1.TAURINE AND BRAIN DEVELOPMENT
Acta Nutrimenta Sinica 1956;0(04):-
Weanling rats were divided randomly into two groups: taurine (0.6%) Supplemented group (ST) and taurine-free group (TF) . The water maze was used to measure the effect of the taurine on the ability of learning and remembrance of the rats. Cell culture method was used to investigate the effect of taurine and zinc on fibrocellular proliferation. The results indicated that the ability of learning and remembrance of ST rats were significantly higher than that of the TF rats. The rats of ST group had significantly higher weight of whole brain, cerebral and cerebellum, cerebral zinc, copper, iron and free animo acids than those of the TF. The results of cell culture tests showed that fibroblast could grow very well in 10% calf serum medium even taurine was not added to the medium. However, they would not grow as well as when low level taurine was added. The response was a dose-dependent manner, reaching the maximum at 800?M. But cells viability decreases to 80% of the controls at 51mM taurine. Nevertheless, if a combination of tau-rine and zinc was added, there was a striking inhibitive effect on cell proliferation and showed dose-dependent manner. These results suggest that taur-ine-Zn/taurine might act as a regulator in human cell proliferation. From the above results, it is suggested that taurine may play an important role in brain development.
2.The effects of different ultrasonic retroprep tips on the root-end preparation in cadavers
Journal of Practical Stomatology 2015;(2):241-244
Objective:To evaluate the effects of different ultrasonic retroprep tips on the root-end preparation in cadavers.Methods:34 anterior teeth in situ in maxillary and mandibular jaws in cadavers were chosen and the root-end of 3 mm of all teeth was exposed. Root canal was prepared and filled with gutta-purcha in all teeth,3 mm of the root end was cut off.The teeth were divided into 2 treat-ment groups(n=1 5),and 1 control group(n=4).The root-end preparation was made using ultrasonic diamond tip and stainless steel tip respectively to 3 mm depth. The teeth in control group were not treated.Microcracks, marginal integrity and gutta-percha clearance were observated under SEM.Results:Diamond ultrasonic tips provoked a smaller number of cracks(P=0.059)and destroy of margin-al integrity(P=0.269)than stainless steel tips.Less gutta-percha clearance was produced by stainless steel tip than that by diamond ultrasonic tip(P=0.006).Conclusion:Diamond ultrasonic tip is more suitable for root-end preparation.
3.Research progress on application of radiomics in radiotherapy of head and neck cancer
Chinese Journal of Radiation Oncology 2021;30(1):98-101
Head and neck cancer presents with complex anatomy and high intratumoralheterogeneity. Radiotherapy is one of the main treatments. The therapeutic strategy and prognostic evaluation in head and neck cancer patients traditionally depend on TNM stage, lacking of individual information. Radiomics can extracts high-throughput image features relevant to the biology of tumors, which provides a non-invasive and quantitative method to evaluate the overall tumor heterogeneity and also offers a novel perspective for precision radiotherapy. The research progresses on the application and chanllenges of radiomics in the radiotherapy for head and neck cancer were summarized in this review.

【Objective】 To establish an effective regimen for the treatment of myasthenia gravis crisis (MGC). 【Methods】 Twenty-six cases of MGC were enrolled into the study. They were given spleen-invigorating and musclestrengthening Qiangji Jianli decoction, which were self-prescribed, by oral administration or nasal feeding, as well as Lihengquan nutrient diet, intravenous drip of Huangqi injection and traditional Chinese nursing. The cases were also treated with western medicine such as half-dose steroid hormone, anticholinergic and antibiotics. The therapeutic effect was compared with that reported in currently published literature. 【Results】 Twenty-six cases were all clinically cured. The results of over-one-year follow-up showed that 4 cases were dead and the rest still survived. 【Conclusion】 The regimen of traditional Chinese medicine integrated with western medicine is economic and effective in the treatment of MGC.

Objective To explore the CT findings, the clinicopathological features of giant lymph node hyperlasia and its combined paraneoplastic pemphigus. Methods The clinical features, the imaging and the follow-up data of 19 patients surgically confirmed as giant lymph node hyperlasia were analyzed. Results Clinically, the majority of patients not accompanied with paraneoplastic pemphigus abnormal pulmonary, showed asymptomatic, and only a very small number had lower abdominal discomfort or pain. The patients associated with paraneoplastic pemphigus and abnormal pulmonary manifested the special clinical manifestations, CT finding, pathological characteristics. Histopathologically, the hyaline-vascular type was found in 18 cases and mixed type in 1 case. CT scanning showed that the lesions in 18 patients appeared as larger(2.5-15 cm in diameter), solitary, cylindrical soft-tissue masses with marked enhancement. One case was presented as multiple enlarge lymph node at left neck (1.5-5 cm in diameter). Seventeen of 19 cases were smooth at the edge, and ten cases were uniform in density. The calcification was characterized of an arborizing and (or) flocculent pattern and central location in 7 cases, of which, 1 case circumferential distribution and 5 cases scattered with multiple spots or strip. Shapes were cylindrical and spherical or elliptical. All patients with giant lymph node hyperlasia showed marked enhancement after contrast administration at arterial phase and delay scan. Conclusion CT scanning is an effective method in diagnosis, guiding surgery and evaluating prognosis of giant lymph node hyperlasia, especially dynamic contrast-enhanced and delayed CT scanning. It is the critical way for patients complicated with paraneoplastic pemphigus and abnormal pulmonary cases, to diagnose early and resect tumor-like lesions in vivo.

Journal of Environment and Health 1992;0(05):-
Objective To evaluate the influence of gaseous combustion products of the natural gas (NG), liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) and coal on the indoor air quality. Methods The three kinds of domestic fuels were burned in the designed experimental rooms and the concentrations of SO2, NO2, CO and formaldehyde in the indoor air were determined according to the standard methods at the same time, the emission characteristics of SO2, NO2, CO in these fuels were analyzed also. Results The emission level of CO was the highest in the four combustion products of all three fuels. According to the average daily usage in general families in China, the emission of CO in the coal combustion was much higher than that in combustion of NG and LPG. The unit emission of CO of the coal for house use could reach 30 136 mg/kg, much higher than LPG(8 725 mg/kg)and NG(2 755 mg/kg). The unit emissions of NO2 of LPG combustion (42.69 mg/kg) was higher than the coal and NG (20.01 mg/kg, 11.87 mg/kg), so in the unventilated rooms it could still make the indoor air quality exceed Chinese indoor air quality standard limits. Conclusion Burn of NG or LPG in the kitchen could also cause indoor air pollution.

Medical Journal of Chinese People's Liberation Army 1981;0(06):-
Objective To evaluate the effects of different doses of propofol infusion on real-time monitoring of recurrent laryngeal nerve. Method 30 ASA Ⅰ-Ⅱ patients who underwent thyroid gland surgery were given propofol intravenously in different concentrations. BP, HR and real-time monitoring of recurrent laryngeal nerve were recorded with the propofol dosage varying from 3 to 6, 9, 12, 15, 18?g/(kg?min). Results The amplitude of recurrent laryngeal nerve reflex had no change with different doses of propofol infusion. The HR and BP were elevated with low doses of propofol infusion, but there were no changes when propofol concentration was 15 or 18?g/(kg?min). Conclusion Propofol infusion i.v. does not interfere with real-time intraoperative monitoring of recurrent laryngeal nerve, and it does not inhibit the action potential of recurrent laryngeal nerve, but can effectively decrease the cardiovescular reaction.
