5.Analysis of prognostic models for liver failure
Journal of Clinical Hepatology 2014;30(10):1082-1086
Liver failure progresses rapidly, and patients with this disease are usually in a critical condition. The medical treatment of liver failure has unsatisfactory results, leading to a high mortality. How to accurately judge the prognosis of patients with liver failure according to their clinical manifestations and laboratory test results is a very good guide for clinical treatment strategies and donor liver allocation. The prognostic models for liver failure, such as CTP score,MELD and its derivative scoring system,KCH criteria,SOFA score,APACHE sco-ring system,SMSVH score,Clichy criteria, and ANN,are reviewed. These models are used to guide the development of clinical treatment strategies and screen out patients eligible for liver transplantation. In addition, the prognostic values of these models for liver failure and their differences are evaluated.
6.Effect of 5-Aza-CdR on proliferation and PRDM1α gene expression in Burkitt ' s lymphoma cell line NAMALWA
Journal of Leukemia & Lymphoma 2012;21(10):607-610
Objective To explore the effect of DNA methylation inhibitor 5-aza-2'-deoxycytidine (5-Aza-CdR) on proliferation and tumor suppressor gene PRDM1α expression in Burkitt's lymphoma cell line NAMALWA. Methods MTT was used to study the impact of DNA methylation inhibitor on proliferation in NAMALWA cells, and comparative real-time reverse transcription-polymerase chain reaction (RQ-PCR) with SYBR Green assay was used to detect PRDM1α gene expression. Results MTT results showed that 5-AzaCdR inhibited proliferation of NAMALWA cells in a dose-dependent manner. After treated with 5-Aza-CdR for 72 h at 0.01,0.0625,0.1,0.125,0.25,0.5,1,2 and 4 μmol/L,the inhibition rates were 21.93 %,39.23 %,47.69 %,50.37 %,53.54 %,57.72 %,62.31%,65.68 %,67.87 %,respectively, and the differences of absorbance among the groups were also statistically significant (all P< 0.01). Meanwhile, 5-Aza-CdR could induce the re-expression of PRDM1α, and △Ct of 0.5, 1, 2 μmol/L groups showed significant differences compared with control group (all P < 0.05). Conclusion DNA methylation inhibitor 5-Aza-CdR can significantly inhibit the proliferation of Burkitt' s lymphoma cell line NAM ALWA,and the possible mechanism of this inhibition may be induction of demethylation and re-expression of PRDM 1α.
7.Application of 18F-fluorothymidine PET/CT in diagnosis of tumor
Chinese Journal of Interventional Imaging and Therapy 2009;6(4):388-391
18F fluorodeoxyglucose, as a kind of tracer, has its limitations in positron emission tomography/computed tomography (PET/CT). 18F-fluorothymidine (18F-FLT) is a kind of new tracer. The value of 18F-FLT in diagnosis of tumor, tumor staging and assessment of therapeutic effects was reviewed in this article.
8.Clinical Observation on Comprehensive Treatment on Cutaneous Region for Low Back Pain
Journal of Acupuncture and Tuina Science 2014;(4):246-250
Objective: To observe the clinical effects of comprehensive treatmenton cutaneous region for low back pain.
Methods: One hundred and twenty outpatients with low back pain who met the diagnostic criteria were randomly divided into a cutaneous region group or a medication group, 60 cases in each group. The cases in the cutaneous region group were treated by Nie-pinching up the skin of the lumbosacral region, cupping and acupuncture. Those in the medication group were treated by oral administration of Celecoxib capsule. The visual analogue scale (VAS) and Oswestry disability index (ODI) were used to assess the therapeutic effects.
Results: After treatment, the VAS scores of both groups were different from those before treatment, showing statistical significances (allP<0.01). The D-valuse of VAS scores of both groups were different from those before treatment, showing statistical significances (allP<0.01). The D-value of OID scores in the cutaneous region group was significantly different from that in the medication group(P<0.01). After treatment, the total effective rate was 91.7% in the cutaneous region group versus 76.7% in the medication group, there was a significant difference in comparing the clinical effect (P<0.01).
Conclusion: Both comprehensive treatment on the cutaneous region and Celecoxib capsule can obviously relieve low back pain. But comprehensive treatment on the cutaneous region is better than Celecoxib capsule in the therapeutic effects.
9.Non-motor symptoms in Parkinson's disease: a 2-years follow-up study on idiopathic
Chinese Journal of Geriatrics 2014;33(12):1276-1278
Objective To study the prevalence and progression of non-motor symptoms (NMS) during 2 years follow-up in idiopathic PD patients, and to investigate the relationship of NMS with quality of life and motor symptoms. Methods A total of 82 idiopathic PD patients were involved in the survey.Unified Parkinson's Disease Rating Scale (UPDRS) and Non-Motor Symptoms Questionnaire for Parkinson's disease (NMSQuest) and Mini Mental State Examination (MMSE) were used to assess non-motor symptoms. Results The NMS total scores were higher at the end of follow-up than at baseline [(11.97±5.54) vs.(9.45±5.13),r=0.620,P=0.007].The scores of 6 symptoms including daytime salivation, constipation, photism or auditory hallucination, depression, sleep walking or somniloquy, diplopia, and 4 syndromes including digestive system, hallucination and delusion, cardiovascular system and other system were significantly increased. The symptoms of hallucination and delusion, and the decrease of recent memory at baseline had significant correlations with the decline of quality of life and the aggravation of motor symptoms (r=0.625,0.578,P=0.016,0.035).Conclusions NMS present in the whole course of PD and show rapid changes.NMS have correlations with the decline of quality of life and the aggravation of motor symptoms.
