Sequence and phylogenetic analyses of the N, P, M, F, G and L open-reading frames of a Nipah virus
isolated from a Pteropus vampyrus illustrated the uniqueness of the genetic signature of this virus
compared to all the other Malaysian isolates of Nipah virus from pigs, bat (Pteropus hypomelanus) and
humans, as well as the Nipah virus isolated from Pteropus lylei in Cambodia, and that from human in
Bangladesh. The Nipah virus of P. vampyrus is more closely related to the Nipah virus isolate from
P. lylei, Cambodia than to Nipah virus human isolate of Bangladesh.
2.Effects of the Mixture of Vitamin C, Vitamin E, Pycnogenol and Evening Primrose Oil on the UV-Induced Pigmentation and Wrinkle Reductions in Human Skin.

In this study, the effects of a mixture consisting of vitamin E, vitamin C, pycnogenol and evening primrose oil (mixture LGNC-5) on ultraviolet light (UV) induced pigmentation and wrinkle reductions of normal healthy volunteers were studied. In a double-blind placebo-controlled study, each of 54 subjects took daily either 4 capsules of the mixture LGNC-5 (Group ABC; 282.5 mg/capsule) or placebo (Group Ganada). We irradiated 2.5 MED UV on the upper arms and measured the whitening effect by colorimeter-based L value. The level of wrinkle reduction was determined by image analysis using skin replica around the crow' feet, and the level of serum vitamin E was determined at baseline and 12 weeks. After 12-week oral administration, the treated group showed a significant reduction in skin pigmentation and wrinkles compared with the placebo group (p = 0.011 and p = 0.000005 , respectively). Also, the level of serum vitamin E was significantly increased in the treated group after 12-week oral adminstration of the mixture compared with that in the placebo group (p = 0.0001). In conclusion, 12-week oral administration of LGNC-5 as a dietary supplement could be effective to reduce both UV induced pigmentation and skin wrinkle without side effects.

Objective To evaluate the survival and prognostic factors of esophageal cancer treated with definitive ( chemo ) radiotherapy by applying novel radiation techniques including three-dimensional conformal radiotherapy (3DCRT) or intensity-modulated radiotherapy (IMRT). Methods Clinical data of 2762 patients with non-operated esophageal squamous cell carcinoma who underwent definitive ( chemo ) radiotherapy from 2002 to 2016 in 10 hospitals were retrospectively analyzed.The prognostic factors were also identified and analyzed. Results The median follow-up time was 60. 8 months. The 1-, 2-, 3-and 5-year overall survival (OS) of all patients was 71. 4%,48. 9%,39. 3%,and 30. 9%,respectively.The 1-,2-,3-and 5-year progression-free survival (PFS) was 59.5%,41.5%,35.2%,and 30%,respectively.The median survival was 23 months.The median time to progression was 17. 2 months.Multivariate analysis demonstrated that age, primary tumor location, clinical stage, tumor target volume, EQD2 and treatment mode were the independent prognostic factors for OS.Primary tumor location,clinical stage,tumor target volume and EQD2 were the independent prognostic factors for PFS. Conclusions In this first large-scale multi-center retrospective analysis of definitive ( chemo) radiotherapy for esophageal squamous cell carcinoma in China, the 5-year OS of patients with esophageal squamous cell carcinoma is significantly improved by 3DCRT, IMRT combined with chemotherapy drugs. However, the findings remain to be validated by prospective clinical trials with high-level medical evidence.
