Transmembrane TNF-? is an integral protein expressed on the surface of avtivated monocytes/macrophages. In order to define the interrelation between TM-TNF and biomembrane, we used an in vitro translation system and microsomal membranes to engender expression models of two types of TM-TNF; TM-TNF anchored to microsomes and naked 26kD TNF without membranes. When the cytotoxic activity of these two types of TNF was compared, the synthesized 26kD TNF was found to exert its effects only in the presence of microsomal membranes. With the use of indirect immunofluorescence technique, we further studied the binding of the in vitro translated 26kD TNF with TNFR on the membrane of HL60 cells. It was found that only TM-TNF attached to the microsomes could bind effectively with TNFR, while naked 26kD TNF could not. These results suggest that binding with biomembrane may be the prerequisite for 26kD TNF to fold properly for displaying its biological effects. In case 26kD TNF is freed from membrane, it can no more bind with TNFR, there by leading to loss of its cytotoxic effect.

A dynamic study for the activity of myocardial cytochrome oxidase from guinea pigs fed with low selenium and low phospholipid semi-synthetic diet (basal diet) or diet supplemented with selenium, phospholipid or other agents was conducted with Pye Unicam SP-1800 UV spectrophotome-ter and Circular C100.The results showed that the activity of myocardial cytochrome oxidase from animals fed with basal diet was the lowest. The single supplement of selenium or phospholipids did not increase the enzymic activity significantly. Only when selenium and phospholipids, especially all the ingredients related to the phospholipids metabolism, such as choline and methionine were supplemented simultaneously, the enzymic activity (velocity constant K) then increased significantly, and sometime even exceeded that of the group fed with normal diet. In the sametime the ratio of phospholipids in heart and the cardiolipin content was close to that of control animals fed with normal diet. The significance of boundary lipids in heart for membranous enzyme and the pathogenesis of Keshan disease was discussed.

Objective To evaluate the effectiveness and safety of terazosin in the treatment of benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH)patients with concomitant hypertension.Methods A singlecenter prospective clinical observational study was conducted from March,2006 to March,2010 in our center.The main endpoints were the changes of IPSS total score,diastolic and systolic blood pressures at the end of 4 weeks and 3 monthes compared with the baseline,The second endpoints were Qmax value at the end of 4 weeks and 3 monthes compared with the baseline,Safety was assessed by adverse events.Results There were 212 patients in the study recruited,and 189 patients completed the study.All patients had BPH combined with hepertension.All patients were randomly devided into two statistical analysis group,blood pressure well controled and not well controled group,In the well controlled group,the IPSS socre reduced from 22.31 ± 5.18 at baseline to 15.64 ±3.91 at the end of the 4th weeks and 13.16 ± 3.53 at the end of 3rd monthes in the blood pressure well controled group populatin( P ＜ 0.01 ).The Qmax were improved significantly from (7.87 ± 2.41 ) ％ at baseline to (14.19 ±2.64)％ at the end of the 4th weeks and (15.69 ±2.77)％ at the end of3rd monthes in the blood pressure well controled group populatin( P ＜ 0.01 ).Terazosin had moderate effect in blood pressure decreasing (P ＜ 0.05 ),and all patients were within normal blood pressure range.In the uncontrolled group,the IPSS socre reduced from 21.55 ± 4.82 at baseline to 15.44 ± 3.66 at the end of the 4th weeks and 12.96 ± 3.11 at the end of 3rd monthes in the blood pressure well controled group populatin (P ＜ 0.01 ).The Qmax were improved significantly from ( 8.27 ± 2.27 ) ％ at baseline to ( 14.26 ± 2.87) ％ at the end of the 4th weeks and ( 15.51 ±2.92) ％ at the end of 3rd monthes in the blood pressure well controled group populatin( P ＜ 0.01 ).Terazosin decreased BPH patient blood pressure with controlled patients and unctrolled patients additionaly to other blood pressure medicine (P ＜ 0.05 ),and no severe side effect occured.At the end of the study,all patients were taking drug continuously and were followed.Conclnsion Terazosin can significantly improve the symptoms and quality of life in BPH patients with hypertension with good safety and compliance.

Objective To analyze the epidemiological characteristics of malaria in Jiangxi Province from 2010 to 2014 and to provide a reference for malaria control in the whole province.Methods Data on malaria cases in Jiangxi Province from 2010 to 2014 were collected through the Disease Reporting Information System of Chinese Center for Disease Control and Prevention and Information System for Parasitic Diseases Control and Prevention.Descriptive epidemiological method was used to analyze the area distribution,time distribution and population distribution of the malaria cases.Results A total of 218 malaria cases were reported from 2010 to 2014 in the province,with an annual mean incidence of 0.097 3/100 000.One dead case was reported with a fatality rate of 0.46％(1/218).Of all 11 prefectures and 100 counties (cities,districts) in Jiangxi,65 counties (cities,districts)reported malaria cases.The top three counties (cities,districts) of malaria cases were Qingshanhu (22),Nanchang (15)and Jinxian (13),totally accounting for 22.94％ (50/218).The cases were reported through the whole year,without obvious seasonal peak.The ratio of male to female was 30.14:1.00.The age of the cases mainly distributed around the ages of 20-＜ 60 years,accounting for 94.49％ (206/218).The peak appeared in 40-＜ 50 years group,accounting for 32.11％ (70/218).The three major occupations of the cases were farmer,worker and migrant worker (131,60.09％).The cases were mainly imported from Africa and Southeast Asia,whose proportion of imported cases was 76.19％ (160/210) and 19.52％ (41/210),respectively.Conclusions The incidence of malaria is stable with a slight increase in Jiangxi Province from 2010 to 2014.Control of imported malaria cases will be the main task in the future.

Objective To evaluate the in-vivo effect of Compound Phyllanthus urinaria Ⅱ(CPU Ⅱ) on duck hepatitis B virus(DHBV).Methods Thirty ducks with congenital infection of DHBV,which were DHBV-DNA positive confirmed by polymerase chain reaction(PCR),were randomly divided into 5 groups: DHBV control group,high-,middle-,and low-dosage CPU Ⅱgroups(in the dose of 33.6,18.6 and 8.4 g-1?d-1,respectively),and Lamivudine group(20 mg?kg-1?d-1).The serum DHBV-DNA level of all ducks was detected by quantity real-time fluorescence PCR before and after medication.Results On the 7th,14th,21st,and 28th day of medication and on the 5th day of suspension of medication,the serum DHBV-DNA level in both of the high-and middle-dosage CPU Ⅱ groups was obviously lower than that before medication and than that in the DHBV control group(P

There are still differences in the surgical treatment of children with pulmonary atresia(PA-VSD) with ventricular septal defect. The high rate of postoperative complications and reoperation intervention is still a problem that plagues surgeons. There are few reports on the understanding of the anatomy and physiological functions of MAPCAs. This article systematically reviews and analyzes domestic and foreign literature, and reviews the anatomical classification, surgical management strategies and related complications of PA-VSD patients.

Objective To review the clinical experiences of modified Nuss procedure and technique for complicated pectus excavatum. Methods From September 2006 to October 2009,45 children (27 boys and18 girls), aged 3 - 16 years [mean (6.4 ± 3.5 )years] with complicated pectus excavatum underwent modified Nuss procedure. VATS was used in 6 cases. 3 patients associated with lung cyst were treated by open surgery and 1 case with ASD was treated by Hybrid procedure.Results The surgery was successfully performed in all patients. The mean operative time was 54 minutes and the average hospital stay was 7 days. Postoperative evaluation was"excellent"in 30 cases , "good"in 13, and"moderate"in 2. Conclusion Modified Nuss procedure is a safe and effective method for correction of complicated pectus excavatum.

Objective To evaluate the clinical value of fluorescence in situ hybridization (FISH) method for diagnosis of bladder urothelial carcinoma.Methods Urine samples from 81 patients suspected of having bladder urothelial carcinoma were collected for immediate urine cytology and FISH analysis.All patients underwent cystoscopy for identification of bladder lesions.Urine samples from 8 patients with benign disease of urinary system werealso analyzed by means of FISH and cytology.The sensitivity and specificity of FISH were compared with cytology.Results 81 subjects of bladder urothelial carcinoma were verified with pathology,which included 34 non-muscle invasive carcinoma,14 cases with muscle invasive carcinoma,42 cases with high-grade carcinoma,and 24 cases with low-grade carcinoma.Residual cases included 12 verified benign disease of urinary system,and to serve as controls with 8 patients with benign disease of urinary system.The sensitivities of FISH,cytology and cystoscopy were 72.8％,27.2％ and 97.5％.The sensitivity of FISH was superior to cytology,but inferior to cystoscopy.The specificity and diagnostic concordance rate of FISH and cytology were 85.0％,100.0％ and 75.2％,41.6％,respectively.Conclusion FISH analysis as a non-invasive method has good sensitivity and specificity for diagnosing bladder urothelial carcinoma.

Metabolic disorders, such as glucose and lipid, are likely to occur after renal transplantation, leading to graft dysfunction and reduced long-term survival. Trigonelline is a type of natural alkaloid with various biological activities, which can alleviate the metabolic disorders of glucose, lipid and other types, and relieve inflammatory reaction, oxidative stress and cell apoptosis of the kidney, thereby protecting the renal function. Therefore, trigonelline may be a potential drug to regulate metabolic disorders after renal transplantation. In this article, the role of trigonelline in metabolic disorders of glucose, lipid and other types, and its application prospect in renal transplantation were reviewed, aiming to provide reference for alleviating metabolic disorders after renal transplantation and improving the long-term survival of renal transplant recipients and transplanted kidneys.
