OBJECTIVE: According to the holism in traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) theory, this manuscript explores the relativity of pathogenesis among hypertension, diabetes and hyperlipemia.DATA SOURCES: We applied computer to search articles in English on pathogenesis ofhypertension, diabetes and hyperlipemia in Medline between January 1985 and December 2004 by words "hypertension, diabetes, hyperlipemia, pathogenesis" .Besides, we also used computer to search articles in Chinese on pathogenesis of hypertension, diabetes and hyperlipemia in Chinese magazine full text database between January 1990 and December 2004 by words "hypertension, diabetes, hyperlipemia, pathogenesis".STUDY SELECTION: Primarily, articles on pathogenesis of hypertension,diabetes and hyperlipemia were selected in TCM and modern medicine respectively. Accepted standard were: ① Random control clinic test with methods of single blind, double blind or no blind; ② Nonrandom control test;③ Fore-and-aft control test; ④ Chapter in monograph. Eliminated standard:repeated research.DATA EXTRACTION: Totally 28 articles on pathogenesis of hypertension,diabetes and hyperlipemia were found in TCM and modern medicine, however, 12 articles were selected according to accepted standard, and 16 articles were eliminated due to repeated content.DATA SYSTHESIS: Totally 12 selected articles were analyzed on pathogeneses of hypertension, diabetes and hyperlipemia in TCM and modern medicine, and hinted internal affiliation of these three diseases from view of molecular biology.CONCLUSION: These three diseases can be regarded as a whole entity for study. High blood pressure, high blood sugar and high lipemia could be treated as different forms of the entity or in different developing courses of the whole. In a certain course it might present as one of the forms specifically. It might manifest high blood pressure mainly in clinic, or high blood sugar, or high lipemia,also several forms at the same time. It will be beneficial to take the holism and visceral theory in TCM for reference in research of modern medicine.

Objective To study the influence of Orem self-care theory on postpartum quality of life and role change of parturients with natural labor. Methods 100 parturients with natural labor in our hospital from May 2010 to July 2011 were selected as research object,and they were randomly divided into the control group and the observation group with 50 cases in each group,the control group was taken care with routine nursing methods,the observation group was given with nursing according to Orem self-care theory.Then the SCL-90 score,situation of role change and satisfaction degree of two groups before nursing and on the second and fifth days after nursing were analyzed and compared. Results The SCL-90 score of the observation group after the nursing on second and fifth days was all lower than those of the control group,the better rate of role change was higher than that of the control group,patients'satisfaction degree was higher than that of the control group. Conclusions The Orem self-care theory plays an important role in improving the quality of life and role change of parturients with natural labor after delivery,and it can significantly improve satisfaction degree of parturients.

Intrauterine growth retardation (IUGR) can improve the danger of insulin resistance syndrome. It was reported that regulatory factors of βcells development and enzymes of regulating metabolism of glucose, fat, insulin signal transduction and effecter molecule were expressed at a low level in the IUGR. As a result, the number of β cells, proliferation, insulin secretion and insulin sensitivity was reduced, apoptosis was increased, and glucose intake in peripheral tissue declined. All these factors contribute to the insulin resistance syndrome.

OBJECTIVE:To establish an HPLC method for determination of major component and related peptide in eptifibatide injection.METHODS:The determination was performed on AichromBond-AQ C18 column with column temperature at 25 ℃ and flow rate of 1.0 mL?min-1.The mobile phase consisted of acetonitrile-water(0.13% trifluoroacetic acid).The detection wavelength was set at 220 nm and injection volume was 20 ?L.RESULTS:The linear range was 75.2～1 203.6 ?g?mL-1(r=0.9999) with mean recovery of 99.73%～99.95% (RSD=0.26%).CONCLUSION:The method is simple and rapid and it is applicable for determination of major component and related peptide in eptifibatide injection.

Matrix metallopeptidase 9 (MMP-9) is a group of enzymes that belong to the zine-metalloproteinases family involved in the pathophysiological process of various diseases,such as inflammation,angiogenesis and tumor invasion.Hypoxia-inducible factor-1 (HIF-1) is a nucleoprotein with transcription activity,which consists of two different subunits,α and β.It plays an important role in the process of the formation of new blood vessels following ischemic necrosis and the process of hypoxia induced cell apoptosis.Silent information regulator2-related enzymes 1 (SIRT1) is a NAD-dependent deacetylase sirtuin,which belongs to a member of the sirtuin family of proteins,also involved in many pathophysiologic processes,such as aging,cell death and tumorigenesis.This study aims to review the role of MMP-9,HIF-1 and SIRT1 in acute lung injury.

Objective To explore the efficacy and safety of esmolol for the treatment of acute myocardial infarction patients with sympathetic storm.Methods Sixty acute myocardial infarction patients who suffered from sympathetic storm during the hospitalization from January 2013 to January 2015 in the People's Hospital of Baoji City.The patients were randomly divided into two groups : esmolol group(patients were treated with cardioversion or electric defibrillation and esmolol, n =30) and control group (patients were treated with cardioversion or electric defibrillation and amiodarone, n =30).Results The effective rate of esmolol group was 93.33％ (28/30), of control group was 70.00％ (21/30), and the difference was significant (x2 =5.455, P =0.020).The success rate of esmolol group which terminated sympathetic storm was significantly higher than control group (28％ vs.20％, P =0.020).Recurrence of ventricular tachycardia or ventricular fibrillation after esmolol treatment was significantly lower, the corresponding were less (3.30± 2.76 vs.6.83 ± 4.58, P =0.001).Esmolol group was no occurrence of hypotension that could not be corrected or severe slow arrhythmia.NTproBNP level between the two groups was not statistically significant observation (P ＞ 0.05).Conclusion Esmolol treatment of sympathetic storm is better efficacy, safety and be worthy of clinical application.

BACKGROUND:Studies have shown that under certain conditions, mesenchymal stem cels can be induced to differentiate into hepatocytes and promote local angiogenesis to generate new capilary network and build rich colateral circulation for the purpose of improvement and treatment of liver cirrhosis. OBJECTIVE:To review the latest advances in mesenchymal stem cel transplantation for the treatment of liver cirrhosis. METHODS:PubMed, CNKI, Wanfang and VIP databases were searched using keywords of marrow stem cels, hepatic cirrhosis in the title and abstracts for articles addressing mesenchymal stem cel transplantation for liver cirrhosis published from January 2000 to December 2014. Finaly, 53 articles were reviewed. RESULTS AND CONCLUSION:Mesenchymal stem cels have self-replication and multi-directional differentiation potential, and also possess paracrine and immune functions, which are ideal seed cels used for cel replacement therapy. At present, the techniques for isolation, culture, identification andin vitroamplification of mesenchymal stem cels have been quite mature, and animal studies have confirmed that umbilical cord mesenchymal stem cels is safe and effective to treat decompensated cirrhosis, which can fundamentaly treat target organ damage and improve liver function, but there are stil many clinical issues to be resolved.

Objective To analyse the role of haptoglobin in the immunomodulatory in patients with premature coronary heart disease.Methods Clinical data of 60 premature coronary heart disease patients and 40 healthy people was analysed.The general information and serume haptoglobin,hs-CRP and IL-6 were compared.Results There were no statistically difference between the two groups of the general information such as sex,years,BMI,hypertension and diabetes (P>0.05),excepts the smoking history(27/33 vs 9/31,χ2=3.324,P<0.05).Hp,hs-CRP and IL-6 levels in the observer group were signifi-cantly higher than the control group,the difference was statistically significant (97.76±23.08 mg/L vs 65.81±19.42 mg/L,10.43±3.81 mg/L vs 3.05±0.94 mg/L,16.43±4.59 pg/L vs 4.62±1.83 pg/L,P<0.001).Correlation analysis showed that in the observer group Hp and hs-CRP showed a significant positive correlation (r=0.518,P<0.001),and the same results was found between IL-6 and Hp (r= 0.291,P=0.024).Conclusion Haptoglobin level was significantly in-creased in patients with coronary heart disease,which suggested that haptoglobin played a role in the development of coro-nary heart disease,and its level was correlated with IL-6.

BACKGROUND:In the whole world, spinal cord injuries caused by trauma lead to more than 180 000 people presenting with permanent impairment annualy. A large number of experiments have confirmed in recent years, under physiological conditions, microRNA has specific expression and plays an important role in the nervous system. OBJECTIVE: To discuss the changes in microRNA expression induced by injuries as wel as the pathophysiological significance in spinal cord injury, and to explore the development potential of microRNA in tissue-engineered and clinical repair of spinal cord injury. METHODS:A computer-based search of PubMed and Chinese Journal Database was performed for related articles published from January 2000 to December 2014 using the keywords of “SCI, microRNA, transcriptional control, clinical research progress” in English and Chinese. Finaly, 38 articles were included for result analysis. RESULTS AND CONCLUSION: Mechanical injury initialy triggers a series of complex secondary damages, including nervous, vascular and immune systems, which can influence the severity of spinal cord injury to a great extent. Secondary damage to the spinal cord is mainly attributed to the activation and deactivation of some specific genes associated with celular and biochemical mechanisms, such as cysteine aspartate specific protease (caspase) gene family, apoptosis related protein Fas and its ligand Fasl system, P53 gene, apoptosis related gene Bcl-2 family. Recent studies have proved that the functional activation of microRNA expression is the key to spinal cord injury. With the development of biological information engineering, studies and controling technologies associated with microRNA expression have been gradualy dominated, some clinical application based on microRNA technology has entered the clinical trial stage. It is believed that with the continuous development of technology and decrease of cost, permanent dysfunction due to spinal cord injury can be regulated and repaired through the microRNA technology at gene level in the future.

[Summary] Glucagon-like peptide-1 ( GLP-1 ) as a new treatment of type 2 diabetes, not only has hypoglycemic effect, but also plays an important role in the regulation of lipid metabolism. GLP-1 plays a unique role in regulating lipid metabolism via lipid absorption and transport, fat formation and decomposition, hepatic lipid metabolism, and cholesterol transport.
