Objective To assess the advantages and disadvantages of urine drainage by double-J ureteral stent or by percutaneous indwelling stent for pyeloplasty. Methods A total of 62 patients who had undergone pyeloplasty (6 patients had undergone operation on both sides) were reviewed.These patients had 68 sides of drainage during operation.The therapeutic effects,relevant complications and recoveries of 31 sides with internal stent and 37 with external stent for pyeloplasty were analyzed retrospectively. Objective To investigate the clinical value of medical image-three dimensional visible system (MI-3DVS) in percutaneous transhepatic cholangioscopy lithotripsy (PTCSL) for the treatment of hepatolithiasis.Methods The clinical data of 66 patients with hepatolithiasis (55 were from the First People's Hospital of Shunde City and 11 were from the Zhujiang Hospital) were retrospectively analyzed.The images of computed tomography were three-dimensionally reconstructed with MI-3DVS.The location,number,size,shape of the stones were figured out,and the operation strategies of PTCSL were designed according to the types of the disease.The clinical value of MI-3DVS was evaluated according to the operation results and postoperative recovery of patients.All the patients were followed up via telephone or out-patient re-examination.Results Liver,biliary system,stones and blood vessels were three-dimensionally reconstructed with the MI-3 DVS,and the size,number,shape,location of the stones and location,degree,length of the biliary stricture and its anatomical relationship with adjacent blood vessels were clearly displayed.The coincidence rate of planned and actual operations was 95.5％ (63/66).The mean operation time,intraoperative blood loss,rate of stone clearance,complication rate and duration of hospital stay of 63 patients were (117 ± 9) minutes,(18 ± 1) ml,92.4％ (61/66),6.1％ (4/66) and (15 ± 4) days,respectively.All the patients were followed up till September 2012,the median survival time was 16 months (range,1-69 months),and the recurrence rate of hepatolithiasis was 9.1％ (6/66).One patient died of tumor metastasis and multi-organ dysfunction syndrome postoperatively.Conclusion MI-3DVS could effectively improve the safety and efficiency of PTCSL for patients with hepatolithiasis.

Objective To study the relationship of bladder residual urine volume and renal function and urinary tract infection in patients with benign prostatic hyperplasia(BPH). Methods Eighty-one BPH eases from September 2005 to September 2008 were studied retrospectively. All the cases were divided into group A (53 cases, the residual urine volume <60 ml), group B (18 cases, the residual urine volume 60-200 ml),and group C (10 cases, the residual urine volume 200 ml). Blood urea nitrogen(BUN), serum ereatinine (Cr) and urine bacterial culture were observed. Results The BUN and serum Cr in group A, B and C were (5.90 ± 3.01) mmol/L, (90.13 ± 25.08)μmol/L, (7.85±3.53) mmol/L, (128.36 ±30.25) μmol/L and (10.57 ± 4.01)mmol/L, (152.11 ± 36.68) μmol/L, respectively. The BUN and serum Cr in group C were higher than those in group A and B (P < 0.01 or < 0.05). And there was significant difference between group A and group B (P< 0.05). The incidence of urinary tract infection in group A ,B and C was 28.3%(15/53), 44.4%(8/18), 50.0%(5/10), respectively. There was significant difference between group A and group B, C (P < 0.05). But there was no significant difference between group B and group C (P 0.05). Eacherichia was the main bacteria in urinary tract infection. Conclusion The increase of bladder residual urine volume in patients with BPH enhances renal failure and urinary tract infection.

Objective To establish a cerebral hemorrhage model in rats by local injection of type Ⅳcollagenase, and explore the factors affecting the speed and volume of hematoma formation Methods A total of 150 healthy male Wistar rats weighing from 200 to 250 g were randomly divided into 3 groups, control, collagenase, and collagenase/heparin groups Animals in those groups received injection of saline, collagenase (0 2 U/?l), and collagenase (same dose) and heparin (2 U/?l) with different volume respectively at the caudate nucleus The volume of the hematoma in the rats ( n =6 at each time point) was observed 6, 12, and 24 h, and 3, 7d after the injection Results Permeation of blood was found in 12 h after injection in control group Hematoma about 3 mm in diameter was found in 3 d after injection in collagenase group, while in collagenase/heparin group, it was found in 24 h Conclusion Cerebral hemorrhage model established by local injection of collagenase/heparin in saline solution is ideal and reliable, and the size of hematoma is in correlation with the volume of solutions injected into the brain

An on-line solid phase extraction-high performance liquid chromatography ( SPE-HPLC ) system was applied in the plasma pharmacokinetic study of highly active anti-cancer compound tyrosine kinase inhibitors (TEB-415) in mouse. The on-line SPE-HPLC method associated with Ultimate3000 system which was applied to the determination of the blood drug level of TEB-415 in mouse plasma. C18 column ( Venusil MP, 150 mm × 4. 6 mm, 5μm) was used as analytical column and the mobile phase consisted of acetonitrile-5 mmol/L monopotassium phosphate buffer ( pH 3 . 5 ) at a flow rate of 1 . 0 mL/min was used as the isocratic elution. An MF Ph-1 column (10 mm×4 mm, 5 μm) was used as on-line SPE column, and water and water-acetonitrile were used as the washing solvent and elution solvent respectively. The detection wavelength was set at 262 nm. The pharmacokinetic parameters were calculated by WinNonlin 5. 2 software. The linear range of the calibration curve was between 100 and 20000 μg/L, and the limit of qualification was 20 μg/L. The extraction recovery was between 90 . 5% and 94 . 6%. The RSD of intra-day and inter-day precision was less than 3. 5%. The accuracy of short-term stability, freeze-thaw stability and long-term stability were between 91. 49% and 101. 96%. After oral medication, the mean peak time (Tmax) of TEB-415 in mice was 5. 29 h, and the mean maximum concentration ( Cmax) was 3403μg/L. The area under the curve ( AUC) of TEB-415 was 24600 μg/L·h. This drug's mean half-life was 3. 84 h, and its mean retention time (MRT) was 6. 56 h. These parameters suggested that TEB-415 had appropriate rate of absorption and elimination with preferable bioavailability.

Objective To assess iron bioavailability of three iron-biofortified maizes using an in vitro digestion/ Caco-2 cell culture model. Method Three maize varieties rich in iron (Zhongtie 2, 3 and 4) and two maize varieties with lower content of iron (Zhengda 818 and 619) were pulverized, and the content of iron and phosphorus in each maize variety was measured. After digestion the iron bioavailability per g food was determined by using Caco-2 cell ferritin formation per mg cell protein as indicator. Results The iron content (33.250 mg/kg), iron bioavailability and the iron bioavailability per g food of Zhongtie 2 maize was the highest among all varieties, but its phosphorus content was lower. The maize varieties with the next higher iron bioavailability were Zhongtie 3 and Zhengda 818, and the lowest was Zhengda 619. Conclusion Zhongtie 2 maize contained the hightest content and bioavailability of iron,so it was optimal to use for the following human trials.

Objective: To investigate the compliance of smoking cessation and the effect of smoking status on long-term clinical prognosis in male patients with acute coronary syndrome (ACS) after drug-eluting stent (DES) therapy. Methods: A total of 656 ACS patients after DES therapy were studied, according to the post-operative smoking status, the patients were divided into 3 groups: Non-smoking group,n=226, Quit smoking group,n=283 and Persistent smoking group, n=147. The patients were followed-up for the average of 27 months, the major adverse cardio-/cerebral-vascular events (MACCE) were recorded in detail, and the effect of smoking status for MACCE occurrence were evaluated by multivariable Cox regression analysis. Results: The pre-operative smoking rate was 65.5% (430/656) of patients and post-operative smoking rate was 22.4% (147/656). Compared with Non-smoking group and Quit smoking group, the patients in Persistent smoking group had the younger age (P<0.001), more patients with abnormal blood lipids (P=0.005) and having lower level of education (P<0.001). The all cause death rates in Non-smoking group, Quit smoking group and Persistent smoking group were at 1.8%, 1.1% and 6.1% respectively,P=0.004; the MACCE occurrence rates were at 7.1%, 5.3% and 15.0% respectively,P=0.002. Multivariable Cox regression analysis showed that post-operative smoking was the independent risk factor for MACCE occurrence, HR =1.404, 95% CI (1.206-1.793),P=0.008. Conclusion: Smoking is the independent risk factor for MACCE occurrence in male ACS patients after DES therapy.

Objective To investigate the best injection position and curative effect of ultrasound-guided thrombin injection (UGTI)on femoral pseudoaneurysm (FPA).Methods Review the data of FPA cases in the neurology department of southwest hospital from January 2010 to June 2015.Detailed clinical information of the patients,including the curative effect of local compression therapy,the position,meth-od,dosage and curative effect of ultrasound-guided thrombin injection were collected and analyzed.Results From January 2010 to June 2015,43 cases (1.20%)of FPA were diagnosed in 3573 patients undergoing cerebrovascular interventional operation.Local compression therapy was effective in 11 of 43 FPA patients.The remaining 32 patients who had no response to local compression therapy were treated by UGTI,and the average dosage of thrombin was (30 ±12)IU.All FPA were blocked successfully within 1 minute and without any distal em-bolism events after the first UGTI attempt.No relapse and complications occurred during the follow-up of 5 to 70 months,averagely (38.69 ± 20.79)months.Conclusion UGTI is effective for treatment of FPA who had no response to local compression therapy.Thrombin injection at position far away from the blood flow direction of pseudoaneurysm neck crevasse with ultrasound-guided could bring about highe success rate, less amount of thrombin,and less complications.

OBJECTIVETo evaluate the clinical efficacy of modified Daotan Decoction (DD) combining low dosage of risperidone in treating chronic schizophrenia patients of phlegm-dampness blockage type, and compare with patients treated with risperidone alone.

METHODSSixty-five inpatients were randomly assigned to two groups, the treatment group (34 cases) treated with DD (with conventional dosage) one dose per day and risperidone 3.16 +/- 0.73 mg/d, and the control group (31 cases) treated with risperidone 5.11 +/- 1.27 mg/d alone, the course for both groups was 8 weeks. The effect was evaluated with positive and negative syndrome scale (PANSS), and the adverse reaction was assessed with treatment emergent symptom scale (TESS).

RESULTSThere was no significant difference in the overall efficacy between the two groups, but the improvement of the negative symptoms, illness provocation and general psychopathologic condition was significantly better in the treatment group than that in the control group respectively (P < 0.05). Moreover, the adverse reaction was milder and less in the former than that in the latter.

CONCLUSIONThe treatment of DD combined with low dosage of risperidone is effective on chronic schizophrenia and shows less adverse reaction.
