1.The occurrence rate of visuospatial hemi-neglect of stroke patients examined with behavioural inattention test
Chinese Journal of Rehabilitation Theory and Practice 2003;9(10):589-590
ObjectiveTo examine the occurrence rate of visuospatial hemi-neglect of patients with cerebral injury with behavioural inattention test (BIT) (Japanese version),and assess the validity of the BIT test.Methods22 subjects (16 with right hemispheric damage and 6 with left hemispheric damage) were tested with BIT. ResultsThe rate of visuospatial hemi-neglect in 22 patients with hemispheric damage was 36.4% (8 cases) , and that rate in 16 patients with right hemispheric damage was 31.3% (5 cases), in 6 patients with left hemispheric damage was 50% (3 cases).ConclusionThe occurrence rate of visuospatial hemi-neglect appears to be independent from male or female, age, course of disease and education level of study subjects.
2.Study of the correlation among behavioral inattention tests of stroke patients
Chinese Journal of Rehabilitation Theory and Practice 2003;9(10):591-592
ObjectiveTo study the correlation among the behavioral inattention tests (BIT) in stroke patients, understand the correlation between usual test and activity test and the correlations among different items.Methods22 stroke patients were tested with BIT, and calculating the correlations among BIT items by SPSS statistic method and finding out their common factors.ResultsThere were 14 patients in 16 right side hemiplegia cases and 5 patients in 6 left side hemiplegia cases with total scores of usual test and activity test above or below the normal standard, and in a few of patients results of usual test and activity test were separated. There were significant differences between two variables of 15 BIT items(P<0.05).ConclusionThere are the correlation between BIT items, so it is benefit for clinical practice.
