Objective To study the effects of Laurencia terpenoids(LET)on the levels of IL-6 and TNF-?in H_(22) mice.Methods 1.The content of total terpenoids in LET was detected by RP-HPLC.2.The mice were randomly divided into five groups:the model group,the LET groups(25,50,100mg?kg~(-1)?d~(-1)) and the Cyclophosphamide(CY) group,and transplant tumor model of hepatoma 22(H_(22)) was established.The next day four groups of animal(except the model group) were treated with different dosage of LET and CY(ig) and executed after 15 days.The tumors were weighed and the tumor inhibition rates were calculated.Furthermore the levels of IL-6 and TNF-?in serum were determined by RIA.Results In vivo, the increases of H_(22) tumor weight in LET groups were slower than that in model group.The tumor inhibition rates were 27.5%,34.9%and 41.4%correspondently.Mid and high-dose groups of LET could increase the levels of IL-6 and TNF-?.Conclusion LET could inhibit the increase of H_(22) tumor weight.The mechanism may be related to enhancing the level of cytokine including IL-6 and TNF-?.

Objective To investigate the incidence and risk factors of urinary incontinence of the adult women in two communities in Kunming so as to obtain basic epidemiological data,draw epidemiological regularity of adult women urinary incontinence in this two communities.Methods International Consultation on Inconvenience Questionnaire Short Form (ICQ-SF) survey was conducted among adult women Shuanglongqiao community and Zongshuying community during April 2012 to April 2013.Results (1) The prevalence rate of urinary incontinence among adult women was 16.84％.The constituent ratio of stress urinary incontinence was 42.6％,mainly with mild occurrence.Women over 41 years old were found with moderate and severe urinary incontinences.(2) The prevalence of urinary incontinence increased with age,especially the middle-aged and elderly women.The incidence was related to educational background,occupation,marriage and pregnancy status,and history of pelvic surgery (P＜ 0.05).Conclusion Urinary incontinence affects middle-aged and elderly women.There are differences of the prevalence of urinary incontinence among adult women with different nationality,occupation,educational background,marriage and pregnancy status,and history of pelvic surgery.

Objective To investigate the effect of baicalin on inflammatory factors and oxygen free radical metabolism in patients with traumatic shock.Methods 38 patients with traumatic shock were treated with baicalin 200mg intravenous injection when admitted to hospital.Before and 1 h after treatment,TNF-α,IL-6,IL-8,MDA and SOD were measured in blood.Results Compared with before treatment,TNF-,IL-6,IL-8,and MDA levels were decreased after treatment (t =7.32,6.12,20.21,16.10,all P ＜ 0.05),while SOD activity was significantly increased (t =1.69,P ＜ 0.01).Conclusion Baicalin could inhibit the production and release of inflammatory factors TNF-α,IL-6,IL-8 in patients with traumatic shock,reduce the damage of oxygen free radicals to the cells.Early treatment with baicalin had protective effect on patients with traumatic shock.

Cell-based therapy and regenerative medicine offer a paradigm shift in regard to various diseases causing tissue or organ damage.Recently,many authors have focused their atte(n)tion on adipose-derived mesenchymal stem cells (ADMSCs) for their capacity to differentiate into many cell lineages.Acute kidney injury (AKI),as a common emergency,has high morbidity rate and relatively limited treatment.This review will summarize the mechanism of ADMSCs in treatment of acute kidney injury,and hope to lay a foundation for future research.

Objective:To study the effects of the modified sandblasting surface treatment on the bone implant interfacial shear strength of titanium dental implant.Methods:Titanium implants with smooth surface or modified sandblasted surface were inserted into femoral medialis condyli of dogs at random.The samples of implant with surrounding bone tissue were prepared in blockes and the shear strength of the interface was measured with Instron electronic pull out tester 2,4 and 12 weeks after operation. The modified sandblasted surface of the implant was observed with SEM and X ray spectroscopy 12 weeks after operation.Results:2 and 12 weeks after implantation the shear strength(MPa) between bone tissue and implants with modified sandblasted surface was 4.28?0.88 and 7.54?0.34 respectively,that between bone tissue and implants with smooth surface 0.09?0.08 and 1.43?0.46 respectively.SEM and X ray spectroscopy observation revealed that the most parts of the sandblasted surface of the implants were covered by bone tissue and bone matrix deposited into the pores created by the acid etching.Conclusion:The rough surface of titanium dental implant created by the modified sandblasting surface treatment can enhance the shear strength between bone tissue and implant.

Objective To study the effect of angiotensin converting enzyme inhibitory peptides (ACEIP) on blood pressure of spontaneously hypertensive rats.Methods One hundred and four spontaneously hypertensive rats(SHR) were randomized to thirteen groups (n= 8,each group) and received one of following approaches:saline,captopril (10 mg/kg),low-dose (200 ?g/kg),medium-dose(400 ?g/kg) and high-dose (800 ?g/kg) of the three ACEIPs:VLPVP,KVLPVP,VLPVPR respectively.Thirty-two WKY rats were randomized to 4 groups(n=8 in each group),VLPVP,KVLPVP,VLPVPR (800 ?g/kg by gavage) and saline were administrated.The systolic blood pressure was measured before and after the administration of ACEIP.Results Compared with the control group,medium-dose and high-dose of VLPVP,KVLPVP and VLPVPR reduce blood pressure in hypertensive rats and the effect can last for above 6 hours [decline of blood pressure:high-dose:(40.9?15.7),(38.0?21.3) and (43.2?12.6) mmHg;medium-dose:(28.3?23.0),(24.7?21.5) and (26.2?9.9);control:(8.5?5.1),(6.2?4.1) and (7.1?5.5)mmHg;all P0.05].Conclusion Recombinant ACEIP acutely reduce high blood pressure in SHR,the antihypertensive effects persist for at least 6 hours,with no effect on normotensive WKY rats.

Objective To investigate the effects of atorvastatin on cardiovascular remodeling in renovascular hypertensive rats. Methods The 2-kindey,1-clip hypertensive rats(2K1C,Goldblatt) were prepared with Sprague-Dawley rat.SD rats were randomly divided into three groups: normal control rats,hypertensive rats and hypertensive rats treated with atorvastatin(2 mg?kg~(-1)?d~(-1)).After 6 weeks treatment,systolic blood pressure(SBP) was measured using the tail-cuff method.The plasma concentration of angiotensin Ⅱ and renin activity were determined by radioimmunoassay.The heart weight,the ratio of left ventricular weight to body weight were calculated.Results The plasma concentration of angiotensin Ⅱ((106.4?7.8)ng/L) and renin activity((20.6?2.4) ng/L)were significantly increaed in hypertensive rats compared with normal rats((72.3?5.4) ng/L and(12.5?3.7) ng/L)(P

Objective To investigate the clinical value of bone metabolism biochemical marker N-MID,TP1NP and beta-CTx combined with whole body bone scintigraphy in early diagnosis of bone metastasis of tumor.Methods The concentration of the 3 markers were measured by the electrochemical luminescence analysis method in 30 cases of healthy control group and 210 cases of patients with malignant tumor,which were divided into non bone metastasis group(45 cases) and bone metastasis group(165 cases).The bone metastasis group were divided into 4 grades(0-grade Ⅲ) by Soloway classification according to whole body bone imaging.Results The levels of serum N-MID,TP1NP and beta-CTx in 165 malignant tumor patients with bone metastasis were significantly higher than in 45 malignant tumor patients with bone metastasis and in 30 healthy control group,the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).With the increase of the number of metastatic lesions in the bone metastasis group,the serum levels of N-MID,TP1NP,and beta-CTx were increased gradually,and they were positively correlated with the progression of the disease.According to the analysis of ROC curve,the cut-off value,sensitivity and specificity in the diagnosis of tumor bone metastasis were 17.59 ng/mL,70.3％,88.9％ for serum N-MID,43.04 ng/mL,78.2％,95.6％ for TP1NP,and 0.48 ng/mL,73.9％,93.3％ for beta-CTx.Under the ROC curve(AUC) was 0.831 for serum N-MID,0.890 for TP1NP,and 0.869 for beta-CTx.The sensitivity and specificity of three bone metabolic markers in the diagnosis of bone metastasis of malignant tumor were significantly higher.Conclusion Bone metabolism biochemical markers:Serum N-MID,TP1NP and beta-CTx for diagnosis of bone metastasis of malignant tumor are sensitive,accurate and simple,which can significantly improve the efficiency of diagnosis of bone metastasis,and can be combined with whole-body bone scintigraphy in early diagnosis of bone metastasis with malignant tumor.

Objective To establish a model of rat orthotopic liver transplantation and investigate the relationship among cold preservation time, activation of nuclear transcription factor-κB (NF-κB) and donor preservation injury after liver transplantation. Methods Orthotopic liver transplantation was performed in Wistar rats which were randomly divided into the following groups according to the different duration of liver cold storage in UW solution: group A (sham operation, n=10), group B NF-κB in liver before and after transplantation was measured by electrophoretic mobility shift assays; protein expression of tumor necrosis factor-alpha (TNF-α) and interleukin-1 beta (IL-1β) in the liver was measured by immunohistochemistry; the serum TNFα and IL-1β, alanine aminotransferase (ALT), aspartate aminotransferase (AST) and hepatic cell apoptosis were examined. Results With extended cold storage duration, the activity of NF-κB in the donor liver increased (P<0.05, group D vs. groups A, B and C). TNF-α and IL-1β levels also increased (P<0.05, group D vs. groups A, B and C). Donor liver reperfusion injury was gradually aggravated with the prolonging of graft cold preservation. Both the serum TNF-α and IL-1β levels increased highly (P<0.05 group A vs. groups B, C and D),NF-κB in the liver significantly increased (P<0.05, group A vs. groups D, B and C) with gradual prolonging of graft cold preservation time. The serum ALT and AST level and apoptosis index level elevated greatly (P<0.05, group A vs. groups D, B and C). Conclusion NF-κB of donor liver was activated inductively in cold preservation phase and activated explosively in reperfusion phase. The longer cold preservation time was, the higher NF-κB level in donor liver became. NF-κB led to the expression of TNF-α and IL-1β in donor liver. Inflammatory factors are one of the most important mechanisms for the donor liver injury after liver transplantation.

Objective To study the effects of light at different intensities and an enriched environment (EE) on rats' level of voluntary exercise,and to explore the resulting benefits.Methods Thirty male SpragueDawley rats were tested successively under 4 different experimental conditions:EE + strong light,EE + dim light,open-field environment (OFE)+ strong light and OFE + dim light.Each rat's path in the different conditions was recorded using an automated tracking system.Distance moved (m),velocity (m/s),mobile duration (s),mobile frequency,moving duration (s) and moving frequency were recorded over a one-hour period. ResultsThe EE rats were significantly more active than the OFE rats in both strong and dim light.All rats were more mobile under dim light than under strong light.Conclusion Environment and light intensity are independent factors affecting rats' voluntary exercise levels,and they can exert their influence in synergy.
