Primitive neuroectodermal tumor (PNET) is a kind of malignant tumor, which most often affects children and adolescents. The incidence of PNET has risen recently. PNET has low early diagnosis rate and poor treatment effect. With the application of RT-PCR and FISH in pathological diagnosis, and MRI and PET-CT in imageological diagnosis, as well as the implementation of target treatment and multidisciplinary integrated treatment concept in the treatment, the pathogenesis, diagnosis technology and treatment means of of PNET have made remarkable progress.

5.Ultrasound diagnosis of postoperative foreign body (gauze)

The Viet Duc Hospital found 6 cases of the postoperative left gauze by ultrasound during 1997-1998. The diagnosis based on the clinical symptoms (infectious sign), operative history, position and size of foreign body. The foreign bodies found earliest in the 20th days and longest in the 4th years after an operation. The form, size and structure of the foreign bodies have not been changed through the round of examination.

6.Determination of Palmatine Hydrochioride in Fuke Qianjin Tablets by HPLC

Objective To establish a HPLC method for determining of the content of palmatine hydrochloride in Fuke Qianjin Tablets. Methods HPLC was performed on Shimadzu-C18 column. The mobile phase consisted of 0.05 mol·L-1 sodium acid phosphate (pH=3, adjusted by phosphoric acid)-acetonitrile (72 : 28). The detection wavelength was at 265 nm. Results The linear correlation was in the range of 0. 051 μg~0. 255 μg(r=0. 999 9). The average recovery was 100. 04 %, and RSD=1.03 % (n=5). Conclusion The method is accurate and specific.
7.Treatment of 26 cases of Postoperative Gastric Fistula with Self-made Compound Wubei Powder and Gelatin Sponge Plugging

Objective To investigate the treatment of postoperative gastric fistula with combined traditional Chinese and western medicine.Methods Altogether 56 cases ofgastric fistula after gastrectomy were randomly divided into a treatment group and a control group.The control group was simply treated with conventional western medicine therapy,while treatment group was treated with self-made compound Wubei powder scattered with gelatin sponge plugging in addition to conventional western medicine treatment.Results The effective rate of the treatment group and the control group was 96.4% and 64.8% respectively.The effective rate of the treatment group was significant better than the control group (p<0.01).Conclusion The combined traditional Chinese and western medicine therapy can promote healing of the fistula,reduce pain during the process of surgery shorten the duration of hospitalization,and decrease the cost of treatment.

A first derivative spectral method was established for the determination of alkaloids in preparations of A.carmichaeli,A. kusnezoffii, and Fuzi (A. carmichaeli ). This method showed no significant difference as compared with the method used in Chinese Pharmacopoeia at 95% confidence level. The method is simple and sensitive.
9.Purification and Properties of the a-amylase from a Bacillus sp.WS-3L

An extracellular?-amylase(AmyL)from a Bacillus sp WS-3L was purified 345 fold and had a recovery of 15.5%.The amylase was capable of hydrolyzing starch to yield a series of maltooligosaccharides. It was optimally active at 45℃and pH values around 6.5 and showed stability at the temperature below 40℃and pH 7.0-8.0.The amylase was inhibited by Cu~(2+)、NH_4~+、Ag~+、Hg~+ and EDTA、SDS.Michaelist constants(K_m)of the AmyL for were 2.81 mg/mL、8.37 mg/mL、1.80 mg/mL, and maximum velocity(V_(max))of the enzyme for soluble starch,amylose,amylopectin were 11.67?tmol/(min.mL)、10.00?mol/(min?mL)、13.33?mol/(min.mL)respectively.It was suggested that amylopectin is the better hydrolysis substrate for the enzyme.It was observed that the adsorption and digestion of the enzyme on different raw starches was remarkably different.Raw corn starch exhibited high adsorption of the enzyme.It was suggested that the highly stable enzyme was able to be obtained and applied very fast by corn starch chromatography.
10.Low molecular weight heparin (LMWH) protect vascular endothelial cells in hypoxia-reoxygenation condition

Objective:To investigate whether LMWH can protect the function of umbilical cells in hypoxia and hypoxia-reoxygenation conditions.Methods:Human umbilical vein endothelial cells,—ECV304,were planted into 6-well dishes,then cultivated respectively in three conditions:normal,hypoxia and hypoxia-reoxygenation conditions.Cells were grown for 1 hour in hypoxia condition;reoxygenated for 6 or 24 hours after 1 hour hypoxia,respectively.Cells in hypoxia and hypoxia-reoxygenation conditions were divided into two subgroups:LMWH group (5IU/ml) and control group.At each end of incubation time the medium was removed from each well.NO and MDA were measured by chromatometry.ET were measured by radioimmunoassay.Results:There was a decrease in the biosythesis and release of NO,while an increase of MDA and ET in hypoxia and hypoxia-reoxygenation conditions.The effect in hypoxia-reoxygenation condition was more remarkable than in hypoxia condition.But in both conditions LMWH could inhibit the productions of MDA and ET,increase the productions of NO.Conclusion:In hypoxia and hypoxia-reoxygenation conditions,LMWH can inhibit the production of MDA,and protect endothelial cells from oxygen free radicals.
