N)compared with B/HongKong/330/2001.Conclusions H1,H3 and B virus were circulated in Hebei from 2005 to 2006.Recent viruses were changing in genetic characteristics,while influenza B viruses varied more obviously.

Objective To understand the genetic characterization of HA1 gene of influenza A H3N2 viruses circulated in recent years in Hebei.Methods Viral RNAs of 25 H3N2 strains were extracted and amplified by Reverse Transcription Polymerase Chain Reaction (RT-PCR).The products of PCR were purified and sequenced,and the sequences were analyzed though biometic software.Results Several amino acid substitutions located in antigenic sites or receptor binding sites were found more in the isolates than the current vaccine virus or the isolates from previous year.Amino acid substitution was found in 3,140,142,144,145,158,159,189,192,193,198,204,225,226 and 227 positions in the isolates during 2003-2008,more amino acid substitutions took place in antigenic determinant A,B and receptor binding site (RBS).New phylogenetic branches appeared continuously during 2003-2008.The H3N2 strains of the same year almost clustered in the same group on the phylogenetic tree.Conclusions Amino acid substitutions continuously occurred in the HA1 genes in influenza A H3N2 viruses isolated in Hebei from 2003 to 2008,it is meaningful to pay close attention to the HA1 variation in order to prevent and control influenza.

A new sonographic pattern of fetal hydrocephalus-midline-waved sign, and its mechanism were reported in this paper. When the abdominal wall of the pregnant woman was percussed by hand during ultrasound examination, the wave of midline echo was observed on sonoimage. The diagnosis of hydro-cephalus was made by this sign in all 12 fetuses, and confirmed by autopsy. No dilatation of the cerebral ventricle was observed in 5 out of 12 fetuses. It would be difficult to make the diagnosis of hy-drocephalus would previous diagnostic criteria be used. This sign is negative in normal fetuses, therefore-this finding has the practical value in the early and differential diagnoses of hydrocephalus.

Objective To investigate the viral etiology and the epidemilogy of acute upper respiratory tract infection in Hebei Province from 2013 to 2015,providing scientific basis for diagnosis,prevention and control of the respiratory tract infection.Methods l 551 throat swab samples of the acute upper respiratory infection patients from four hospitals in Hebei Province were collected,Multiplex real-time PCR was used to detect 15 kinds of respiratory tract viruses for all specimens after nucleic acids extraction.Results Totally 714 positive samples were obtained from 1 551 samples,with a positive rate of 46.03％.Human rhinovirus(186,11.99％)was detected as the most common viral species,followed by human parainfluenza 3(167,10.77％),respiratory syncytial virus (122,7.87％),adenovirus (108,6.96％),influenza B virus (56,3.61％),human metapneumovirus(40,2.58％),influenza A virus(39,2.51％),human boca virus (38,2.45％),human parainfluenza 1 (35,2.26％),human coronavirus-229E/NL63 (33,2.13％),human enterovirus (32,2.06％),human parainfluenza 4(31,2.00％),human coronavirus-OC43 (30,1.93％),and human parainfluenza 2(11,0.71％).176 cases (11.35％) were detected as co-infection.The infection rate(56.07％) of under 5 years old group was higher than that of other groups.Conclusions The predominant respiratory viruses,who are responsible for acute upper respiratory tract infections in Hebei Province,are HRV,PIV3,RSV,ADV and IFV.Each virus possess the specific epidemiological feature.

We investigated the effects of IFN-γ on Chlamydia psittaci (Cps) infection.HeLa cells were treated with different concentrations of recombinant human IFN-γ (5 ng/mL,25 ng/mL,50 ng/mL) after infecting with C.psittaci 6BC,then the number and morphology of C.psittaci inclusion bodies were examined after 48 hours.C57BL/6J mice were intranasally infected with 2 × 106 IFUs C.psittaci 6BC,and intraperitoneally administrated with 10 μg recombinant murine interferon-γ 24 hours prior or post infection,then body weight,activity and survival rate were recorded.The histopathology of mice livers and lungs was analyzed by HE staining on day 5 or day10 post infection.And the chlamydial inclusion bodies were titrated in the lung homogenates of mice sacrificed on day 5 after infection.The inclusion body numbers of recombinant human IFN-γ treated groups (by 5ng/mL,25ng/mL,50ng/mL) were significantly less than that in the control group (23.8±5.1)× 106,(10± 3.58) × 106,(8.0±2.22) × 106,(43.3±11.05)× 106,respectively).And the morphology of inclusion bodies in IFN-γ treated HeLa cells was irregular and much smaller.We also found that IFN-γ could significantly improve the survival rate,reduce acute clinical manifestations and pathological injurery of lung and liver in C.psittaci respiratory tract infected mice model.So we summarized that IFN-γ can mediate strong immunological protection during acute C.psittaci early infection.

Smu. 260 encodes a putative protein of 200 residues in Streptococcus mutans, a primary pathogen for human dental caries. Smu. 260 was cloned into expression vector pET28a and expressed in good amount trom the E. coli strain BL21 (DE3). Smu.260 protein was purified to homogeneity in a two-step procedure of Ni2+ chelating and size exclusion chromatography. The purified protein exists in two forms, a dimer form about 46 ku with yellow color and a tetramer form without apparent color. Crystals were obtained from the dimer protein by hanging-drop vapor-diffusion method. The crystals diffracted to about 2.3 A resolution and belong to orthorhombic space group P212121 with cell dimensions of a = 89.88A, b = 90.91 A, c = 105.17 A. The asymmetric unit is expected to contain two dimers with solvent content of 53%.

OBJECTIVETo investigate the therapeutic effect of heating and bandage treatment for chronic lymphedema of extremities accompanied with erysipelas.

METHODSFrom March 2004 to March 2013, 80 patients with chronic lymphedema of extremities accompanied with erysipelas were analyzed retrospectively. The patients underwent heating treatment (42 degree centigrade) with infrared light machine made by Shanghai Ninth People's Hospital, 2 hours a day, 20 hours for a session. Bandage treatment was adopted after heating treatment. 1 or 2 sessions were performed for each patient every year. The erysipelas occurring frequency, patients subjective feeling, treatment sessions and elastic material usage was recorded during the follow-up period. The erysipelas occurring frequency was tested by the method of rank and inspection. SPSS 17. 0 was used for statistical analysis.

RESULTSAfter heating and bandage treatment, the occurrence frequency of erysipelas was obviously controlled (Z = 7.598, P = 0.000). Erysipelas was not occurred any more in 60 (75%)patients. Remarkable reduction of occurrence frequency of erysipelas caused by various reasons was showed after treatment. Primary and secondary lymphedema after treatment were compared with those before treatment respectively, showing statistical difference (Z = 3.417 and 5.009, P = 0.001 and 0.000). Most of patients felt better subjectively. The relapse rate of erysipelas and lymphedema was lower if keeping using elastic material to give more pressure on extremities after therapy.

CONLUSIONSHeating and bandage treatment can obviously reduce the occurrence frequency of erysipelas. It can improve the quality of patients' lives. Simultaneously, the subsequent elastic material pressure therapy is essential.

The protein was crystallized using hanging drop vapour-diffusion method and diffracted to a resolution of 3.1 (A). The diffraction data were collected at BSRF beamline3W1A. The crystals belong to P213 space group, with unit cell parameters a = b = c = 113.2(A), α =β = γ = 90°. Assuming there are two subunits per asymmetric unit, the Matthews coefficient is 3.6 (A)3 ·Da-1. This is the first crystallization report of the wild-type deoxycytidylate deaminase.

Objective To explore the efficacy of electroacupuncture and massage combined with Yaobi-Zhuyu-Zhitong decoction in the treatment of lumbar disc herniation (LDH). Methods A total of 100 LDH patients with qi stagnation and blood stasis type who met the inclusion criteria were randomly divided into two groups, 50 in each group. The control group was treated with Yaobi-Zhuyu-Zhitong decoction, and the observation group was treated with electroacupuncture and massage on the basis of the control group. Both groups were treated for 4 weeks. The VAS scale was used to evaluate the degree of pain. The Japanese Orthopedic Association Scores (JOA) was used to evaluate the efficacy of low back pain. The Oswestry dysfunction index was used to evaluate the recovery of lumbar function, and the improvement of daily activities of patients after treatment was evaluated.Results After treatment, the VAS score of the observation group was significantly lower than that of the control group, and the JOA score was significantly higher than that of the control group (t value were 9.870, 8.214, P<0.01). The excellent and good rates of Oswestry dysfunction index before and after treatment in the observation group were 34.0％ (17/50) and 86.0％ (43/50), respectively, and the control group was 24.0％ (12/50) and 44.0％(22/50), respectively. The excellent rate of Oswestry dysfunction index in the two groups was significantly higher than that in the same group before treatment (χ2 values were 28.167, 4.456, P<0.01), and the observation group was significantly higher than the control group (χ2=19.385, P<0.001). The scores of daily activities such as walking, weight-bearing, sitting for a long time, bending over, washing, standing, sleeping and turning over in the observation group were significantly higher than those in the control group (t values were 3.689, 1.661, 3.621, 3.621, 3.300, 1.661, 1.461 respectively, all Ps<0.05). The total effective rate was 94.0％ (47/50) and the control group was 76.0％ (38/50). The difference between the two groups was statistically significant (χ2=6.353, P=0.012). Conclusions Electroacupuncture and massage combined with Yaobi-Zhuyu-Zhitong decoction can improve the lumbar function, reduce the degree of lumbar pain, improve the quality of life of the LDH patients with qi stagnation and blood stasis type.
