2.Protecting Effects of Different Time-course Electroacupuncture Pretreatments on Blood-brain Barrier Function in Cerebral Ischemia Rats
Shanghai Journal of Acupuncture and Moxibustion 2014;(12):1169-1172
ObjectiveTo investigate the impactsof different time-course electroacupuncture pretreatments on brain water content and blood-brain barrier permeability and assess their protecting effects on blood-brain barrier functionin cerebral ischemia rats. MethodClean-grade healthy male SD rats were randomly allocated to five groups (n=48): model control group, and one-day, three-day, seven-day and fifteen-day electroacupuncture pretreatment groups. A rat model of unilateral middle cerebral artery occlusion (MCAO) was made after electroacupuncture pretreatment was finished in various electroacupuncture groups. The water content of the brain and the amount of EB through blood brain barrier were measured at 12, 24 and 48 hrs after cerebral ischemia. ResultBoth brain water content and EB permeation amount were lower at 12 and 48 hrs than at 24 hrs after cerebral ischemia (P<0.05). There was a significant reducing effect on brain water content and EB permeation amount in the fifteen-day electroacupuncture pretreatment group at various time points after cerebral ischemia (P<0.05,P<0.01,P<0.001).Conclusion The blood-brain barrier is impaired most severely at 24 hrs of the three time points 12, 24 and 48 hrs after cerebral ischemia. Electroacupuncture pretreatment can produce a protecting effect on blood-brain barrier function in cerebral ischemia rats by markedly reducing cerebral edema and blood-brain barrier permeability.
3.Effects ofTanyu Tongzhi Formula Drug-Containing Serum on Proliferation and Migration of Human Umbilical Vein Endothelial Cells
Chinese Journal of Information on Traditional Chinese Medicine 2015;(1):50-52
Objective To observe the effects ofTanyu Tongzhi Formula on proliferation and migration of human umbilical vein endothelial cells (HUVECs);To explore its activity of pro-angiogenesis.Methods HUVECs were cultured in vitro. Rats were treated with gavage containing different doses ofTanyu Tongzhi Formula (78.0, 39.0, 19.5 g/kg) to prepare serum with different doses of medicine. The activity of HUVECs was measured by MTT method. The effects on migration of HUVECs were inspected by using scratch wound assay. Results Compared with the normal control group, serum containing high-dose and medium-doseTanyu Tongzhi Formula could significantly promote the proliferation of the HUVECs (P<0.01). The rates were 49.78% and 33.92% respectively. And the cell migration rate was higher in the two groups than in the normal control group (P<0.01). The rates were 11.36% and 11.62% respectively.ConclusionTanyu Tongzhi Formula can promote proliferation and migration in HUVEC, which may be active to pro-angiogenesis.
4.Modern Research Ideas and Methods on Efficacy of Chinese Herb Prescriptions Originated from Traditional Chinese Medicine
World Science and Technology-Modernization of Traditional Chinese Medicine 2015;(7):1372-1379
Chinese herbal prescription (CHP) is the main method and mean of clinical medication in traditional Chinese medicine (TCM). The CHP efficacy is the summary of multi-herb function under the guidance of TCM theories. With the development of modern science and technology, the scientific and organic interpretation of scientific connotation of CHP efficacy is a difficult problem in TCM. In this paper, the modern research ideas and methods of CHP efficacy, which greatly enriched the modern research content of CHP efficacy as well as promoted its research and development, were discussed and summarized.
5.The identification and culture methods of endothelial progenitor cells
Chinese Pharmacological Bulletin 2003;0(10):-
In the last 10 years,an increasing interest has been devoted to the study of endothelial progenitor cells(EPCs).Alteration and/or reduction of the circulating EPCs have/has been associated with different manifestation of cardiovascular disorders.Thererfore,EPCs have been extensively studied as biomarkers of cardiovascular disease and as a cell-based therapy for repair of damaged blood vessels. In the review,we focus on two methodologies used to identify and enumerate EPCs in the majority of studies up to date.
6.Role of autophagy in cardiac myocyte during ischemia/reperfusion
Chinese Pharmacological Bulletin 1986;0(06):-
Autophagy is a ubiquitous physiological process that occurs in all eukaryotic cells. It can be induced by starvation,ischemia/reperfusion injury and heart failure.Rational autophagy in cardiac cells during ischemia/reperfusion helps to keep cellular homeostasis, and inhibit the cell loss. However, inappropriate activation of autophagy leads to cell death.
7.Key regulators of HIF-1 and its action in angiogenesis after ischemia
Chinese Pharmacological Bulletin 1987;0(01):-
Hypoxia-inducible factor-1(HIF-1) is a heterodimer of an O2-rugulated ?subunit and a constitutively expressed ?subunit. The article reviews the active expression of HIF-1 and its important role in angiogenesis induced by tissue hypoxia/ischemia.
8.Progress in the animal models of Alzheimers disease
Chinese Pharmacological Bulletin 1986;0(05):-
Alzheimers disease (AD) is a progressively and retrogressively neurodegenerative disorder characterized by two hallmarks: senile plaques (SP) and neurofibrillary tangles (NFTs). The studies of animal models, which are crucial to the further study of AD, will promote the understanding of the etiology, mechanisms and medicine screening. Although the animal models such as experimental injury, normal aging and compound types could represent the cognitive deficit, they lack the essential neuropathological characteristics of AD. Senescence accelerated mouse / prone 8 is one of relatively practical and stable models. The most enchanting focus of AD models is transgenic mice that provide new carriers for the research of pathogenic forms of specific genes and metabolites thereof in vivo. As therapies of AD evolve from symptomatic treatment to causative treatment,so must the animal models of AD.
9.Method for establishing chronic myocardial ischemic animal model
Chinese Pharmacological Bulletin 1987;0(03):-
Animal models of chronic myocardial ischemia are more accordant with clinical pathological and physiological procession of ischemic cardiomyopathy, because they can be administrated more times and observed for a long time. The major methods to establish animal models include chronic coronary mechanically compressed, coronary embolismed, coronary ligated and high fat die. We should select the different kinds of animal and methods according to the different physiologicals characteristics in animal.
10.The effects of SSTG drug serum on Caclium-CaM-CaMPKⅡ signal system in cardiomyocytes injury induced by hypoxia and reoxgyenization
Chinese Pharmacological Bulletin 2003;0(07):-
Aim To explore the effects of Shuangshen tongguan(SSTG) drug serum on Calcium-Calmodulin(CaM)-Calcium/CaM dependent kinaseⅡsignal system in cardiomyocytes injury induced by hypoxia and reoxgyenization. Methods The cardiomyocytes were deprived of oxygen and glucose to mimic hypoxia reoxygenation injury.Intracellular calcium concentration, calmodulin(CaM) and calcium/calmodulin dependent kinaseⅡ?(CaMPKⅡ?) mRNA were measured by fluorospectrophotometry and reverse transcription-polymerase chain reaction(RT-PCR)respectively.Results After hypoxia/reoxygenation,intracellular calcium concentration,CaM and CaMPKⅡ? expression were enhanced(P
