1.Expression of GLT-1 in rats hippocampus of early-onset sub-clinical seizures following acute cerebral infarction
Chinese Journal of Neurology 2005;0(09):-
Objective To explore the mechanism of early-onset sub-clinical seizures following acute cerebral infarction. Methods Right middle cerebral artery occlusion (MCAO) rats models were made by threads methods. Sub-clinical seizures were detected with recording apparatus at the same time. Glial glutamate transporter-1 (GLT-1) were detected by immunohistochemical method in rats hippocampus. Results Sub-clinical seizures occurred in 27.4% rats following MCAO. The GLT-1 expressions in CA_1 and CA_3 regions were lower in sub-clinical seizure group[(344.5?35.0)?m~2 and (360.4?13.5)?m~2 respectively] than those in the controls[(447.0?22.8)?m~2 in CA_1 region and (402.3?28.5)?m~2 in CA_3 region]. But there were not significant differences of GLT-1 immunoreactivities in dentate gyrus between the two groups above. Conclusion Early-onset sub-clinical seizures occur following the acute MCAO in rats, which should be related to the decreased expression of GLT-1 in CA_1 and CA_3 of hippocampus.

Objective:To explore protective action of ultramicro-powder of Rhizoma Gastrodiae on nerves in the rat of Cerebral ischemia- reperfusion injury. Methods:The local ischemia-reperfusion injury at model was established by cerebral ischemia for 2 hours and reperfusion for 24 hours.HE staining,2,3,5-triphenytetrazolium(TTC)staining,immunohistochemical methods were respectively used to investigate pathological changes of brain slices, the size of cerebral infarction and nervous cell apoptotic relative proteins Bcl-2,Bax expression after treatment with ultramicro-powder of Rhizoma Gastrodiae.Results:(1)Ultramicro-powder of Rhizoma Gastrodiae could reduce the size of cerebral infarction. When the low, middle and high dose groups were compared with the ischemia group there were significant differences(P

OBJECTIVE: The aim of this study was to find if systemic family therapy (SFT) does work in anxiety and depression with epilepsy in adolescents (ADAE). METHODS: 104 adolescents with epilepsy, aged 13-20 years old, were included from December 2009 to December 2010, the enrolled patients were with anxiety [Hamilton Anxiety Scale (HAMA) score ≥14 points] or depression [Hamilton Depression Scale (HAMD) score ≥20 points]. The patients were randomly divided into the control group (n=52) treated with antiepileptic drugs (AED) and the intervention group (n=52) undergone Systemic Family Therapy (SFT) as well as AED. The AED improvements, anxiety and depression scores, Social Support Rating Scale (SSRS), Family Assessment Device (FAD) and scale of systemic family dynamics (SSFD) were observed after 3-month treatment. RESULTS: The frequencies of epileptic seizures in intervention group was decreased much more significantly than the control group (4.22±3.54 times/month vs. 6.20±5.86 times/month, p=0.04); and the scores of anxiety (9.52±6.28 points vs. 13.48±8.47 points, p=0.01) and depression (13.86±9.17 points vs. 18.89±8.73 points, p=0.02) were significantly decreased than the control group; meanwhile, the family dynamics and family functions were significantly improved, and the social support was also increased (p<0.05). CONCLUSION: SFT combined with AEDs had better efficacies than AEDs alone, not only the frequency of epileptic seizures was decreased, but also the patients' anxiety and depression were improved, and the family dynamics, family functions and social support were improved.

Glioma is the most common type of cancer in the brain and central nervous system, mainly originated from glioma cells or neuronal cells. It is characterized by high prevalence, recurrence rate and mortality.Among aggressive brain tumors, the incidence of glioma is the highest.Long non-coding RNA(lncRNA)is one of the most popular non-coding RNAs in tumor research. It has a variety of biological functions and regulates gene expression at the transcription,post-transcription and genetic levels. It was found that lncRNA was abnormally expressed in cancer patients, and abnormally expressed lncRNA was also found in glioma.lncRNA regulates the occurrence and development of gliomas through different signaling pathways, and affects the heterogeneity and invasiveness of gliomas through the glycolytic pathway. In addition,immune-related lncRNAs are valuable in evaluating the diagnosis, treatment and prognosis of gliomas. In this article, the role of lncRNA in glioma will be reviewed from three aspects including regulation of signaling pathway, glycolytic pathway and immunoregulation.

Glioma is a malignant tumor with extremely high rates of recurrence. Clinically ,with the prolongation of the use of chemotherapy drugs ,the drug resistance of glioma cells to chemotherapy drugs is also increasing ,which eventually leads to poor prognosis and shortens overall survival time of patients. It is well known that the development of drug resistance involves multiple mechanisms, including drug transport metabolism ,apoptosis,DNA damage repair ,autophagy, variation of cancer stem cells and epithelial mesenchymal transition. Abnormal expression of circular RNA (circRNA),a novel RNA molecule with unique stability and tissue specificity ,has been shown by more and more evidence to play a crucial regulatory role in the development of drug resistance in glioma. This paper systematically reviews the mechanism of multiple drug resistance in glioma ,and focuses on the role and molecular mechanism of circRNA regulating temozolomide-resistance in glioma. At the same time ,the potential function of circRNA as a new therapeutic target is prospected ,in order to provide an objective theoretical basis for the development of new therapeutic methods.
