Chinese Journal of Neurology 2005;0(11):-
Objective To investigate the effect of cytochrome P_ 450 2A6 (CYP2A6) genetic polymorphisms on serum concentration of sodium valproate. Methods A total of 98 epileptic patients receiving sodium valproate after a period of more than 5 half-time were recruited. The genotypes of CYP2A6 of the patients were detected by nested-primer polymerase chain reaction (PCR) to examine the alleles CYP2A6*1 and CYP2A6*4. Fluorescence polarization immunoassay (FPIA) was used to measure the serum concentration of sodium valproate. Results Of the 98 cases, 73 (74.5%) were wild genotypes, 24 (24.5%) were CYP2A6*1/*4 genotypes and 1(1.0%) was CYP2A6*4/*4 genotype. According to the genotypes of CYP2A6 the patients were divided into two groups, one was group A (CYP2A6*1/*1) and the other was group B (CYP2A6*1/*4 or *4/*4). The mean value of the serum concentration of sodium valproate of the patients in group A(4.1393?0.2793) was higher than that in group B(3.3486?0.3919) with a statistical significance (P

Objective To understand the soil heavy metal pollution along Diaojiang river and to search the way of using the polluted land in safety. Methods Twelve sampling sites were selected along the river sides, the soil, rice and corn samples were collected and the content of heavy metals was determined. Results The investigation revealed that the main pollutants in the soils were As, Pb, Cd, Zn, etc., the polluted area was coincided with the flooded area and the content of Cd, Pb in the rice and Pb, Cd and Zn in the corn planted in the polluted area was over the limits of national food hygiene standards. Conclusion This paper suggests food crops should be forbidden and mulberry be planted in the polluted area. The severely polluted area where the deposits of mine tailings are obvious should be changed to tailing ponds and the plant restoration and reconstruction should be conducted in these areas.

Acta Nutrimenta Sinica 1956;0(03):-
The present investigation was undertaken to evaluate the role of the Chinese fruit juice in blocking nitrosamine formation in vitro.A model system simulated the conditions (pH 3.3, 37℃) known, to exist in the stomach, was used in the experiments. Different amount of nitrite and aminopyrine was incubated with Chinese fruit juice or vitamin C solution or buffer solution for 1 hr. 0.1 ml samples were taken and then subjected to the Ames mutagenicity test. The tester strain TA100 of Salmonella typhi-murium was employed for the detection of mutagenicity due to the N-nitro-samine formed from sodium nitrite and aminopyrine. Test samples and bacteria with or without S-9 mixed with molten top agar and poured onto the minimal agar plates. After incubation, the sample, that gave at least a 2-fold increase in induced revertants, compared to spontaneous revertants, was considered to have mutagenic activity. It showed that the concentration of the precursors was at or above 5 mg/ ml with S-9 and without juice. the samples exhibited mutagenic activity. It suggested that the nitrosamine was formed in this system. While the incorporation of Chinese fruit juice was found to inhibit the formation of nitrosamine at 5mg/ml and 8mg/ml. The cultures did not show mutagenic activity. The induced revertant colonies per plate was 252 ? 4.2. The Chin esefruit juice is more effective than that of vitamin C, the induced revertant colonies per plate was 445 ? 81.2, which shows mutagenic. The difference between the cultures of Chinese fruit juice and vitamin C is significant (P

Journal of Third Military Medical University 2003;0(14):-
Objective To evaluate the clinical feasibility and safety of percutaneous transluminal coronary thrombolysis in acute myocardial infarction. Methods Consecutive patients( n =25) with evidence of AMI and thrombolysis in myocardial infarction(TIMI) grade 0 or 1 in the infarction related arteries(IRA) underwent coronary ultrasound thrombolysis. Degree of residual stenosis was measured and analyzed with SHIMADZU Digitex, a 2400 computerized analyzing system. Changes in imaging and blood flow in IRA, CK MB before and after the treatment, ST segment in ECG and clinical manifestations were observed to evaluate the feasibility of using angioplasty with ultrasound to treat AMI. Results It was found that IRA achieved grade Ⅲ of TIMI blood flow in 23 out of the 25 patients with AMI (potency recovering rate=92%) and the residual stenosis was 41.39?14.08%. Within 10 minutes after the treatment, disappearance of chest pain, depression of ST segment more than or equal to 50% and obvious migrating forward of CK MB peak value were found in the 23 patients. There were no adverse clinical events during the procedure and hospitalization. Conclusion Angioplasty with high intensity, low frequency ultrasound can be used as a new approach for treating acute myocardial infarction, opening IRA as early as possible and restoring TIMI blood flow grade Ⅲ.

Objective To evaluate the clinical feasibility of disruption of intracoronary plaques using catheter-delivered ultrasound. Methods Ultrasound was introduced via catheterization to treat patients (n=18) with serious stenosis of the coronary artery. Comparison of stenosis degree and ST segment in routine ECG before and after the treatment was conducted. Pre- and post-treatment exercise tests were performed to measure the time needed for induction of angina, the time needed for induction of decrease in ST segment for 0.1 mV and maximal range of decrease in ST segment. Results Ultrasound was found to have dissolved atherosclerotic plaques in 18 cases of coronary heart disease with stenosis in one blood vessel ≥75%. The residual stenosis was (40.11?15.33)% after the treatment, representing a decrease of 44.58% as compared with that before the treatment [(84.69?4.69)%], P
