Objective To introduce the wavelet zero -cross stimulation algorithm and based on which to design and implement the cochlear implants. Methods Through DSP and ICETEK-VC5416, the WZS speech coding strategy was simulated, and also the presented WZS strategy was compared to CIS strategy by hardware implementation and computer simulation. Results The processed audio signals, output from eight channels, were synthesized and played through loudhailer and could be heard with high fidelity. Conclusion The wavelet zero-cross stimulation(WZS) strategy, which generates stimulating pulsatile series at zero-cross points in the domain of wavelet transform, can keep the temporal correlation and coherence of speech remained in stimulating pulsatile series and reflects the characteristic of temporal coding for cochlea.

An inflatable liquid epidural balloon was used to simulate an intracranial space-occupying lesion.Two groups of dogs with 8 in each were employed.Under different conditions and time intervals,intracranial pressure(ICP)was continuously recorded,and pressure-volume index(PVI),volume-pressure response(VPR),and cerebrospinal fluid pulse pressure(CSFPP)were measured silmutaneously.It was found that PVI was in significant negative linear correlation with ICP,while VPR and CSFPP in significant positive linear correlation with IVP(P

Objective To investigation the relationship between health management and prognosis of chronic prostatitis. Methods Three hundied and forty-six cases of chronic prostatitis were divided into two groups. The control group treatment was local washing and medicine for three months. The experiment group treatment was local washing, medicine, and health management for three months. NIH-CPSI was used for the results. Results There was no significant different between the experimental group(165 cases)and the control group(154 cases)before treatment in NIH-CPSI. The effective rate of the the experimental group was 88.5%, and that of the control group was 64.9% after treatment. It is effective for cure and the prognosis of the experiment was better than the control (P<0.05). Conclusion It is suggested that it is more effective for the prognosis of chronic prostatitis after the intervention of health management.

Objective:To study the effects of LeFort I osteotomy in the treatment of old maxillary fracture.Methods:30 patients with old maxillary fracture were treated with LeFort I osteotomy,the rehabilitation of occluding relation and masticatory function were observed after operation.Results:28 patients had well-pleasing occluding relation and masticatory function; 2 patients dissatisfied with their masticatory function, because of unbalance of nerve-muscle after their occlusal plane were rebuilt.Conclusion:LeFort I osteotomy can be a method in the treatment of old maxillary fracture.

Objective:To investigate the changes of hyoid position and pharyngeal airway before and after sagittal split ramus osteotomy (SSRO) of skeletal mandibular prognathism. Methods:Sixteen severe skeletal mandibular prognathism cases(Class Ⅲ, 5 males and 11 females) were chosen. Pre and post operation lateral cephalograms analysis reflecting pharyngeal airway and position of the hyoid bone was performed. Results: ① After SSRO, the width of airway decreased significantly. ② The distance between the mandible and the hyoid bone was also decreased significantly. No significant differences were found regarding measurements of the hyoid bone to the cranial base in male patients. Conclusion: The distance from the mandible to the hyoid bone and the width of airway were decreased significantly after SSRO. It suggests that the tongue and airway might be reformed functionally to new environments following SSRO surgical treatment.

Objective To investigate the clinicopathological features of primary hepatocellular carcinoma of the liver(PCCCL)and assess the over-all survival rate of PCCCL after hepatectomy and the association between prognosis and clear cell ratio in PCCCL.Methods The clinicopathological data of 43 patients with PCCCL treated with hepatectomy in our hospital from January 1999 to December 2003 were retrospectively analyzed.Results X2 test showed a positive rate of HCV infection(14.0%)and capsule formation(88.4 0A)in the PCCCL group markedly higher than the positive rate of HCV infection(1.2%)and capsule formation(65.0%)in the CHCC group(P=0.000 and 0.005).Meanwhile,the vascular invasion rate was notably Iower in the PCCCL group(53.4%vs.65.0%),but there were no significant differences between the two groups(P=0.129).Kaplan-Meier method showed that the1-,3-and 5-year survival rates were significantly higher in the PCCCL group than in the CHCC group(81%,53%and 39%vs.76%,46%and 32 0A,P=0.021).The prognosis of patients in the PCCCL group was related to capsule formation.vascular invasion,liver cirrhosis and clear cell ratio.The 1-,3-and 5-year survival rates were markedly higher in the group with higher clear cell ratio (≥75%,subgroup B)than in group with lower clear cell ratio(＜75%,subgroup A)(80 0A,43%and 23%vs.85 0A,77% and 68%,P=0.011).Conclusion The notable clinicopathologicaI features of the patients with PCCCL are higher rates of HCV infection.capsule formation and lower rate of vascular invasion.Their prognosis is better than the patients with CHCC and related with the ratio of clear cell.

Rheumatoid arthritis (RA) , an autoimmune disease, become much popular in recent years. In this article, apoptosis of RA fibroblast like synovial cells and influence factors in this process were discussed, and the relating signal transduction pathway of RA fibroblast apoptosis was described.

To evaluate the influence of different brands of syringes on performance parameters and application quality of syringe pump, we carried out matching experiment of infusion/syringe pump analyzer Rigel Multi-Flo, made by ALK Co. in Sweden, for 3 different types of syringes to measure the flow rate, occlusion alarm pressure, occlusion time and bolus volume of 26 syringe pumps. Data of quality control were analyzed with statistical method. The results demonstrated that there were significant differences in the flow rate, occlusion alarm pressure, occlusion time and bolus volume (P<0. 01) between those of common syringes and original syringes. This study points out that the health care providers should select compatible syringes for syringe pumps, which provides evidence and guidance to assure the reasonable and safe application of syringe pumps in clinical practice.
