China Pharmacy 2017;28(12):1620-1622
OBJECTIVE:To observe therapeutic efficacy and safety of Kouyanqing granules for chronic periodontitis and it effects on inflammatory cytokine. METHODS:110 patients with chronic periodontitis were divided into control group(55 cases)and observa-tion group(55 cases). Control group accepted the periodontal basic treatment as oral hygiene instruction, supragingival scaling,subgin-gival scaling and root planning. Observation group was additionally given Kouyanqing granules 20 g orally, twice a day,on the basis of control group. Both groups were treated for 4 weeks. Clinical efficacies of 2 groups were observed as well as the levels of plaque in-dex(PLI),gingival index(GI),probing depth(PD),clinical attachment level(CAL),IL-17,IL-21,and the occurrence of ADR. RE-SULTS:Both groups completed the treatment, and no patient lost to follow up. Total response rate of observation group was significant-ly higher than that of control group, with statistical significance(P<0.05). After treatment, the levels of PLI,GI,PD,CAL,IL-17 and IL-21 in 2 groups were significantly lower than before, and the observation group was significantly lower than the control group, with statistical significance(P<0.05). There was no statistical significance in the incidence of ADR between 2 groups(P>0.05). CONCLUSIONS:Based on routine treatment,Kouyanqing granules show significant therapeutic efficacy for chronic periodontitis, can significantly improve periodontal symptom and reduce inflammatory factor level, but do not increase the incidence of ADR.

Chinese Journal of Rehabilitation Theory and Practice 2015;21(3):344-347
Objective To investigate the effect of electroacupuncture on the rehabilitation of rheumatoid arthritis (RA) and level of nuclear factor-κB (NF-κB), tumor necrosis factor-α (TNF-α) and interleukin 1β (IL-1β). Methods 140 cases of RA meeting the inclusion criteria were divided into control group and observation group equally according to therapeutic schemes. All the patients accepted medicine and rehabilitation training, while the observation group accepted electroacupuncture in addition. The effective rate and the symptoms were observed, the serum level of rheumatoid factor (RF), antistreptolysin O antibody (ASO), C-reactive protein (CRP), NF-κB, TNF-α and IL-1β were tested before and after treatment. Results The effective rate was 92.8% in the observation group, which was significantly more than that of 80.0% in the control group (P<0.05). The joint pain index, joint tenderness index and joint swollenness index reduced in the observation group compared with those in the control group (P<0.05), as well as the serum level of RF, ASO, CRP, NF-κB, TNF-α and IL-1β (P< 0.05). Conclusion Electroacupuncture may improve the effects of rehabilitation training for RA and inhibit the inflammation, which may associate with the inhibition of activation of NF-κB.
7.Situation of integrative medicine in China: results from a national survey in 2004.
Chinese journal of integrative medicine 2006;12(3):161-165
Integrative medicine (IM), usually called integrated traditional and Western medicine in China, which came into being in the 1950s as a new form of medicine, although is now developing quickly, little is known about its status and existing problems. So a national survey in China was conducted through questionnaire in 2004 by Chinese Association of Integrative Medicine with the support of State Administration of Traditional Chinese Medicine (SATCM). The results show that, of all the medical professionals investigated in this survey, 91.21% and 93.52% respondents respectively favored IM as the best diagnostic and therapeutic method. Of all the patients who once went through TCM, Western medicine (WM) and IM therapies, 68.85%, 65.45% and 71.2% respondents respectively most appreciated IM, IM hospitals and IM therapeutic treatments. Most of the 6 595 respondents held that the optimal scientific research strategy in TCM should be integrating modern medical research method (n = 2 380) or modern scientific method (n = 2 920). However, many hospitals exposed the problems in the aspects of governmental supports and funding supports, human resources, and domestic or international academic activities. These results indicated that IM is the patients' social needs and doctors' aspiration in China. For further development of IM, the enhancement of scientific research construction and assistance by policies and finance from the government and other institutions are urgently needed in China.

Objective To study the accuracy and the clinical significance of sentinel lymph node biopsy (SLNB)after neoadjuvant chemotherapy for breast cancer. Methods A total of 90 patients with StageⅡorⅢbreast cancer and negative axillary node after neoadjuvant chemotherapy were enrolled in the study.Mapping proce- dure and SLNB were performed using methylene blue injected at the site of the primary breast cancer, followed by the axillary lymph node dissection. Results The sentinel lymph node(SLN)was successfully identified in 82 out of 90 patients(91.1%).The number of sentinel harvested nodes ranged from 1 to 4(average 1.6).The accuracy of SLNB to predict the axillary lymph node status was 93.9 %(77/82),the sensitivity, positive predictive value,nega- tive predictive value and false negative rate were 87.5 %(40/45),100 %,88.1% and 11.1%(5/45),respectively. The SLN identification rate tended to be higher and false negative rate tended to be lower in patients with T2 prima- ry tumor before neoadjuvant chemotherapy. Conclusion Our study indicated that SLNB after neoadjuvant chemotherapy in patients with StageⅡorⅢbreast cancer had a similar effect as SLNB in non-neoadjuvant studies. SLNB was considered to be able to accurately predict the axillary lymph node status in patients with T2 primary tu- mor before neoadjuvant chemotherapy.

Objective To investigate the clinical effects of the Viscoat viscoelastic combined with soft corneal contact lens for central corneal perforation. Methods Six cases were collected and treated with corneal local debridement of which diameter were less than 2.0 mm.Six cases received Viscoat viscoelastic injection into their anterior chamber. And then soft corneal contact lens were worn. The curative effect indicators such as patients' symptom, visual acuity, slit lamp examination, intraocular pressure, confocal microscope and corneal endothelial cell counts were recorded in the follow-up periods. Results All the cases were healed with the recovery time of 1 month to 2 months; After treatment, the best corrected visual acuity of patients were increased to 0.6-0.8 and average corneal endothelial cell count was (3415.5 ±279.5)mm-2.No obvious scar was left in the cornea and no serious complicatious occurred during treatment. Conclusion For traumatic corneal central perforation with diameter is 2.0 mm or less can be treated with Viscoat viscoelastic combined with soft corneal contact lens. This therapy is worthy of popularize since it's satisfied prognosis and less economic burden.
10.Pondering on syndrome differentiation of diseases.
Chinese Journal of Integrated Traditional and Western Medicine 2005;25(9):843-845
The disease classification in Western medicine and syndrome differentiation in traditional Chinese medicine were comparatively analyzed in this paper. It is proposed that the research on syndrome differentiation of disease classification is one of the cut-in points in integrative medicine research, and indicated that the research may be deepened by way of TCM syndrome classification based on diagnosis and on therapeutic efficacy.
