1.Health education and medical behavior intervention among healthcare providers who manage diarrhea, rickets.pneumonia, and nutritional anemia in urban children
Chinese Journal of General Practitioners 2009;8(7):490-492
From October 2006 to December 2008,170 medical professionals(120 from a provincial hospital, and 50 from 10 district hospitals or hygiene stations),and 400 baby watchers who took care of children(aged<3 years)with diarrhea, rickets, pneumonia,or nutritional anemia were randomly assigned to reeeive health education or medical behavior intervention. The results showed that the basic knowledge on prevention and treatment of diarrhea, rickets, pneumonia,or nutritional anemia wad improved, and oral rehydration solution utility rate was significantly increased(P<0.05 or P<0.01).The rate of breast feeding was higher, and the use of auxiliary food became more proper and timely. The use of antibiotics decreased. The baby watchers got more suggestions, and their qualification rate of medical knowledge and disease.related treatment behaviors were improved(all P<0.01). Nerwork-based health education and medical behavior intervention may have significant effects on healthcare providers who look after urban children with diarrhea, rickets, pneumonia,or nutritional anemia.
2.Postconcussional syndrome and the development of its objective assessment techniques
Chinese Journal of Forensic Medicine 1987;0(03):-
The diagnosis of post-concussion symptoms (PCS) has been a controversial issue because of that its pathogenesis is often involved in both neural damage and psychosocial factors. Recent researches have examined the diagnostic and evaluating value of several available methods or tools, including clinical interview, conventional CT and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), neuropsychologic testing and neurochemical test. In mild traumatic brain injury (MTBI), there exist diffusive damages to white matter distributed particularly near the gray matter-white matter boundary and in the long white-matter tracts in midline structures. The conventional imaging techniques are unable to detect any positive evidence due to the diffusive nature of these injuries. This paper is to review epidemiologic study, diagnostic criteria and relevant disputes, conventional diagnostic strategy and new MRI techniques, and then evaluate the application and prospective value of them in the diagnosis and rating of PCS and MTBI. Non-invasively quantitative assessments of modern brain imaging technique may be developed to sensitive and promising tools in the diagnosis and forensic evaluation of PCS.
3.Advances in the diagnosis of periprosthetic joint infection
Journal of Medical Postgraduates 2015;(9):995-1000
As one of the most catastrophic complications, prosthetic joint infection remains one of the most stubborn medical problems. However, the biomarkers and laboratory tests commonly used often exhibit either a low sensitivity or a low specificity, which makes it still difficult to diagnose. Therefore, we summarize a number of recent new developments home and abroad, and overview from the aspects of serological markers, synovial fluid markers, radionuclide imaging methods, preoperative periprosthetic tissue biopsy, in-traoperative periprosthetic tissue culture, histological analysis of periprosthetic tissue and new molecular technology.

Objective To explore the relationship between osteoporosis and chronic vascular complications in elderly male patients with type 2 diabetes and to evaluate its related risk factors. Methods A retrospective study was conducted in 428 elderly type 2 diabetic patients. The bone mineral density (BMD) of lumbar spines (L2 ~L4),femoral neck,Ward's triangle were measured by dual X-ray absorptiometry, and chronic vascular complications in patients were tested. The correlation between BMD and chronic vascular complications was analyzed. Results Diabetic course was longer in osteoporosis group than in non-osteoporosis group (P<0.05).Levels of fasting blood glucose (FBG) and postprandial blood glucose (PBG) were significantly higher in osteoporosis group than in non-osteoporosis group (P< 0.05).The incidences of diabetic nephropathy, diabetic retinopathy, diabetic neuropathy and hypertension were higher in osteoporosis group than in non-osteoporosis group (59.8% vs.12.0%,41.8% vs.22.3%,33.6% vs.24.5%,and 35.7% vs.26.1%,respectively,all P<0.05).Logistic analysis showed that diabetic course,FBG and diabetic nephropathy were correlated with diabetic osteoporosis (OR =1.055,1.168,7.401,95% CI:1.015-1.096,1.073-1.273,4.303-12.727,P=0.007,0.001,0.001).Conclusions Osteoporosis has a close relationship with diabetic microvascular complications in elderly diabetic patients.Diabetic nephropathy plays an important role in the development of diabetic osteoporosis. It is helpful for osteoporosis prevention to early monitor and intervene on microvascular complications index such as urinary albumin in elderly patients with type 2 diabetes.

Journal of Environment and Health 2000;17(6):338-340
[Objective] To explore more scientific and reasonable methods for testing the effectiveness of indoorair purifying sets, so as to obtain scientific and constant experimental data from every laboratories. [Methods] Theindoor air purifying sets were classified on the basis of their working mechanisms. Several kinds of current popularmethods for testing the purifying effectiveness and their characters were compared each other and analyzed. The in-fluencing factors and limited conditions of 3 determining models under special conditions established on the basis ofbalance model of pollutants release were explored and studied. [Results] Several current popular methods for testingthe purifying effectiveness were crude, which couldn't accurately reflact the purifying effectiveness of tested indoorair purifying sets. To ensure the experimental operation simple and strict and to obtain scientific testing data, the ex-perimental process should be controlled and transfered to a model suitable for simple volatile matter or other modelseasily operated under the control of its influencing factors. [Conclusion]The establishments of accurate testing meth-ods and accurate expressions of testing results were the sufficient and essential conditions for accurate evaluation ontesting objectives.

Objective To explore endoscopic diagnosis, treatment, pathological features and prognosis of gastrointestinal carcinoid tumors. Methods Retrospective analysis of 72 cases of gastrointestinal carcinoid tumors which were endoscopically diagnosed, treated, pathologically confirmed and followed up from July 2004 to July 2010 in Shanxi Provincial People' s Hospital.Common endoscopic diagnosis, endoscopic ultrasound(EUS)diagnosis, pathological features, treatment and prognosis were summarized. Results Twenty six cases of upper gastrointestinal carcinoid tumors and 46 cases of lower gastrointestinal carcinoid tumors were diagnosed and followed up.A total of 65 cases were single carcinoid and 7 were multiple carciniods.Tumors were mostly yellowish hard nodules with limited range of movement.EUS showed uneven hypoechoic nodules in the submucosal layer.Fifty-one cases of single carcinoid tumor were successfully treated with endoscopic mucosal resection(EMR)or endoscopic submucosal dissection(ESD)and the cure rate was 96.2%(51/53).Three cases of multiple carciniods were cured with EMR and the cure rate was 3/7.There was no tumor recurrence after treatment during follow-up.Conclusions Endoscopy examination is an important way to detect early carcinoid tumors.Endoscopic ultrasound probe can further clarify source and level of the lesion, and provide the basis for the endoscopic therapy.EMR and ESD are the preferred radical treatment for early carcinoid tumors.

Development and metastasis of NSCLC are closely related to angiogenesis.Several distinct groups of vascular-targeted therapies have evolved:anti-VEGF monoclonal antibody, small molecules inhibitors, vascular disrupting agents, endothelial cell growth inhibitors,et al.Antiangiogenic treatment could make longer survival than conventional treatment. The strategy of anti-angiogenic drugs combined conventional treatment is being studied.
