atrioventricular septal defect (AVSD) is a frequently CHD affecting the atrioventricular valves and septa. AVSD refers to a clinical spectrum of defects ranging from a complete AVSD to cleft mitral valve. AVSD occurs most frequently in Trisomy 21 syndrome. Research shows that the development defect of endocardial cushion caused by heredity and environment during different period of heart development leads to all kinds of AVSD. CRELD1 is the first identified gene associated with morbidity of AVSD.The research on this gene has important significance to find out the pathogenesis of AVSD and provide better prevention and cure methods.
3.Molecular Biology and Modernization of Chinese Materia Medica

AIM:To discuss the relationship between molecular biology and modernization of Chinese materia medica(CMM)with the hope that molecular biology may play an important role in promoting modernization of CMM.METHODS:The currentsituation and progress in using the theoy and technique of molecular biology in the research fields of CMM were reviewed. RESULTS:The technique of modern molecular biology, such as, the identification of crude drugs, the culture and production of medicinal plants,the screening of effective components from CMM and the analysis of the mechanisms of the action of CMM, has been applied in the research work of CMM.CONCLUSION: The extensive use of the technique of molecular biology in the research of CMM will greatly promote the modernization of it.The research workers and policy makers in these fields must pay close attention to them.
4.The Management and Reproduction of Mongolian Gerbil

In order to make use of gerbils as a kind of experimental animal in Kunming, the Mongolian Gerbilis were indroduced into laboratory of KMC from Beijing for two years, and performed the management and breeding. This paper summarized the authoris experieuce of mating, breeding. diet regimen, house cleaning, care of the pregnant and newborn. The data of body weight measured in relation to the age were also presented.

Objective]To summarize the clinical experience of Zhang Yu-zhu to treat Bi-Syndrome. [Methods] Summarized the academic view and clinical experience of Zhang yu-zhu to treat Bi-syndrome,including etiology and pathogenesis,therapeutic principle and the formulas of Zhang Yu-zhu. Summarize the compatibility and modified formulas,and proven cases attached. [Result] The cause of Bi-syndrome was divided into two types: one was external pathogen,which was caused by wind,cold and wet. The other was internal pathogen,including spleen and kidney deficiency,the unbalance of Ying qi and Wei qi and insecurity of the interstices. When diagnosing and treating Bi-syndrome ,he emphasized combining Chinese and western medicine and syndrome differentiation. [Conclusion]Zhang Yu-zhu's treatment of Bi-syndrome has evident effect.
9.Neuroprotective mechanism of erythropoietin on neonatal brain injury

Brain injury is a significant cause leading to death of neonates with a considerable variety of complications.Up to now researches have found the neuroprotective actions of erythropoietin (EPO) originally identified as erythropoiesis on neonatal brain injury.EPO has been reported to induce a broad effect in the brain directed to protect and repair neurons damage which are likely to contribute to the improvement in long-term neurological functional outcomes.EPO may provide a new approach for promoting survival and growth in nerve cells and hold great promise for the future treatments of neonatal brain injury.EPO and EPO receptor distribute in defferent parts of brain in fetus and newborns.A fundamental mechanism of EPO-induced neuroprotection is its ability to inhibit apoptosis that EPO and EPO receptor have been shown to modulate three cellular signal transduction pathways.The other neuroprotection mechanisms of EPO-induced include anti-infammatory,neurotrophy,anti-oxidation,angiogenesis,promoting neurogenesis and anti-epilepsy.
10.Expression of complement regulatory proteins C_1-INH and CD46 in nasal mucosa of allergic rhinitis rats

Objective:To determine the expression of complement regulatory proteins(CRPs) C_1-INH,MCP(CD46) in the nasal mucosa of allergic rhinitis rats and to study the role of CRPs in the pathogenesis of allergic rhinitis.Methods: Nine healthy SD rats were sensitized and intranasally challenged with ovalbumin and Al(OH)_3(as supplement) to establish allergic rhinitis models and another 9 SD rats treated with saline were taken as control.The nasal mucosa in respiratory area of both groups was obtained.Then Western blotting was performed to investigate the expression levels of C_1-INH and CD46.Results: Western blotting showed that both C_1-INH and CD46 had been detected in rat nasal mucosa.Expression level of CD46 in the nasal mucosa of allergic rhinitis was significantly higher than that in control rats(P
