1.An analysis for factors related to health education by community nurses in Guangzhou
Chinese Journal of General Practitioners 2005;0(12):-
Objective To investigate related factors influencing the conduct of health education by community nurses in Guangzhou and to explore the measures to improve their level of awareness and training in relevant knowledge and capabilities for them. Methods A questionnaire survey on the understanding of concepts and contents, as well as relevant skills, of community health education was conducted in 1 702 community nurses of Guangzhou. Results About 73.0 per cent (1 243/1 702) of the community nurses did not completely understand concepts of community health education, including 28.3 per cent (481/ 1 702) knowing nothing and 84.2 per cent (1 433/1 702) with incomplete awareness. Knowledge they have known included, from good to fair awareness, juvenile physiologic and psychological health, self-check-up skills, community first-aid skills, community and home skills of sterilization, disinfection and isolation. About 71.9 per cent (1 233/1 702) of them have known some of the skills, including, from good to fair awareness, geriatric nursing and hospice care, community rehabilitation, dietary therapy and family drug use, maternal and child health care, nursing care for patients with chronic diseases. Only 7.2 per cent (123/1 702) of them were involved in health education activity. Conclusions Training in relevant knowledge and skills of health education for community nurses is essential to improve their consciousness, change their ideas and grasp more popular scientific knowledge and adequate skills.

Objective To survey the working situation of community nurses and care needs of the residents in a prefecture-level city.Method One hundred and thirty-five community nurses and 338 residents were selected and investigated by self-designed questionnaire. Results Community nurses still focused on the area of nursing and treatment rather than prevention, rehabilitation, health care, health education and family planning, which need to be paid more attention to.The needs of residents on community nursing service shift from disease treatment to disease prevention and health promotion. The current community nursing service cannot satisfy residents’care needs. Conclusion Community nurses should provide demand-oriented community care to the residents, strengthen the concept of disease prevention and health promotion, and set up community health centers to be a blend of prevention, health care, rehabilitation, health education and family planning as soon as possible.

Objective To study the effect of personalized enteral nutrition support in patients with laryngeal carcinoma after operation .Methods From June 2010 to April 2013 , 62 cases of laryngeal cancer patients received individualized enteral nutrition support as A group , and others 42 cases of laryngeal carcinoma after operation received commodity nutrition from January 2008 to May 2010 as B group. Then, nutrition index such as weight, prealbumin, albumin, total protein and so on, and complications, average hospitalization days, nutrition related costs , and time of wound stitches out between the two groups were detected and recorded respectively before operation , 7 th day and 14 th day after operation .Results Nutritional indexes in A group were significantly improved than those in B group , as well as the average hospitalization days , nutrition related costs , stitches out of the wound time between A group and B group , and the difference was statistically significant ( t=-12.900,-36.011,-13.762,respectively;P<0.05).Conclusions Personalized enteral nutrition support is one of the important means to promote the rehabilitation of postoperative patients with laryngeal carcinoma of nasal feeding homogenate , and self-made enteral nutrition is safe and effective , economic and simple , fewer complications , more in line with human physiological needs , and it is worthy of clinical application .

In recent decades, event-related potentials have been used for the clinical electrophysiological assessment of patients with disorders of consciousness (DOCs). In this paper, an oddball paradigm with two types of frequency-deviant stimulus (standard stimuli were pure tones of 1000 Hz; small deviant stimuli were pure tones of 1050 Hz; large deviant stimuli were pure tones of 1200 Hz) was applied to elicit mismatch negativity (MMN) in 30 patients with DOCs diagnosed using the JFK Coma Recovery Scale-Revised (CRS-R). The results showed that the peak amplitudes of MMN elicited by both large and small deviant stimuli were significantly different from baseline. In terms of the spatial properties of MMN, a significant interaction effect between conditions (small and large deviant stimuli) and electrode nodes was centered at the frontocentral area. Furthermore, correlation coefficients were calculated between MMN amplitudes and CRS-R scores for each electrode among all participants to generate topographic maps. Meanwhile, a significant negative correlation between the MMN amplitudes elicited by large deviant stimuli and the CRS-R scores was also found at the frontocentral area. In consequence, our results combine the above spatial properties of MMN in patients with DOCs, and provide a more precise location (frontocentral area) at which to evaluate the correlation between clinical electrophysiological assessment and the level of consciousness.
