1.Alteration of fatty acid components and insulin resistance of red cell membrane in diabetic patients with coronary heart disease
Basic & Clinical Medicine 2001;21(2):166-168
The fatty acid components and microviscosity of erythrocyte membrane in 39 type 2 diabetic patients with and without coronary heart disease(CHD) were examined by high-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) and fluorescence polarization teachnique, and their relationship with insulin sensitivity index (ISI) and CHD were analyzed. The results showed that contents and composition of erythrocyte membrane arachidonic acid (AA,C20:4)were significantly lower in type 2 diabetic patients with or without CHD than those in control subjects (P<0.01 and P<0.05).The total fatty acids contents were also significantly lower in patients with CHD than those in normal subjects (P<0.05).In patients with or without CHD,erythrocyte membrane microviscosity was significantly increased as compared with the controls (P<0.01 and P<0.05),and it was higher in diabetics with CHD than those without CHD (P<0.05).AA contents of erythrocyte membrane was negatively correlated with microviscosity and positively correlated with insulin sensitivity index (ISI),while the microviscosities were negatively correlated with ISI in diabetics.AA,linoleic acid contents, microviscosity of erythrocyte membrane and ISI were all correlated with the incidence of CHD in diabetics. In diabetic patients, the fatty acid metabolic abnormality could cause the alterations of functions, structures and fluidity of erythrocyte membrane, thus may contributing to increased IRS and might be related to the incidence of CHD.
2.Roles of autophagy in cardiovascular diseases:research progression
Chinese Journal of Geriatrics 2017;36(5):589-593
The morbidity and mortality of cardiovascular diseases(CVD)are still high in our country, they severely threaten peopleS health and quality of life.A dysregulated or reduced autophagy is associated with ischemic heart disease, cardiac hypertrophy, heart failure and arrhythmia.Autophagy is a key regulator in CVD development, and is essential for maintenance of heart function and improvement of prognosis. Thus, modulating autophagy represents an attractive future therapeutic target for treating cardiovascular disease. This article reviewed the research progression about effects of autophagy on ischemic heart disease, cardiac hypertrophy, heart failure and arrhythmia.
3.Value of combined determination of tumor markers in the diagnosis of senile patients with colorectal cancer
Clinical Medicine of China 2011;27(12):1300-1302
Objective To evaluate the value of serum tumor markers in diagnosis of over 80 years old patients with colorectal cancer. Methods Serum CA199,CA242 and CEA of 68 cases senile patients with colorectal cancer and 35 cases senile patients with benign large intestinal diseases were detected by ELISA.Results Serum levels of CA199,CA242 and CEA in patients with colorectal cancer were (37.95 ± 15.95 ) U/ml,( 50.08 ± 24.20 ) U/ml,( 22.34 ± 17.35 ) μg/L respectively and were significantly higher than that in patients with benign large intestinal diseases CA199 ( 10.73 ± 6.27 ) U/ml,CA242 ( 8.00 ± 3.52 ) U/ml,CEA(2.32 ± 1.01 )μg/L.In addition, the level of these three markers was increased with the progress of colorectal cancer and the sensitivity of diagnosis was related with the stages of colorectal cancer.Parallel combined testing methods increased the diagnostic sensitivity to 83.6%,and serial combined testing increased the diagnostic specificity to 88.7 %.Conclusions Serum tumor markers showed certain values in the diagnosis of the senile patients with colorectal carcinoma.Furthermore, the combined determination of tumor markers is helpful for early diagnosis of colorectal cancer and increases the sensitivity and specificity in diagnosing of colorectal carcinoma.
4.The transcription factor Egr-1 and the lung diseases

Chinese Journal of Pathophysiology 1986;0(02):-
Egr-1 is an important transcription factor, which regulates at least 30 kinds of gene expression. Egr-1 couples extracellular signals to long-term responses by altering expression of Egr-1 target genes. So egr-1 can directly or indirectly affect cell differentiation, apoptosis, immune response, injury and repair. This article reviewed the progress in Egr-1 and the lung disease.

OBJECTIVETo verify the clinical efficacy on chronic fatigue syndrome of qi deficiency syndrome treated with acupuncture at selective time and explore the effect mechanism.
METHODSEighty patients were randomized into a selective-time-acupuncture group and an acupuncture group, 40 cases in each one. Qihai (CV 6), Guanyuan (CV 4), Hegu (LI 4), Taichong (LR 3), Sanyinjiao (SP 6) and Zusanli (ST 36) were selected in the two groups. In the selective-time-acupuncture group, acupuncture was used at 9:00am to 11:00am. In the acupuncture group, acupuncture was used at any time except in the range from 9:00am to 11:00am. No any manipulation was applied after the arrival of needling sensation. The treatment was given once every day, 10 day treatment made one session and two sessions of treatment were required. The fatigue scale was adopted to evaluate the efficacy before and after treatment in the patients of the two groups. The ratios among CD3+, CD4+ and CD8+ T cells in the peripheral blood were detected before ad b a after treatment.
RESULTSIn the acupuncture group, the total score of fatigue and the score of physical fatigue were reduced after treatment as compared with those before treatment (all P<0.05). In the selective-time -acupuncture group, the total score of fatigue, the s core of physical fatigue and the score of mental fatigue after treatment were reduced obviously as compared with those hefore treatment (all P<0. 01). The improvements in the scores of the selective-time-acupuncture group were superior to the acupuncture group (all P<0. 05). The ratio of CD3+ and CD8+ T cells was increased obviously after treatment in the two groups (all P<0. 05) and the ratio of CD4+ and CD8+ T cells was reduced obviously in the selective-time-acupuncture group (P<0. 05), which was better than that in the acupuncture group (all P<0.05). The total effective rate was 95.0% (38/40) in the selective-time-acupuncture group, which was better than 80.0% (32/40) in the acupuncture group (P<0.05).
CONCLUSIONThe acupuncture therapy at selective time is effective in the treatment of chronic fatigue syndrome of qi deficiency syndrome, which is especially better at relieving mental fatigue. The effect of this therapy is achieved probably by improving the immune function via the regulation of the ratios among CD3+, CD4+ and CD8+ T cells.

Journal of Integrative Medicine 2003;1(1):66-70
With the further development of clinical modernization of traditional Chinese medicine (TCM), new request to tongue diagnosis for objectivity and quantification is raised. Many researchers have devoted themselves to this field and have achieved some accomplishments since 1950's. Especially in recent years, the revolution of information technique derived from computer industry brings the research new chances. The research history of the past five decades can be divided into three stages: (1) looking for micro-markers by newly-developed medical technique; (2) quantifying traditional markers by new technique; (3) further development based on information technique and corporation of multiple subjects. This article reviewed the three stages and described its prospect.
