1.Progress in hemophagocytic syndrome
Cancer Research and Clinic 2017;29(6):429-432
Hemophagocytic syndrome is caused by a variety of potential lesions, resulting in excessive proliferation of lymphocytes and tissue cells, and a life-threatening inflammatory response caused by cytokine storms. Given that the etiology and clinical manifestations of the disease are complex and the specific symptoms are rare, so early diagnosis often occurs misdiagnosis and missed diagnosis. This article reviews the etiology, clinical manifestations, diagnosis and treatment of hemophagocytic syndrome.
2.Advance on treatment of mantle cell lymphoma
Journal of Leukemia & Lymphoma 2009;18(8):499-502
Mantle cell lymphoma is an incurable subtype of non-Hodgkin lymphoma. This review focuses on its treatment progress, including high-dose chemotherapy combining rituximab, radioimmunotberapy, autologous stem cell transplatation, allogenetic stem cell transplatation and targeting therapy. Comparing from the disappointed result of regular chemotherapy, adding rituximab or high-dose regimen could improve the effect. And the radioimmunotherapy has also got some potential results. Autologous stem cell transplantation could increase the survival rate, but non-myeloablative allogenetic stem cell transplantation should be considered on relapsed patients. Till now diverse targeted medicine came into clinical trials and some of them seems competent in mantle cell lymphoma.

The imbalance between histone acetylation and histone deacetylation can lead to the inactivation of suppressor genes and the activation of oncogenes by influencing transcription. Based on this, researchers found that HDAC inhibitors can induce prostate cancer cells growth arrest, differentiation and apoptosis. This review summarizes the advance research of histone deacetylase inhibitors in treatment of prostate cancer.

Objective To analyse the alterative characteristics of electrophysiology by detecting somatosensory evoked potential(SEP) during cerebral remodeling after transfer of healthy C7 nerve root both in patients and normal individuals. Methods From 2002 to 2003, 12 cases of the left total brachial plexus nerve root avulsion were surgically treated by transferring healthy C7 nerve root to impaired median nerve through bridged ulnar nerve. The waveform of SEP of bilateral cortical expressions were recorded after stimulating median nerve of impaired upper extremity at the wrist and elbow. Meanwhile, latent period and amplitude of wave of SEP, and nerve conduction velocity from the level of wrist to elbow were exhibited and compared. Results There were differences of the latency and amplitude of SEP in normal individuals between two sides of cerebrum to some extent. In the healthy sides (first group), difference of latency of SEP on two sides of cerebral cortex had no statistical significance but in the reverse for the amplitude of SEP. For the diseased sides(second group), difference of amplitude of SEP for both sides of cerebral cortex between the patients and the nonmal individuals were of statistical significance, but on the contrary for the change of latency of SEP. Conclusion Cerebral cortex dominating affected extremity is able to bring up functional remodeling electrophysiologically after nerve transfer of healthy C7 nerve root. Shortened latency and augmented amplitude discrepancy of SEP recorded on both sides of cerebral cortex were preliminary electrophysiological criterions. After contralateral C7 nerve root transfer, the examination of SEP can offer data of corresponding cortex "reinnervation", which provides objective evidence for further treatment to promote functional recovery and cortical plasticity.

Chinese Journal of Clinical Oncology 2013;(18):1106-1110
Objective: To investigate the expression of α-B crystalline in triple-negative breast cancer (TNBC) and discuss its role in the prognosis and targeted therapy of TNBC by analyzing the correlation amongα-B crystalline and the clinico-pathological indi-ces of breast cancer. Methods:Immunohistochemistry SP assay was used to determineα-B crystalline expression in paraffin-embedded specimens of 30 cases of TNBC and 50 cases of non-TNBC tissues. The differences in protein expressions among tissues were com-pared, and correlation analysis was performed to determine the relationship between protein expression and clinico-pathological indi-ces. Results:The positive expression rate ofα-B crystalline was 66.67%in TNBC (20/30) and 42.00%in non-TNBC (21/50), which in-dicates that the expression is significantly higher in TNBC than in the non-TNBC tissues (χ2=4.566, P<0.05). The expression ofα-B crystalline in breast cancer has no significant difference in terms of age, tumor diameter, and cancer stage (P>0.05), but exhibits a differ-ence in terms of lymph node metastasis and the number of metastasized lymph nodes [P53, Ki67 (P<0.05)], which presents a positive correlation (r=0.251). Theα-B crystalline expression in TNBC has no significant difference among indices such as age, tumor diameter, nodal metastasis, number of metastasis, P53, cancer stage, and Ki67 (P>0.05). Conclusion:Significant differences were found inα-B crystalline expression between TNBC and non-TNBC.α-B crystalline is highly expressed in TNBC tissues, and the expression is signif-icantly higher in TNBC tissues than that in non-TNBC tissues.α-B crystalline is associated with poor prognosis of breast cancer. Conse-quently, the overexpression ofα-B crystalline in TNBC may be a reason for unfavorable TNBC prognosis.

Chinese Journal of Rehabilitation Theory and Practice 2007;13(6):581-582
Objective To test the effect of different flexion angles of knee joint on the myoelectric activity and torque of quadriceps femoris and hamstring muscle when these muscles contracting.MethodsElectromyographic activities and isometric torque measurements were performed on 10 healthy subjects at 30°, 60° and 90° of knee joint flexion.ResultsThe results indicated that the greatest maximal voluntary isometric contracture-torque of quadriceps femoris occurred during knee extension at 60° of knee flexion ( P<0.01). However, no significant relationship of maximal voluntary isometric contracture-electromyography and maximal voluntary isometric contracture-torque of quadriceps femoris were found in 10 subjects. But when knee joint was at 90° flexion, hamstring muscle had a greatest neuro-myoelectric activity.ConclusionThe exercise of maximal voluntary isometric contraction of quadriceps femoris and hamstrings muscles at certain knee joint angle can help to maintain the stability of knee joint.

Background and purpose:It has been confirmed that homozygous deletion of p16/p15 gene and its co-deletion of p16/p15 genes were related to the occurrence, progress and prognosis of epithelial ovarian cancer. However, the mono-deletion and co-deletion of the genes has been detected with tissue but not in serum DNA of the epithelial ovarian cancer. In this article, we studied the relationship between homozygous deletion of p16/p15 gene and its co-deletion of p16/p15 genes in serum DNA of the epithelial ovarian cancer. Methods:Primers were used to amplify exon 2 of p16 and exon 2 of p15 gene by polymerase chain reaction. Homozygous deletions of the p16, p15 and co-deletion of p16/p15 genes were studied in either serum DNA of 165 patients with epithelial ovarian cancer, their counterpart lymphocytes DNA, serum DNA of 25 benign ovarian cyst or of 15 health donors. Results:The homozygous deletion rates of either p15 or p16 gene were 27.9%(46/165)and 27.3%(45/165)serum DNA in the patients with epithelial ovarian cancer respectively, while the co-deletion rate of p16/p15 genes was 24.2% (40/165). However, the deletions of p15/p16 genes and its co-deletion were not found in serum DNA of the counterpart lymphocytes,25 benign ovarian cyst and 15 health donors (The P values were 0.000、0.000 and 0.000 respectively). The deletions of either p15 or p16 gene for the patients with stage Ⅰ~Ⅱ were 14.3%(5/35) and 11.4%(4/35), 33.3%(25/75) and 32.0%(24/75) for the patients with stage Ⅲ, 29.1%(16/55) and 30.9% (17/55) for stage Ⅳ, respectively. Although there was no significant differences among the groups, the deletion of p15 and p16 genes in the patients with advanced stage were higher than that with early stage. The deletion was not found to be associated with histopathology of epithelial ovarian cancer. Conclusions:Homozygous deletions of the p16, p15 genes and its co-deletion of p15/p16 genes were commonly found in the serum DNA of epithelial ovarian cancer and might be associated with clinical stage of the disease. It was suggested that detection with serum DNA may be used as a micro-invasive approach and the deletion of genes might served as biological markers for the development and prognosis of the patients with epithelial ovarian cancer.
