Recent Advances in Ophthalmology 2000;20(5):363-
Objective To discuss the long-term curative effect of botulinum toxin A(BTXA) for treating spasm of eyelid and facial muscle. Methods Ninty-two patients with spasm of eyelid and facial muscle were treated with BTXA and observed for a long term. Results After being injected with BTXA for 1~4 days, the spasm relieved gradually. Sixteen weeks later, the spasm symptoms relapsed. The relapse began mostly from eyelid spasm. The facial spasm's relief time was longer. lt might be up to 24 weeks. After injection, the patients had some slight complications of facial expression numb, ptosis and fissura palpebrae. The above complication symptoms recovered by themselves after two weeks. Conclusion The curative effect of BTXA on treating spasm of eyelid and facial muscle is reliable.

Chinese Journal of Tissue Engineering Research 2014;(7):1088-1093
BACKGROUND:Meniscus injury is a common disease, whose curative effect is not obvious. The clinical application of tissue engineering technology is gradual y rising, and mesenchymal stem cells-stents complex is expected to be used for the treatment of meniscus injury.
OBJECTIVE:To review the application process of mesenchymal stem cells-stents complex in meniscus injury, in order to provide reference for further study and clinical practice.
METHODS:A computer-based online search of PubMed database, VIP database, Wanfang database and China National Knowledge Infrastructure between 1980 and 2013 was performed to search related articles on mesenchymal stem cells-stents complex in meniscus injury. The key words were“mesenchymal stem cell, meniscus injury, tissue engineering, scaffold, stent”in English and“mesenchymal stem cell, meniscus injury, tissue engineering”in Chinese. For the articles in the same field, we preferred the ones published recently or in authorize journals. Meta-analysis and repetitive studies were excluded. 282 articles were included, and final y 59 articles were included according to inclusion criteria.
RESULTS AND CONCLUSION:Nowadays, numerous experiments showed that mesenchymal stem cells could differentiate into chondrocytes both in vivo or vitro. Mesenchymal stem cells-stents complex could be effective to meniscus injury. Although this technique is stil in exploratory stage, it has promising application prospects in treatment of meniscus injury, because it is characterized by convenience to col ect samples, vitality and no antigenicity.

Objective To explore the association between the single-nucleotide polymorphism (SNP) rs3822086 site of the α-Synuclein(SNCA)gene and Parkinson's disease (PD) of Uygurs versus Hans in Xinjiang, and to compare the distribution difference of this polymorphic site between the Uygurs and Hans. Methods The rs3822086 polymorphism was determined by polymerase chainreaction restriction fragment length polymorphism (PCR-RFLP) in 237 patients with idiopathic Parkinson's disease (IPD,including 92 Uygurs and 145 Hans) and 247 health controls (including 103 Uygurs and 144 Hans). Results In the group aged ≥60 years, the T/T,C/T genotypes and T allele frequency were higher in PD group (196 cases) than in control group (196 cases) (25.5% vs.20.9%,52.0% vs.44.4% and 51.5% vs.43.1%),for genotype:P=0.027,allele:P=0.018.Between the Uygur versus Han nationality population, the T/T,C/T genotype and T allele frequency in the Uygurs were lower than in the Hans (15.4% vs.30.4 %,45.6% vs.50.5% and 38.2% vs.55.7%),for genotype:P =0.000,allele:P =0.000.Conclusions The SNP rs3822086 site of SNCA gene may be a potential susceptibility site of IPD patients over the age of 60 years in Xinjiang, and rs3822086C/T + T/T is susceptible genotypes and rs3822086T is susceptible alleles. The distribution of rs3822086 polymorphism of SNCA might have a significant difference between the Xinjiang Uygur and Han populations.

Progress in Biochemistry and Biophysics 2001;28(2):246-250
Proteome research has become a new hot spot in the post-genome era. High-resolution two-dimensional gel electrophoresis (2-DE), which provides the most comprehensive analysis system of the whole proteome, was highly improved in recent years. With the development of computer techniques, the powerful and user-friendly image analysis systems appeared to help high-throughput, large-scale proteomic studies. Using new generation two-dimensional image analysis software, ImageMaster 2D Elite, the 2D gels of proteins extracted from cultured Schwann’s cells were processed. The analysis procedure, including image acquirement, spot detection, match, background subtraction, pI/Mr calibration, analysis results report and database query, were reported and discussed.

Objective:To observe the effects of hydrogen on osteogenic capacity of human periodontal ligament cells(hPDLCs)stim-ulated with P.g-LPS.Methods:hPDLCs were cultured and divided into 4 groups:control(C)group, osteogenic induction(OI) group,OI +1 00 ng/ml LPS(OILPS)group and OIPLS +3%H2 (H2 OIPLS)group, and treated respectively.Alizarin red staining (ARS)was carried out 3 weeks after treatment.ALP and OC mRNA expression of the cells was examined by RT-PCR after 7-d treat-ment.Results:LPS decreased A value of ARS(P <0.01 ),ALP mRNA expression(P <0.001 )and OC mRNA expression(P <0.001 )of the cells.H2 increased the A value(P <0.05),ALP mRNA expression(P <0.01 )and OC mRNA(P <0.01 )of the cells treated by LPS.Conclusion:High concentration of P.g-LPS can inhibit osteogenic capacity of hPDLCs,while hydrogen can impair the P.g-LPS induced suppression of hPDLC's osteogenesis.

Chinese Journal of Immunology 2014;(11):1477-1479,1484
Objective:To investigate the correlation between G protein-coupled receptor 120 ( GPR120 ) and glucose transporter 4 (GLUT4) in 3T3-L1 cells.Methods:3T3-l1 cells were induced for differentiation,GRP120 mRNA was detected by RT-PCR and Oil red O was used to determine fat expression.GPR120 expression was knocked down by a specific siRNA in 3T3-L1cells.3T3-L1 cell that were tranfected with GPR120 siRNA were incubated with palmitic acid for 24 hours.Then,real-time PCR and Western blot were used to detect the expression of GLUT4 mRNA and protein. Results: Induced differentiation led to GPR120 overexpression in 3T3-L1 cells ( P<0.05 ).GPR120 knockdown resulted in reduction of both lipid volume and number in 3T3-L1 cells.Furthermore,GPR120 knockdown decreased GLUT4 mRNA and protein levels in 3T3-L1 cells (P<0.05,respectively).Conclusion:GPR120 affects the expression level of GLUT4 in insulin signaling pathway, suggesting its involvement in the initiation of insulin resist-ance.
